Why is Game Gear Columns so fucking comfy?
Back when I was a little kid, I remember playing Game Gear Columns under my blanket at night when everyone else was sleeping.
I really like the city at nighttime. Maximum comfy level reached playing with headphones in the dark with the only light coming from my game gear. I loved this game when I first saw my cousin playing at nighttime around level 9. I had some nirvana going on and was playing level 9 for a good 10 minutes or so before I couldn't clear anymore lines. My comfort level reached maximum potential.

Same here, except with GBC Tetris. Infinite portable games are perfect for cold winter nights.
why everybody hate this game?
People hate it?
Only legitimate complaint is that the ending and scoring system is broken

Sounds like Knuckles Chaotix, but bad.
Kain is deified. The clans tell tales of him. Few know the truth. He was mortal once...as were we all.
Moot was deified. The chans tell tales of him. Few know the truth. He was an underageb& weeb once...as were we all.

Over time we became less human and more...autistic. Moot would enter the state of change and emerge with a new board. Some years after the master, our evolution would follow.

Got bored of spamming this shitty thread on /v/ so you thought you'd give it a go on /vr/?
I recently played through this. it really is punishingly hard, although it's an excellent game. I like how they kept switching up the gameplay mechanics throughout.

to be specific, I meant the NES game, not arcade.

Games with funny game over screens. Engrish and cursing gives plus points.

This is the L3 game over screen.
>>2767270 is L1
and >>2767269 is L2.
I've yet to progress past L3... It does say it soon will be easy, but I'm not sure.
Not a game over screen, but this is a classic
Ok, a lot of people remember old tomb raiders fondly. And a whole lot remember legacy of kain franchise as well (granted, it went downhill on the ps2, but it is still well remembered). Why no one remembers fear effect? I remember it being fairly popular and even spawning its own image comics mini series.
Motha. Fuckin'. Fear Effect.
I occasionally watch longplays of both games just to appreciate how good they were. The cross between future-tech, chinese triad syndicate stuff, and the supernatural - especially chinese myths and legends. It all blends together so well.
Throw in multiple endings and a couple of twists and, much like Hana, you got a tasty pair.
Damn shame about Inferno though. Not to mention it wouldnt survive a reboot or being a classic survival horror, not today. RIP.

ITT: cool mini cutscenes in 16 bit games
Pretty cool seeing this the first time not knowing anything about it beforehand, I thought I was fucked.
;_;
>>2767125
What I like way more than cutscenes are silent realizations.
so, what order am I meant to be doing the dungeons here?
Ive done the ones in New Sorpigal, but the dungeons in Ironfist and Mist are raping me pretty bad unless I maximum cheese them.
It's an open world game. The whole point of open world games is that there isn't a fixed order.
>>2766931
still a difficulty order since its not level scaled.
How the hell did you beat Gharik's Forge that early?
With brawlers suffering the same fate as a lot of other once popular genres these days, what do you think were some missed opportunities for the genre during the height it reached in the arcade/SNES/MegaDrive days?
What sort of settings do you think were missed opportunities? We've had plenty of street gang games and a decent amount of classical medieval settings with a D&D styled party fighting through monsters. If you wouldn't have wanted a new setting, what good twists could have been applied to those?
Gameplay mechanics? We had simple combos for...

I wish there was more stuff like the Ninja Boy series. With the RPG elements and the weird feudal Japanese setting.
>>2766927
I've never played it, what are the RPG elements? I did a quick Google and from the screenshots it appears to have a JRPG world map and a money/levelling system. I quite like that idea, how much does it expand on it?
The feudal Japan setting is great. Now that I think about it, Goemon did the feudal setting with comedy elements very well. Shounen Ninja Sasuke was great too, visually beautiful.
>>2766941
You end up fighting bosses in a classic turn-based JRPG style. Disappointing to me tbh. I like a well made boss fight, especially if it tests your skill. The turn-based bosses feel weird, but they do give the game some charm.
IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?
>>2766760
ebin
Yes.
consoles still came with rf cables right up to the dreamcast and ps2
so theoretically you could play those on your game gear screen, too.
What is this thing and why does Bomberman have it?
>>2766656
antenna, to communicate with his fellow bombermen
According to the Bomberman 64 manual it's hisBENIS :D:D::D:DD
No mut seriously no idea. Probably an antenna
>>2766656
An antenna since he's meant to be a robot
Why does everybody on this board seem to hate Earthbound? Be honest. Is it because you can't afford it, so you've convinced yourself that the game is shit in order to justify not owning it?
I've never played the game, but I've noticed that it receives a lot of hate around here, and I'm genuinely curious.
>>2766030
It's the fanbase. At least that's what I think.
I bought it used in the year 2000 for $20, cart only. It was one of my favorite RPGs growing up, but the autistic fanbase has kinda soured my opinion on it and I refuse to discuss the game publicly with people anymore.
It still holds sentimental value for me though and I'll probably never sell it.
>>2766030
>Is it because you can't afford it,
It's on virtual console for 5 bucks.
Do you remember any of your friends or your sibling's friends stealing or borrowing any of your games and never giving them back?
My Pokemon Puzzle League is somewhere out there.
>>2765835
I let a classmate borrow Red Alert and never got it back.
Another classmate lent me Goldeneye in order for me to unlock a bunch of cheats, and it probably took me 2 months to return it, still lacking things like invincibility and silver pp7.
No, my friends were actually trustworthy. My family though...
My sister once tried to help a friend of her's steal my copy of SimCity on PC along with the required red sheet(copyright protection). Thankfully my dad played the game as well, and noticed the missing sheet quick enough to catch her. Fucking cunt.
I was that bastard since I didn't quite understand the "return" part of borrowing. Sorry Landon.
Can we have an Atari Jaguar thread? I've never owned one for real, and it's been years since I've emulated, but from what I've seen of it on YouTube some of its games are actually pretty impressive for 1993 tech. Now, I've heard it has an overall shitty library, but it can't be THAT bad if it has decent versions of Tempest 2000, Wolf3D, and Rayman.
Also, how far along has Jag emulation come in the last few years? Last emu I used was Project Tempest, and it didn't even work with half the games I tried with it.
>Can we have an Atari Jaguar thread?
its because very few people have actually played on one. All you are going to get are a bunch of AVGN parroted opinions
Nothing, eh? Not even an inane "where did you learn to fly?" comment.
Had a pretty good port of Doom, probably the best console version of Doom until the PS version (I hesitate to call Doom 64 a port because it's basically it's own game).
Lacks the music, but other than that it has most of the Game.
Has a kickass port of Wolfenstein 3D.
The CD addon was shit and really the only part of the console which can't in some way be defended.
What are your favorite frachises, /v/?
Pic very related
Favorite entry has always been Ocarina of Time.

It might sound a bit casual but Mario is probably my favorite series, if we limit it to the /vr/ stuff. That's including spinoffs like Mario Kart, Party and the RPGs. I love the platforers as well of course, but if we count each Mario spinoff as its own series seperate from Super Mario Bros. then each one equals a lot less than the whole, I think. If we count each Mario series (SMB, Kart, etc.) separately, then Metal Slug would be my overall favorite videogame IP.
