Hey /ic/

not sure if this is the right board to be posting in, so my bad if it is.

I want to print some designs onto plastic acetate/transparency sheets.

What am I looking for in the spec of my printer to see if it is capable of this?

http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/Product/Specifications.do?sku=C11CC33201

Thanks

Why won't sculptors ever sculpt the vag?
They all make men with dicks but women with barbie doll anatomy.
>>
>>2405762
because they have yet to see a baggina

ayyyy
>>

The vagina is a mostly internal organ that is not typically highly visible outside of intentionally sexually graphic poses, which are not a good choice for public sculpture. Additionally, sculptors of female nudes usually favor closed thighs because this is naturally how women stand due to a wider pelvis; and much greater impression of femininity can be expressed by the difference in width of waist, hips and knees when the thighs are together. I have not really noticed a non-pornographic female sculpture shy away from depicting the mons pubis or cleft of the vulva, when it should be showing dependent upon the tilt of the individual model's pelvis.

Omission of a penis is rarely done, because as you've already noticed, it's very prominent anatomically.

I dunno, I guess there are some genital-less sculptures out there. I'd like to see some if you have any images. Kinda feel like you're looking at a lot of pornographic photos and artwork that over-exaggerates the visibility of female genitalia though.

Posts like this are just attempts by plebs to rationalize their laziness. You can become a pro without having to give up everything in your life to study and "get gud".

We get it, you don't want to do art for a living or any other type of job that asks you to work more than 40 hours a week. Even people with a "regular" 9 to 5's spend their lives working and taking care of real life shit most of their time.

There are plenty of real life examples of hard working professional artists who have families, lives and do tons of cool shit.

Stop being lazy.

sai's so easy to make them with though

Do you have brushtexs and elemaps? just slap that shit together till you find something you like.

There's no brushes that are going to help your fundamentals or magically make your values or edgework look good, just as a preemptive warning.

Aside from Vilppu, what are some other great sources that teaches you the fundamentals of gesture drawings. About to attend some gesture drawing classes in the next few months, and aside from studying anatomy and form, I was wondering what other books teaches you how to gesture within the time limit.

Obligatory michael hampton "Figure Drawing: Design and Invention" and proko's gesture videos suggestion.
>>
Steve Huston does explain gesture, both theoretical and practical.
>>

Can a powerful artfag dispense wisdom here?

After studying some proko the pictures that OP linked don't strike me as gesture drawings. They have a minimal amount of gesture to them, Rather they seem more like contour drawings.

Would I be accurate in this statement?

So I have made through dynamic sketching exercises by Peter Han. What should I do next? By that question I mean - in what order should I learn all those things like anatomy, figure drawing, values and such? I don't like Loomis that much, can you recommend me something else which is about the same stuff?

Oh dear god no.

I mean during the first stage of the thing, the forms were constructed in a non-discrete version of the cubist method on the room I was in, but thats it. The rest was just noodling.

Kind of looks like a carved Christ.

I am very new to digital art (this being my like 3rd ever attempt)
I've been drawing for years traditionally so the transition has been relatively easy.
I would just like some feedback or pointers on how to improve, negatives and positives are welcome. I am looking to get a real realistic finish, am I doing anything wrong so far?

note: I do not trace because let's be fair, it takes no skill to trace.

Whats wrong with tracing? It's only bad if you claim you made it. Tracing for studying is perfectly fine
>>
>>2404958
proportions seem to be good, and the subject is recognizable.

Looks pretty flat overall. Whatever your doing with the neck isn't reading well. I'm not sure about the marks you left in around eyes and ears... it's not so much that they're bad... but they don't fit really well with the rest of the composition.
>>
>>2405310
OP: I agree with you- but I'm just trying to improve getting proportions right so tracing would make that void

Anyone else get the problem of photoshop slowing down when they hit ALT to color pick?

Fuck it's driving me crazy

LOL at me

I found the solution after 2 minutes of googling. putting this out here for some of you who maybe also colorpick compulsively and are annoyed by alt slowing them down

https://code.google.com/archive/p/apssistant/downloads

super easy simple well made little tool that blocks alt key opening photoshop menu bar.
