This game has some weird difficulty. Seemed to take forever to clear La Dune and then did Dolmicca on the first try.

What's the name for this kind of game? Like a shmup, but where you can go back and forth or loop? Are there any other examples? Defender is similar, and Bangai-O kind of is... but not really. I can't think of much else that's like this.
