Remember back in the day having to change your TV channel to 3, to play games.
Remember me deepthroating your mom while you and your dad watched, that was some great shit.
Hooooo yeah, totally different from changing the input.
We get it OP, you like trump
congrats
What are /vr/'s thoughts on Valkyrie Profile? I'm on Chapter 7 so far and while there are flaws, its still really enjoyable. Music is amazing too. Hope the sequel is as good.
Also, who's your favorite party member and why is it Yumei?
It's definitely in my top 10 games of all time. I love the system of sending your dudes off to Valhalla.
>Also, who's your favorite party member and why is it Yumei?
I think you mean Arngrim.
Also, it's not retro but Valkyrie Profile 2 is definitely worth a run through if you like 1.
Aelia is best profile.

Your opinion on the hoot sound player?
I'm trying to get it to work and so far no avail
>>3218158
I like the piano visualizer it has for channels but its all in moonrunes. Make sure your music files are in the right directory.
>>3218183
I did but nothing happens
There was a website where the files wouldn't work, I don't remember which one does though
I just recently found out that there's a handful of retro games that support Dolby Surround, most notably the PS1 and even the SNES.
http://www.mobygames.com/attribute/sheet/attributeId,136/offset,0/p,6/so,0a/
http://www.mobygames.com/attribute/sheet/attributeId,136/p,15/
Why isn't sound a thing here?
>>3217551
How the fuck does a ps1 output surround over L and R composite audio?
>>3217558
It's Dolby Surround, not Dolby 5.1, you fucking idiot. If you don't understand the difference, why you don't just fucking look it up instead of expecting everyone to spoonfeed you everything? This shit is easily available online.
>>3217558
>When a Dolby Stereo/Dolby Surround soundtrack is produced, four channels of audio information (left, center, right, and surround) are matrix-encoded into only two channels. The surround information is carried on stereo sources such as VHS-HiFi, TV, DVDs, 35mm theatrical print optical soundtracks, or television broadcasts from which it can be decoded by a processor to recreate the original Dolby Stereo/Dolby Surround (left, center, right, and surround) mix. Without the decoder, the information...

What is this magic? Why is everything so much better?
>>3217528
>3840x480
wtf
Other than that, everyone who isn't a retard knows that no LCD ever could beat a High-End CRT, only an OLED can match it.
>>3217540
oled? why?
Because it hides all the scaling errors you normally get when you try to display emulators at 640x480. At such wide resolutions, the scaling errors are not visible because they're too small for the CRT to show.

"Enduro" is a symbolic journey through life via the media of a race. The results are insignificant and what really counts is competing. Of particular importance are the lessons to be learned concerning one's self from the various encounters you experience along the way. There is no victor or loser in this test of endurance. The only thing that really matters is that you make a commitment to begin the long and trying trek. This game is then dedicated to all of the "life riders" who have started out on the solitary trip to find their own individual limits....

Serious question, will the prices of Japanese games and consoles ever reach the level of bullfuckery that Western systems have?
Should I start collecting them now?
yes, since the japanese games are supposed to be returned (sold back) to the japanese.
Its the gaijins who buy games and drive uo the prices.

>Should I start collecting Japanese games?
BUY BUY BUY
You're a bit late.
Has anyone here had experience with custom cartridge orders from GameReproductions before? I really want a copy of colorized Metroid 2 for the Gameboy Color and the ones on Etsy look like shit (pic related), both in the quality of the cartridge and label, and the actual colorization romhack that they chose. I have a superior color romhack (which has been tested on actual hardware) that I want to put in an authentic black Nintendo GBC cartridge with period-accurate label art.
GameReproductions is the only service I know of that does Gameboy custom orders, however their...

lets use this thread to try to help other anons out on a game we played back in the day but cant remember the games name. i'll start
ps1 game
it was like twisted metal but this game took place underwater/the ocean with submarines instead of cars
ps1 game
i remember the intro being some kid living on a floating island with his grandpa(?) they had to use some gems to break off pieces of the land or the place would fall. in this one cut sense they are breaking off a part of the land but the boy jumps in the land falling off to save some baby birds
ps1...

>i only remember the gameplay being some man with a staff and he fights some skeletons and beasts. the skeletons wore robes and i think they were on fire
That perfectly describes Monkey Hero if you replace man with monkey.
Anyway, I remember playing a game either for SNES or Genesis (I'm not sure which) that you controlled a red oval character (like a strawberry or really just a ball) and he wore sunglasses. That's all I really remember about it, I only played it once I think.
>>3210092
Are you talking about Cool Spot? The 7up game?
>>3210053
You are referring to critical depth, great game made BY the twisted metal people. I would love to see this game remade the way twisted metal was. Using the shield, L1+R1 combo shots and the pod abilities was CRUCIAL to gettin' gud at this game. Not to mention you can find this game complete for under $10.
They make a achievements system for retro consoles like SNES, Genesis and Gameboy
What you think?

I never needed that.

Why not just make your own acheevs and write them down in the notes section in the manual?
Sounds like a shitty idea
