What's the most weeb /vr/ console? The popular choices are probably PC Engine CD or Saturn, but there's also the PC FX, and the Super Nintendo / Famicom was the weeaboo console of choice in the UK due to Super Play. What say you, /vr/?

PC-FX because of its purity. The only game without traditional hand drawn 2D is Return to Zork.
It even had a cute girl mascot.

This kind of shit is what's wrong with the industry. After the Wild West style business of the 80's and 90's, the gaming industry is all out of Clint Eastwoods. Now we're stuck with Heath Ledgers like Randy, all fighting over their own little cum stained patch of Brokeback Mountain.

In Randy's never-ending quest to ruin as much IP as possible, he is now trying to wrestle away the rights to a mobile port of Duke Nukem 3D written by eDuke32 developer TerminX. This deal was signed with 3DRealms before Randy bought the...

I agree, Randy is a wanglord and I hope his feet get run over by a steamroller.

For clarification, and for to those who may not know, it is important to rewind a little the history of Gearbox and Duke Nukem 3D.

After 3DRealms went under, Gearbox made a deal to release Duke Nukem Forever.
That deal included the rights to DNF and to "any NEW Duke Nukem game".
3DRealms still owned Duke Nukem 3D and every single Duke game already released.

3DR died and Interceptor bought what was left of it.
They wanted to do a lot of cool shit for DN3D and also its community.

But Gearbox said "no you can't do that, we own...

Emuparadise is generally my go-to. Can't find something google the title of the game you want followed by ISO. It should lead you to other rom sites.

Where would I start with getting my own Rhea? Is it something you build or do you just order it? All I know is it's a saturn clone.

So I take the Iso put it in on sd card and boom I'm good?

For some it is. For a while, that used to be true for me as well but I never got into after the spectacular, if a bit rushed, opening moments.

I'm a 1-3 + REmake kind of fan and I even got some mileage out of 4 but that is it. 3 will always be the last great RE for me.

Where does this idea of a game 'not aging well' come from? I understand that game conventions change over time, but if something was fun in the 80s, it's not like age takes away that fun.

Modern gamers. 6th genners primarily.

Specifically those who grew up on GameCube. PS2, and xbox.

>>3166613
Goldeneye was fun in the 90's but if you've played any modern shooter you would have to agree it has 'aged'. It might still be fun on some level but there's no denying it's more of a hassle than anything to play.

True story
I put my name on N64 carts as a kid because I'd bring them over for huge sleepovers a lot.

Well, after the 10th time, some went missing.

The kid I slept over with called me to come over the NEXT FUCKING DAY because he got new games. They were mine.

He kept fucking tell me they weren't mine.

Before I left I was able to turn them over. My name was fucking on them. He told me he wrote it like that because I gave him the idea.

We were both 8.

I believed him.

I guess we'll obviate the Disney/Capcom canon.

What a weird time that was, when licenses meant more budget for quality and innovation instead of just aggressive blandness

Who in their right mind would do something that retarded if most if not all video game stories are merely necessary, run-of-the-mill, paint by numbers shovelware glue ripe with insultingly bad archetypes and tropes? I would./spoiler]

Seriously though, to which degree does the allure of the narrative and the craftsmanship and general quality of the storytelling factor into your enjoyment of a game? Is excellence in storytelling sufficient to make you look beyond deficits in gameplay? Let's get this discussion rolling or die trying.

I was going to type out a paragraph but I'll just give an example of an arcade game. Why an arcade game? Because arcade games more so than any other game rely on game play more than anything else.

Half of Outrun's appeal is the idea of having a hot girlfriend and driving by a bunch of palm trees in a Ferrari. That was its hook. It had fantastic gameplay too with the traditional arcade style "see how far you can go with that credit". But the simple story was the hook.
>>
I'm not so much into story as characters, but having some story-ish scenes or at least dialog while you play lets characters do various charactery things, so I enjoy getting to know the characters.

Yes, but in my case I prefer a good story in whatever I play, watch, read, or listen to.

Okay, I've been tired of all the bullshit threads fighting over this damn series

>Hurr rondo is better than X

>Hurr no SCIV is best

How about instead of the same old bullshit we just talk civilly about the games and why we like them? No fighting no bitching just discuss the games, the story why you like them, ect. Maybe even share music.

Remember opinions are opinions and they cannot be proven right or wrong so stop...

Everything you greentexted is misleading or conflates the wrong issues but that's okay because the technical comparisons are complicated. The reason you're retarded is because you're acting like the Saturn cost $100 more than the Playstation in perpetuity. It launched in May at $399 before PS had a price or release date and by November of the same year the Saturn dropped to $299 with VF Remix. Shit happens.

In terms of overall mechanics, it's the weakest, but still a good game.
