While it was lacking in many aspects, I still appreciate it for what it was and had.
So here's a Nintendo 64 thread.
Why are 64DD units so god damn expensive?
my favorite console desu
>>3070279
Because it was a failure.
Why is this game viewed so highly?
Is it actually that fun? Or is it because it's good for scoring?
Also, can I have a ship tier list, in terms of 1cc.
>Why is this game viewed so highly?
Because it was quite original, it encourages a pretty unorthdox way of playing.
>Is it actually that fun? Or is it because it's good for scoring?
It's good but you have to spend a lot many hours in the game to play decently. It also has good scoring but that's only if you enjoy these stuff, otherwise 1cc should be fine.
>Also, can I have a ship tier list, in terms of 1cc.
Mahou ships (especially Miyamotto and Bornnam)...

It is fun, but in a strange, masochistic way that only Raizing games are fun. It's got a complex system where the game gets impossibly hard if you start doing good, so you end up doing backwards shit like dying on purpose, passing up powerups, and stuff. Personally, I always preferred Battle Bakraid. The game's much less of a brutal monster fuck and has more planes to choose from.
>tfw, only playable on MAME
I don't know the tier lists for 1cc, but I do best...

Oh also the graphics and music are pretty top and really add to the game, the tension in this stage is pretty crazy.

Crazy Taxi.
What is /vr/'s stance on emulation on smartphones or small tablets?

You're a big guy
Better than Parodius
>>3066809
Well obviously, Parodius is just a crap Gradius clone. Phantasy Zone is totally different.
Opa-opa is a murderer.

This game is gloriously difficult. You need an olympic medal to beat it. What went so right?
really
Just the right amount of difficulty makes for the best seasoning. I'd argue only Gorilla Glacier is real difficult coming in the first time, but it'll likely take a while there getting to the next save point.
Ice Age Alley's barrel sequence is likely the largest difficulty spike in the whole series. I've been playing this game ever since it came out and still only make it in like 1/4 attempts. If you get completely stuck there's always the shortcut...
Shirty collision detection
Find a flaw.

Just played it OP? What do you think?

Very good game depending on the person, receieves too much hate here and brings out the worst of /vr/. If you like dragon quest and/or non serious and goofy you probably will like it. It's my favorite game of all time but we get to many threads on it, most of which are bait and shitposting.
General question: What is your favorite MOTHER game and why?
Can we have a retro shmup thread? I don't want to go to /vg/ and discuss Steam shit. I'd much rather discuss 90's shmups.
What are you currently playing?
Cave has some great games.
These threads made me hate shmups, so, no.
I'm playing a lot of strikers 1945 that i found for 100yen. Man it's giving me my money's worth!! Great fun.

Don't look then
>tfw I didn't notice 16 hours have passed by playing OpenTTD
I have lost control of my life. You guys know any good mods/addons for this? Also, is this the best train tycoon game out there?
Posting A-Train in a TTD thread
>>3062191
Fuck yeah!
I used to play that one on my old 1995 IBM Aptiva. The music was pretty epic.
I was like 6 years old and I remember being puzzled that it snowed on December rather than July. (I'm from Argentina). That game taught me the seasons were opposite in the Northern Hemisphere.
First time /vr/ lurker. Didn't know people still play this game. Played it a lot when I was a child. Good times.

What is the consensus on Pinball simulation games?
>>3061009
simulation never feels like the real deal
i can smash funhouse in pinball arcade, but i suck balls on the real table
>>3061009
damn, these armpits. Inevitable wear, or can one do something about that?
>>3061009
Pinball is great. Pinball video games rarely do it justice though. A few that try different things with the idea have been neat though. Sonic Spinball is an imperfect but quite fun game.
your opinion on Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
overrdated
I think the general consensus is it's the best Metal Gear game. MGS: Ghost Babel also is recommended.

So I'm almost done playing the Medarot series on the GBC. What are some other RPGs I can play on the GB/GBC?
Besides Pokemon that is.
>>3050032
mystic quest
Great Greed and Knight's Quest are cool, really overlooked.
Some of the popular home series made appearances on the GBC, like Grandaria, Star Ocean and Lufia. There are a shit ton of Japan exclusive RPGs on the GBC.
>>3050032
SaGa 1 and 2 are pretty great. 3 is different but still decent. Dragon Quest 1-3 ports are decent too.
