How do I get get good at HOMM3?
Most common mistakes:
>building up economy first instead of army. you can make more money with an effective army
>playing inferno
Hope this helps
get into fight and receive skeletons

I tried but the Necropolis units seem brittle as fuck
Talk favorite tables, music, designers, companies, arcade locations, etc.

Trying to figure this game out, seems really weird.
By the way which style do you prefer? Old...

The character you're controlling, doesn't she throw chemicals? I think I've played that character in a MUGEN pack before and had to look up the game she originally was from and it seems to be like a 2d version of rival schools.
Does anyone know where I can find/play this game? This game is the shit I used to play it all the time as a kid
I could never get past megaman though
>>3354849
Looks like Spartan X.
>>3354849
did you try newgrounds?
Who's idea was it to make the interface use these tiny ass red buttons instead of the actual text box?
You always find yourself wanting to click the box but then nothing happens and you remember that you have to go for le tiny red button instead.
Is it just me or is this asinine?
>>3354773
Fallout is not known for its fantastic interface. It looks pretty cool, but it takes a while to get used to. Reading the manual is also pretty necessary for understanding how to play the game well.
>>3354821
The fallout Bible is what it's called right? I remember a handy website helped me out when I first started
That Per Jorner(?) guide was a massive help, but it predates the Restoration Project.
Speaking of that, what's people's opinions on the Restoration Project?
Hey, /vr/ can you help me with a ROM hack I'm making? I'm trying to import a test level, but my textures look like ass and the model gets all distorted, creating invisible walls and shit. If you help me, I'll let you suggest anything you want to be in the game. Thanks.
Here's what it looks like in sketchup
Well you guys are helpful.
Anyone else enjoy the pleasure of watching retro streamers on Twitch?
There's always a nice selection of games being played and the community is always chill
>>3353995
I prefer streamers that don't go beyond a facecam in the corner and speed-run splits. Anything else is autism.
Of course this means I only watch XeroKynos in terms of retro.
>>3353995
the twitch community is awful. hey guys just came back! hey Rocket67f! hey guys! christ
What games made your list?
Pokemon
Final Fantasy Legend
Gargoyle's Quest
Harvest Moon
Link's Awakening
I could probably rattle off at least another 20 games that are just as good though.
>>3353609
>Pokemon Red/Gold
>DK Land 1, 2, 3
>Survival Kids
>Zelda: Link's Awakening DX
>Tetris
Although not on most people's top 5, I really liked SF Alpha as a kid.
>>3353609
Mega man I
Mega man II
Mega man III
Mega man IVMega manV
So /vr/ I want to collect sega cd games but I want to know how to tell the difference between a real and a fake. Really want to get games like popful mail and shining force cd
No real way to tell with SEGA CD. Same with Turbo CD.
But I'm not aware of anyone that had an actual batch of CDs made. Consumer CDR shit is easy to spot.
>>3353343
>Really want to get games like popful mail and shining force cd
How ya got some dosh. Honestly unless you're already famliar with the games and want them for sentimental reasons, Id advice against collecting and just emulate.
I love the hell outta Mail but it is not cheap.
>>3353350
I have the money I just like owning and playing vidya on their original hardware. Not gonna go full autismo and get case and manual disc is just fine for me.
What's the best reintegration game for each gen of consoles? Like I find pic related to be the best way to go back to NES, especially after the coddling of the modern. Easy transition games.
C'mon faggots
I don't even understand what you're trying to say, but Balloon Fight and most early nes games like Circus Charlie and Galaga helped me to get into gen 2.
Balloon Fight is great. Shame there's no ending, ie, it just loops forever. I need that closure.
You didn't tell them about the rumble pak, did you?

>"Star Fox 64 is the coolest cinematic experience there is"
Weird to see "Cinematic" being used in that generation. But I got something to show to people to show who think cinematic games are only a recent phenomenon.
>>3353284
cinematic done right in this game because it doesn't interrupt the flow of the gameplay.
>>3353284
the whole cinematic shit was started by the SEGA CD, the CDI and the 3DO, because it was a magnet for people who didnt play many videogames. Thanks that shit died in gen 5 and 6.
Currently playing through Dragon Warrior on the NES. I'm sure there's a DW/DQ thread somewhere but I figure this could deserve its own thread, since /vr/ is a slow board.
Just got the Staff of Rain, grinding in Garin's Grave to reach level 13 and buy the full play.
Current Equipment: Broad Sword, Half Plate and Large Shield.
Wanna beat the dragon in the Swamp Cave before I advance any further south of the town with Garin's Grave in it.
tl;dr Tips, advice, discussion of Dragon Warrior for the NES?
>>3353213
OP: reach level 13 and buy the full plate*
>I figure this could deserve its own thread, since /vr/ is a slow board.
I am not sure I followeth thy logic.

Still playing?
Does anyone know where I can find a modchip for the Sega Saturn?
Of the two websites that I knew that sold them, one went out of business and the other had to stop listing them on their website due to threats from Paypal, and I have no idea if they have any left.
>>3353007
>the other had to stop listing them on their website due to threats from Paypal,
If you mean rob webb, he had to stop listing them *in public*. That does not mean he is not still selling them, however.
Just send him a mail and ask about it, he always had them in stock when I asked.
>>3353019
I'll shoot him an email then. I've been meaning to get my Saturn modded for a long time. The game prices are the main reason I haven't been playing it much.
>>3353007
Why don`t you just mod your action replay cart and use Psuedo Saturn ?
Rare occurrence in seaman? I've never gotten the orange butterfly moth thing before. He evolved from a blue larva (never seen before either)
>>3352898
That's weird, It probably doesn't do much though.
Seaman thread? I really like this game, but I must admit I have only ever played through by changing the time on the system and doing it all in one sitting, if I ever get around to replacing the battery in my DC I'll have to do a legit playthrough.
>>3352912
When I was in high school I got a copy of Seaman on eBay and in my excitement, decided to leave the system on while I was at school. I didn't realise that the temperature drops much faster when the system is on, so when I came back and found my tadpoles dead I ended up crying.
>>3353474
Don't worry, those tadpoles are fucking assholes.
Hey, /vr/. I tend to play WRPGs, especially but not exclusively those from the mid-late 90s. But I'd like to get more into JRPGs.
JRPGs I've played and enjoyed:
>Final Fantasy IV
>Final Fantasy VII
>Secret of Mana
>Seiken Densetsu III
>Secret of Evermore
>Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
>Final Fantasy Tactics AdvanceComment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Why don't you play the original FFT, then? It's quite better than the others.
Shin Megami Tensei and Etrian Oddyssey are the only jRPG series I like, they are dungeon crawling games
However EO is not retro and is mostly aimed at child molestors
If you enjoyed FF4 you'll enjoy anything. 4 is the blueprint for generic JRPGs. Literally anything is more interesting.
