I have one of these but I can't get Castlevania: Spectral Interlude to work on it. Can anyone here help?
>>3325124
what is that
>>3325245
That's what I was wondering as well. Apparently this thing is a plug 'n play console for the ZX spectrum.
Can anyone help me find the 4th game from the first line?
At least give me the name i can't find it. I already have every other one i wantedblocks, dots, jacks, jezzball, rodents revenge,
But i think this is one of these that i played a lot back in the day and i can't find it's name. I won't download every single microsoft entertainment pack just to find it!
Also, make it a windows 3.1/95 games

>This is the then in development character roster with the new cast in the bottom row, none of which are in the alleged proto screenshots posted ages ago.
>I’ve been told that the protos were trashed long ago but hope remains that the data exists.

I like looking through alternate designs for characters they were considering.
>>3324432
Where's Mr. Karate? He was on that one existing Garou 2 screenshot.
>>3324510
looks like the screenshot was a fake
Post games with loot systems, doesn't matter what kind of game.
Just finished Record of Lodoss War for Dreamcast, and I'm looking for something else with a nice loot system, randomized or not, doesn't matter.
>>3324337
Diablo and its sequel are easy answers.
Lots of PC RPGs have randomized stuff you get from chests : like Might & Magic
Shadow Tower springs to mind
Does anyone know if there's a translation for this out? it's the osomatsu-kun game on NES/Famicom if you're wondering, also if not tips on translating or editing text on NES/Famicom games would help
Why do you need to translate every Famicom game? Who gives a shit about a game based on an untranslated manga and anime?
>>3324290
why do you care about him translating?
>>3324290
I do, I actually liked the anime, besides if it was translated what damage would that cause?
which NES emulator do you use?
Nestopia (UE) on Windows, FCEUX on Linux. Nestopia can be compiled on Linux systems, but I haven't had any success with my Slackware distribution, so I went with FCEUX instead.
Back when I first discovered emulation, I used FCE Ultra exclusively. This was long before it was rebranded to FCEUX. I believe Nesticle was still in use at the time, as well.
Man, I feel old.
>>3324243
Yeah, man. Slack user here, too.
Built nestopia but couldn't get a non-gl output mode.
GL3 support is non-existant for this 9 year old intel video card. Tried building newer drivers but hit dependancy hell. Reading slack-current makes me believe it's a headache for Pat, too.
Used FCEUX 2.2.2 for a year, but finaly realized that it runs like dog shit compared to the ancient fceu-0.98.13... which has 0 bells and whistles comparatively, but runs smooth as butter.

For the past few years I've almost exclusively used FCE Ultra GX on the Wii.
I used to love this game but no idea what the fuck was going on.
General amiga 500/1200 discussion. Best and worst games.

WizKid. Confusing shit.
what if zool could izuna drop?
Hi, /vr/, do you prefer platformers where you build up speed (i.e. Super Mario Bros 3, Sonic) or where you have a set speed when walking/running (i.e. Megaman, Donkey Kong Country)?
Pic related, one of my favorite static speed platformers
I guess I prefer some amount of momentum, but not broken shit like Kid Kool.
Static for me.
Messing with momentum was always annoying.
Is Contra a platformer? I like the way Contra controls.
>>3323956
Momentum is better. You have to calculate and plan out your movement, and when you get good at it the speed you can maintain is extremely satisfying.
Kirby's Adventure is another example of a NES game with a beautiful sense of momentum and weight.
Finally got the Amulet of Yendor after sneaking by tons of dragons, jabberwocks, vampires, and griffins with a stealth ring. Medusa shows up on your way out, fucks with your controls, and pummels the shit out of you. The end.
>>3323931
I like roguelikes but Rogue seems really, really not worth the torment
>>3323939
Pretty much. It's interesting to see the birth of the genre, it was the first game I ever really got obsessed with. But there's honestly little reason to play it today. The difficulty is set extremely high, but you as the player are still quite limited in your choices and strategies compared to successive roguelikes. The result is that it's just kind of tedious and not exciting to play.
>>3323931
>Medusa shows up on your way out, fucks with your controls, and pummels the shit out of you. The end.
I see someone hasn't read the errata.
Sounds like you forgot to put wear tin, copper, gold, silver, aluminium rings on each of your left hand fingers, then put down 52mg of salt distilled from the saliva of a chicken and a kobold kissing, then have your dog walk around it and bark three times at it then urinate on it. Then cut both your ankles on the inside and rub the blood...

spider-man thread
At the time it was mind blowing.
>>3323905
Still is. Good gameplay, decent story inspired by episodes of the show/comic issues, fun cameos, replayability with collectables and the 'What If?' mode.
Great game, that even anti-moonswinging autists can like.
Spoderdraad
been playin thru this shit and honestly its becoming my fave game on the snes/fami. are there any other platformers like this one besides the obvious other entries in the series? and sidenote, what are the best cute'em ups?
>>3323846
Momotaro Katsugeki on the PC Engine feels like Hudson's answer to the Goemon series. Also check out Super Ninja-kun on the Super Famicom as well.
>>3323846
>what are the best cute'em ups?
The Parodius series, Star Parodier on the PC Engine, and the Twinbee series.
You need this in your life, Famicom.
I used to play Taiwanese vidya when I was ten to twelve yrs old. Something like sango fighter was decent but I think that Taiwanese vidya has disappeared entirely. What happened?
>>3323682
Chinese and Taiwanese game focus as of late has been mostly mobile, because that's where the audience and money is. Sonic Jam 6 and Squirrel King was a long time ago, me bucko
There's also this thing.

>>3323682
Likely suffered the same fate as Korean PC vidya: it's mostly become MMOs, edutainment, and other genres/styles we don't pay attention to normally.
>>3323682
Near the beginning of the last decade they had trouble coming up with new fighting games. It seemed that everything that could be done had been done. They built a giant super computer to try all permutations and try to come up with something new. It ran for five years and found only one. So they squeezed out one last turd and that was the end of it.
The same happened for mahjong games 10 years before.

..you know skunks don't fart to defend themselves right?
Besides apparently butchering the the Ultima lore, was the gameplay at least alright?
Meh, the best thing about Ultima IX is the fact that without it we wouldn't had Gothic
Didn't the first few Ultima feature spaceship battles? I doubt lore was high on he priority.
The gameplay is good. It's similar to the Underworld series but more polished.
>>3323291
The games from 5 onward tried to include some continuity but took liberties in regard to the predecessors to fit them better into the story.
The big problem with 9 is that the story is lame.
