What do you guys think of Crusader: No Remorse? I know it has a killer soundtrack but that's about it, didn't give it a chance yet

Controls are kind of crap, sometimes things are kind of glitchy. I like what it was going for though but it's a bit clunky feeling. It's like a Isometric prince of persia with guns.
>>

This. I carry the No Remorse soundtrack around on my phone.

The sequel, No Regret, adds some movement niceties IIRC, but the soundtrack feels so forced, like they ran out of good ideas during the first soundtrack.

I never played these on PSX, only DOS. I wonder if a controller makes movement easier?
>>
its fraking awesome

its not like ur playing a bow rogue on diablo with Mouse + Keyb

so you have to get used to the controls, change them a bit, experiment, until you can use it without thinking about it,

you have relative and absolute rotation,
you have 8 directionals for: walk , jump, run, roll,

so its best to make use of CTRL ALT xxx... modifiers for these so you can use numpad for all movements

and since the world is a grid, you can pretty much plan ur movement to finish the roll aiming straight at the enemy and blast them before they...

How many Dreamcast games ported on later platforms are and are not better played on Dreamcast?

I think the Dreamcast might have the best version for most of the multiplat games it has. They either came out for the N64/PS1 which honestly couldn't compete, or they were disastrously ported to the PS2.

Ikaruga for DC was far superior to the GameCube version.

Maken X got a PS2 port that fucked up by putting it in third person

What are your thoughts on this short-lived franchise?

As much as I loved it as a kid (and to be contrary to some mouthy dink who liked Tekken), the series relied far too much on style for it to hold up, and years later, I can see why it sank into relative obscurity.

Still, it had its moments.

It had the advantage of being a launch title and serving as a tech demo of sorts. The sequels were too similar to each other but Subaru was pretty fun.

I don't even like fighters, what the fuck am I doing here.

Today is an important day for me. I found this video, which is of the 1st console I ever had and holds enormous nostalgia value to me.

Now I'm looking for information on how to get this ROM running. Does it exist? Can normal NES emulators even run it?

why wouldn't emulators be able to emulate?
>>
>>2929431
I've read somewhere additional chips were needed on the original hardware other than just the ROM. And since they're famiclones and not the official hardware, emulators probably don't cover it.
>>
>>2929423
I don't get it. They're hacked imperfect copies of NES games.

Literally some pirate has sat there with some cart reader/writer and modified good working retail games so they all fit on one cart and can be illegally sold.

That guy wasn't always perfect at his job, so some of the games have glitchy graphics or parts removed so the game is incomplete.

Wouldn't you get a better experience by playing the original working non-glitchy versions?

You can still buy these things...

Looking for Evolution 2: Far off promise for the Dreamcast (PAL version). Pretty rare game.
For trade/sale I got about half of all the PAL dreamcast set, reply to me if you want to buy any. I also have a few PAL Dreamcast systems and many controllers for it but I figure nobody here is interested.
>>
Im looking for Megaman X and Kirby Super star NTSC for SNES. I do however live in PAL region and would be willing to swap/buy and pay shipping
>>
>>2929375

Oh man, I remember having an opportunity to buy one of these with Power Points and passing on it when I was a teenager. I'm paring down my collection otherwise I'd go for it. Scratch or no scratch, $200 is a pretty good price, depending on your budget, based on what the nicer ones are going for. I'm not one for encouraging resller scum, but you should be able to get your money back if buyers' remorse hits you.

Paid $100 for FFXI at release with the hard drive, plus a few months of subscription. Paid $200 for my first arcade cabinet. Paid like $300 for my first PS2. I have much more valuable stuff than that, but that's the most I ever paid.

I recently came across a 5200 at goodwill and it came with a few games. One of games that came with the set was Frogger, but it came in this weird "software" box with the name of the game hand written on it. Does anyone have any more information about this box? I couldn't find anything online about it.

I bought this game on STEAM over the holiday break because it was only 2.50 and I find fighting games fun.

Unfortunately, none of my friends have it. Does anyone else on here have this and occasionally play it?

I can't guarantee that we'd be playing it all the time, but it would be nice to know a few people who do play who I could just play with online every now and then on the weekends or something.

You know how in the original TMNT you can walk into a room and see...
>flying head guy
>4 small blue hopping things
>2 balloons
But then you leave and re-enter and they've become
>lavaman
>4 eyeball plants
>2 red flying insects
Are there any other games that do this? Like, have the game choose which group of enemies will spawn in a level?

I'm confused by what you mean. So you want games where the enemies that appear in a given level are random?

One of the many systems overshadowed by the NES monolith, and later the dogfight between Nintendo and SEGA here in the US. I consider myself lucky I got to play with a Master System back when I was younger at my cousin's house. Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Double Dragon, California Games, Choplifter, lots of great games. Pretty much everyone I talked to before the internet days were completely confused whenever I mentioned it, and kept asking if I meant the Genesis.

Got a chance to play with the Philips...

I never even knew that Sega had mad a system prior to the mega-drive/genesis until years after they stopped making consoles

My school in 4th grade had a Philips CDi but only had the edutainment games that where basically just interactive encyclopedias. I thought it was pretty neat but didn't think I ha much potential for video games
