Alright, who's got some ROMs uploaded for use with this bad-boy?
This is considered desirable?
>>3051690
cool story brah
I played the other DOA games, but never the original. Apparently its a lot different?
Also Itagaki said the Saturn version was better than the arcade. What makes it superior?
>>3051552
Must of misheard quote, because its obviously not better. It's missing stuff like the 3D model stage backgrounds that have turned into 2D pictures on the console versions.
>>3051586
He said he liked the Saturn version best and that is why he ported it to the Xbox.
BOOB PHYSICS ENGINE
Fuck this warning of hell, I've burnt half a dozen of cds and not a single fully working copy of Spyro Year of The Dragon!! Tried diferent isos with a pletora of patches, none of my 4 consoles can skip this warning, tried with PSX phat and slim, tried with PS2 phat and slim, 4 fucking different modchips that cannot fucking play this game properly, the only workaround I found myself is to swap the disc with the paradox patched version a second before the warning popups. How the hell I cam make a fully working copy of this.
>>3051397
Try calling the number and asking them.
Just spend $5 and buy the game then.
>>3051397
You try using boot disc isos? Or patching with one of these? >http://consolecopyworld.com/psx/psx_utils.shtml
Boot disks are the only thing that has worked for me. I swap anyway with an unchipped console, if it doesnt work i swap a few different boot/tool discs and boot the burned game from the boot disc menu. That site has many tools that i havent really seen anywhere else, id look around.
Any anons here living in Japan? I'm looking for a couple of region-exclusive retro games that aren't for sale on the internet.
I live in Tokyo.
>>3051248
Great!
These are the games I'm looking for. They are “ローリーポーリーズの七転び八起き” and "バナバナ1号" for the PC/Mac. I've spent nearly 3 years looking for them, and since then I've only found people who won't sell their copies.
PC games, eh? This might be a little tough. ok, I'll probably go to akihabara today after work. I can look for you.
Can we have a thread about SMB2J / Lost Levels?
I beat the All-Stars version (inb4 wimp) today and the level design blew me away. Sometimes I found it borderline hilarious what they expected of you for certain jumps or how far you were meant to make it without taking a hit. It's cruel, but it's so well done how many things they thought of.
It pissed me off, but the Invisible Poison Mushroom Blocks™ placed right where you WOULD try to jump over Hammer Bros. in 8-3 was pretty brilliant.
You better believed I had a Game Over on the stairs in 8-4....
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Levels ABCD are not that good in my opinion, just world 5 with underwater physics.
>>3051137
Aren't you thinking of World 9 where you have the underwater physics in the overworld?
World 9 is totally fluffy and bizarre, but I liked it. It's just a weird little thing. Especially 9-3, no diea what's supposed to be going on there. But who doesn't love the 'Airigato!' ?
A through D have some different stuff, but as I recall from earlier today most of D was just harder versions of some previous world. I can't recall which though...
>>3051147
Yeah that's probably it, someone always brings up how most ports are missing those letter worlds but I never thought they were that great.
Would building a raspberry pi emulator machine inside an old snes case be feasible for a guy who's only accomplishment with computer hardware is building a desktop pc and who only knows how to copy/paste as far as coding is concerned?
just put a wii inside it.
Put it on a jaguar case and sell under the coleco name, you'll make millions.
>>3051069
Give it up Mike, your dream is dead.
Does anyone own one of the cirka N64 controllers?
I got one but the control stick is so damn tight and squeaks a lot. aside from that I really really like them and wanna get two more but is there anything I can do to loosen it? will it go away with use or can i take it apart and do something to it?
>>3050862
just get some nintendo ones
none of the replicas have sticks that are near the same quality as actual nintendo controllers
really its just worth the extra money for getting real n64 controllers
>>3050871
Not OP, but finding an official controller with a joystick that isn't worn to crap is getting very hard to do these days.
>>3051034
i found 3 today
only one of mine has a joystick thats worn to shit and we're getting closer to being able to repair the original sticks
even with the worn sticks i'd still say the official controllers are easier to use than repros
What are the best exclusive Famicom Disk System games?

Is there a bigger cancer than fighting games?
Go back to >>>/v/
>>3050250
How about you explain to us in detail all the ways you think fighting games are terrible so we can all laugh at you for the millionth time? I'm game if you are, friend.
So what's your biggest beef?
>>3050250
Well, you exist. Can't get any bigger than that.
How the fuck were you supposed to know how to damage anything in this game?
Really forcing this meme hard, aren't we?
>>3050258
It's going to get worse when spring break starts in April.
Protip the gameplay doesn't get better.
Why people like this repetitive shit is beyond me.
Probably a different sort of thread than usual here, but I figure there's no better place to ask. To cut to the chase - me and a friend have a story set in 1986, and I want to know what sorts of games/consoles are popular or out around that time.
I already know about the NES, the MSX and arcades, but I'm digging around to find more stuff, flesh out the world a lot more.
If you're including something like the MSX, your story is already extremely obscure and probably hipster.Or maybe it's a story about some social reject/rich kid.
Are you like 15 and just looking at wiki shit?
Where is your story going to take place?
>>3050236
Take out the MSX and replace it with a SMS
Do you guys think this could've been a cult-classic (like secret of mana or similar titles) if it had been released in the US?
Or do you think an US release wouldn't have made a difference?
Doubt it. Late release SNES RPG with a trilogy that already wasn't that popular as a whole.
Even now I don't have much of an incentive to give it a try.
>>3050191
Was illusion of gaia ever a cult classic? I don't think so.
>>3050193
I should ad I had no idea the game existed till like 2010.
How the fuck were you supposed to know the right arrow d-pad moves you?
>>3049771
How the fuck were you suppose to know to stomp on the enemies? I legit don't remember how I figured it out.
