Any computer RPGs you can recommend that have more of a sword-and-sorcery (think Conan, Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, etc.) than "epic fantasy" vibe about them?

Heimdall was pretty good, it's a RPG-lite action adventure game/dungeon crawler.
As name implies, it's Norse mythology themed, but in a very sword and sorcery way - not overtly fantastical, but not completely historical either.

Epic fantasy refers to fantasy centered around world-shattering events. Think A Song of Ice and Fire where the White Walkers are coming and there's a big war, or Lord of the Rings where there's the One Ring that might resurrect Sauron and bring about an aeon of darkness.
Sword and Sorcery is much more about individual assholes trying to find treasure or achieve personal goals. Think of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser going to an old building in the middle of nowhere because they heard treasure was there, or trying to steal a mask from Death as part of a deal with two wizards who promised to make their dead girlfriends stop haunting them.

Baldur's gate one was at heart mostly swords and sorcery stuff. All the wandering in the wilderness, and just discovering the range or places there are. That's a helpful explanation for why it gets so badly received.
The expansion pack for IWD also leaned towards that, also going hand in hand with player disappointment.
BG1 would still be an appealing RPG if it was touched up, to really enshrine the swords and sorcery side of it.
