Hi, I just started recently to get serious with drawing in general and I have never done any sort of pen and paper drawing until then so right now I've been diving into figure drawing books and tuts left and right. At the same time I'm practicing with an Intuos Art Small but I'm planning to buy a Cintiq 22HD a year later once I've earned enough money.
How rough will the transition be? Would practicing with a tablet with no display be sort of wasting effort cause of the difference in size and the strokes I use with one compared to the other?

Get a big sheet of paper and a pencil and try it. If you can adjust to that then you can adjust to the Cintiq.
Literally only benefits
Welcome to the baller life
I want to draw like Bruce Timm.
What's the best way to start?
By reading the sticky and learning your fundamentals.
well study his work. learn anatomy and all the basics. I hate to say it, but Loomis. Bruce Timm's work is heavily influenced by 40s and 50s american fashion and art design, so you'll profit doubly by studying Loomis. check the klebrig for this.
also look at old fashion catalogues, vintage pin up & porn magazines and similar artists like sharon glines. pic related
good luck
I can honestly tell you that after countless hours spent drawing and designing and having little to no progress I found out that best way to develop an eye and steady hand as well as natural sense of aesthetic and "lightness"of strokes is worshipping Satan. I could tell you that after just a year of daily sacrifices and couple of hours of defiling I became better artists than I ever hoped to be. My eye is incredibly sharp (actually it's made of razors and grew on the back of my head) and if it comes to ligameme, my body is nothing but cancerous growth of ligaments...

SONG tries to bring this classic sculpture of my favorite demigod to life on his graphic tablet.
Why is his dick so much bigger?
This is hilarious.

Heyo,
I'm experiencing issues with a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 (20DM008FGE) when using its Wacom AES pen with Adobe products.
In Photoshop or Flash, the pen gets "stuck" for some time when tapping the display.
Anyone here had similar issues or similar setups?
Sketchbook, Krita works fine. Tried different Wacom drivers. I'm guessing it could be something multitouch related aswell, since after some time, all those little selection waves appear.
guessed I'd ask /ic/ before /g/
>>2502214
you probably installed the wrong drivers, or installed them improperly
i recently got the intuos comic and am having lag trouble with clip studio paint. Its annoying as fuck and i donĀ“t know how to fix it.
ITT Art you have burned in your mind.
this piece is one of his lesser known works and also is the one that has had the biggest impact in me.
I'm not sure if anyone really wants to see a statue with child nudity
I just love the pose and the beauty of it

I can see why.
We often talk about "making it", but what does 'making it' mean to you?
Some people want to work in an art related industry like cartoons, comics or video games. Some people want to make their own thing and hope to find huge success with it somehow. Others might want to draw young girls(?) getting bottomed-out by nightmarish rape monsters with unnaturally large, pluralized penises.
For one guy it was illustrating a small article in a dying parody magazine
Is there anything you could achieve as an artist that would reduce you to a...

For me making it would be drawing creepy weird shit that is both fascinating and terrifying like the stuff you could have found on /f/reakshow art threads somewhere around 2011.
...alternatively to get to the Takashi Murakami level.
Me personally? Doing this in a crowded coffee bar in 10-15 minutes.
>>2500562
I like this a lot, got a page?
is the secret to having a popular art blog on tumblr not actually as much the quality of your work but rather how much you reblog and consume other peoples dashboard?
>>2500374
I only fuck around with instagram, but if the tumblr normie art community is ANYTHING like it is on IG, then yes yes fuck yes its way more about how much you interact/reblog/consume etc
>TUMBLR
>Post carefully crafted, meaningful, highly technical work for 1 year and half, no response, sometimes I get one or two likes weeks/months later, reblogs literally never happen.
>Post Splatoon lewds and sfw fanart, sketchy, not refined, wathever, get a few notes and reweets right away.
K, its ok, I understand now.
:,)
>>2500386
I like to have a tight little blog with my art and a few really cool things that ive reblogged or posted
but now im just going to rebogg everything I vaguely like but assume other will
I wish there was a way to keep reblogs from showing up on your main page
Basically i need help with Homework below,as an IT student i lack philosophical capability.
My colors are brown + green
explain the meaning of when a single colour is used and how the meaning changes in a combination.
fuck off
>>2502481
It's not philosophical. It's just what associations people have with colours. Some of it is cultural, like how pink is for girls and blue is for boys...pink used to be considered a masculine colour for boys since it is like a weaker red, and red is for men. Other colour associations are more genetic, like if you have blue food it isn't appetizing because that's a colour of moulds.
When colours are combined they may have certain associations that are cultural (red + green = christmas, red...

Green by itself is often used to indicate a positive status. Power On. System running optimally or within safe limits. Green stoplight = go. Etc.
Green + Brown feels earthy. Probably a common color scheme for eco-friendly or organic stuff. With the shades you've chosen and with the white sans-serif text, even more so.
I'll probably just try this tomorrow but can you put diluted fountain pen ink into a pentel aquash brush? I have black and gray.
>>2503085
Ya, you don't even need to dilute it. You can also put acrylic and india inks in there, but they might clog the brush if you leave it in there.. I mean for like months.
>>2503085
careful though, you will waste alot of ink if you do that !
>>2503116
>>2503114
That's why I was thinking of diluting it, so as not to waste, because it seems like the capacity is a lot larger than a fountain pen.
Yea I have a feeling india ink would be better (cheaper too) but I was just trying to use what I have. Fountain pen ink is water-based though so I assumed that would help with any potential clogging.
Also what about the Pentel Pocket Brush? Could you put a fountain pen ink in those cartridges with a syringe?

Don't fuck around with a tiny little shitty tablet or you will NEVER make it.
This is the best tablet (for the money) just to let you know; a great starting point. Don't think that you need anything better than this 'cause you don't. I've used pretty much everything else so take it from me bruh

I'm gonna be starting a skype group with daily challenges and shit like that (you dont have to participate in em though.)
anyone who wants to join, add me at mubsee123 and I'll be adding you to the group.
>>2501736
this guy is too cool for the discord, lass and the 3 other skype groups.
Why is everyone always trying to start groups and shit? Just post challenge threads on /ic/ for everyone to see and participate.
>>2501810
everytime i seen a challenge thread i seen the same response.
no requests.
pay me for my art.
What do you draw when you can't think of what to draw, /ic/? I'm sure we all have uninspired moments but I'm also sure many of us soldier on through it.
And yes I mean you, I'm not asking for suggestions.
Pic related for me, I seem to draw them a lot when I'm stumped on subject matter.
I'm a mathematician so things like the Koch snowflake, Sierpinski gasket, Menger sponges, projections of boxes from hyperbolic space to the Euclidean plane, boxes using n-point perspective in the limit as n goes to infinity, the Weierstrass function, Cayley graphs for various groups, and penises.
>>2496882
I think that deserves a /thread.
>>2496866
Go outside and draw whatever you see. Draw something in your house you have never drawn before. Draw something you have always been afraid to draw. Come on, brah, you can literally draw anything.
So I have to go to art exhibitions with my university and hold small presentations before the art works. They are shit and boring. How do I act like it's the greatest thing in the world?
Just act neutral and informative.
>>2502815
post the work. if you have basic formal analysis skills it shouldn't be a problem. whatever the work is, research the context and goals of the movement/style. you don't have to like it, you can discuss how it fails to achieve its goals if you do so intelligently. art criticism is more than just praise.
>>2502816
>>2502818
Yeah I get that. The thing is: I have to propose some ways in which the particular artwork/style can be integrated into a school lesson. (It's a seminar for future teachers) I can't just say: "I'd never let my students do shitty stuff like this."
I basically have to act like it's the shit.
Its rare to find such a multi talented individual; a skilled youtuber who can only only draw as well as the masters but make insightful videos on important current events such as the follies of feminism
We, along with many of our so called living "masters" who only know how to draw and nothing else should learn from him
the average youtuber knows who mrrepzion is, but very few know so called "masters" like Todd Lockwood, James Gurney or anything

Not since Mike Matei have I seen a more talented artist
