1) why is it called Tetris attack when it isn't anything like Tetris?
2) What makes Panel de pon/puzzle league/attack different from games like bejeweled and candy crush? Is it because it only utilizes two boxes rather than a series of boxes?
>>3221584
1) Almost certain it was for name recognition sales. People know and like Tetris. People don't know "Panel De Pon" and might be more hesitant to buy it.
2) The big differences are that in Tetris Attack, you can swap blocks while other blocks are in the process of disappearing, which you can't do in Bejeweled and which makes the most difficult part of Tetris Attack, that being chaining, possible, and new blocks don't come in from the top, but from the bottom, so you always know exactly...

Thanks anon; appreciate it
Did anyone else out there get screwed by 99gamers? They disallowed listing games. People still have coins tied up in the site. People are shipping games and receiving coins they'll never be able to use. Worse thing is they were selling discounted coins over the holidays, out of greed, and it caused inflation. I would love to ruin their TYDY app in the appstore because nobody has heard from them.

SHIT
Can you elaborate? Disallowed listing games? I'm not familiar at all with this site.
I've never even heard of this site. Should I have?
I actually like this game
>nintenbabby likes retarded games
well duh
Did you seek out /vr/'s opinion on this game before you formulated your own?
Then you liking it is invalid. We will tell you what is and is not enjoyable.

I'm sorry.
I miss him
I don't, why didn't they just use Bomberman as the mascot of the PC-Engine/Turbografx?

Arcade game the best.

Super Bonk and Bonk 3 were my favs
Any computer RPGs you can recommend that have more of a sword-and-sorcery (think Conan, Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, etc.) than "epic fantasy" vibe about them?

Honestly? It ain't that bad
I traded in my lightly used copy of Superman 64 to gamestop in 2005, and got about $5 store credit. (I used the money to buy Burnout:revenge) I wish I kept the game.
>>3221165
>he actually misses Superman 64
Aww. Believe me when I say a lot of people wanted this game to be good. I was expecting something cool and got something really really different. Game is unexpectedly glitchy.
There's said to be a completely redone PS1 version by another developer but it never got released. A shame really. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Wm4DtkdrG0
>>3221172
As a kid though I just worked around and with the glitches as they happened. I was blissfully unaware of how bad the game was. yeah i stuck in walls sometimes or characters would disappear or I'd randomly die. but to me that was part of the challenge. I was such a sucker then
pricecharting currently values a loose copy at 7 dollars. You wouldn't be breaking the bank if you really want it back, OP.

Favorites are Zork, A Mind Forever Voyaging, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Bureaucracy
Didn't play many of these, but I had a good time playing Pirate Adventure on the Atari 800 with my younger brother when we were kids.
Never finished Adventureland because it was a lot harder.
Know anywhere where I can download Zork code in C++?

How in earth do I play mods with EDuke32? I'm using Megaton Edition classic as the base game, but I don't seem to get mods to work properly. The official addons work perfectly straight from the start menu, mods that use the classic DN3D assets work fine, even WWII GI works.
But mods that have custom stuff like new enemies, guns, graphics etc. don't seem to work at all. If I somehow manage to get them launched with the EDuke32 launcher, the mods simply don't work as intended. The new enemies are just still...

Honeslty I think you're best bet would be to just check in at the Doom General, but good luck in finding what you need.

Mod support is broken in Megaton. Get original GRP files.
Is this a good tablet for RetroArch? It has a resolution of 1920x1200, which seems to be the minimum resolution for shaders like CRT Royale to look good.
>>3221079
>Is this a good tablet for RetroArch?
Considering nVidia has sent them hardware on several occasions fore dev purposes, i'd imagine so.
I'm thinking about picking up one for myself.
>>3221425
Well most people on 4chan tend to shit on Android when it comes to emulation, so I thought I'd ask this board just to be safe.
Figured that it certainly has the specs along with the right resolution to let me use shaders in RetroArch.
>>3221425
Really? Source? I believe you, but I wouldn't have imagined RA is high profile enough to be getting free hardware.
Getting a new phone. I travel a lot. Want to get one for Emulation. Would like some advice on which phone (formerly iphone) I should get.
I'm guessing you guys might suggest getting like a laptop or something dedicated to emulating or something but I'd really just like to have the option of just carrying around my phone and maybe a controller.
Literally any Android phone will run anything up to PS1 games fine. The only problem is touch controls.
I suggest a Note 4 or a Nexus 6 because you can get them for cheap now. Don't get that sloped screen gimmicky shit.
>>3220996
If you want something dedicated to emulation you can carry around, you should buy a PSP, it's cheap, and it's extremely easy to put emulators on it.
If you needed a new phone anyway, any Android could do.
>>3220996
JXD s5800 is mainly an android gaming handheld, but it also doubles as a phone. Since it's designed with constant gaming in mind, battery lifetime in phone usage is actually quite good. Can play All PS1, and half of the N64 libraries without issue. Attempt Dreamcast at your own risk.
Is Ikaruga the ultimate STG game?
>>3220962
No you just haven't played much games of this type.
>>3220962
Is Ikaruga the ultimate shitpost bait?

Pretty much yeah.
Are 1 and 3 worth playing through? Would you consider this a good series of games?
3 is amazing. Cannot recommend it enough. Haven't played the others but I am excited for the mobile release of RS2 which is apparently the best in the series
If you are going to play the first one then play the PS2 remake. Yes it is a good series of games that reaches from the Gameboy and onward. My favorites are Final Fantasy Legend II, SaGa Frontier, and Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song.
The mechanics aren't traditional JRPG mechanics so that can turn people off from the series.
Don't grind. Don't fucking grind. Don't do it! Are you listening to me, you little punk! Don't fucking grind!
Hey /vr/ where does a guy go to buy replacement cap kits that aren't shit and learn how to git gud at soldering? Should I just buy a bunch of busted trash in a lot on ebay and practice?
The idea of sending in retro 20 consoles via shipping risking damage in transport.. to professional neckbeards to do it for me at a large cost and then send it back and hope some dipshit at fedex doesn't throw it against a wall doesn't sound appealing.
The only one showing problems are my older Atari systems. The 2600 and the Atari XE. That said its just a matter...

>where does a guy go to buy replacement cap kits
Any capacitor is good these days. Just go to an electronics store and get the ones you need
>how to git gud at soldering
Practice, practice practice. I taught 10 year old kids how to solder in an electronics summer course with these kits and they all got it pretty well.
http://www.amazon.com/Velleman-MK129-Crawling-Microbug/dp/B000TA58HQ#customerReviews
Console5.com has cap kits for many consoles.
They're local for me and have pages on where each cap goes.
Dont buy cap kits unless you want to overpay.
look around to see if you have a local electronics supply store. Buy them there if you do. Way cheaper than online, assuming theyre not completly ripping everyone off, due to the price of caps. That or figure out what you need and buy in bulk, what you need now and extras for later. Shipping kills the usual cheapness of buying online. It sucks needing $2 worth of caps and having to pay $8 for shipping.
