Never. Artists at that level will always be hired based on what they can offer to the company, not how cheap they can do their work. Especially when it comes to animation, where art direction, storyboards, character designs etc are the main reasons of what makes a movie successful.

No big company will ever choose to save a couple thousand bucks on hiring cheap artists while losing millions of $ due to an inferior end product as a result of that.

Hey /ic/ where do i start with animating something like pic related? Hanna-Barbera, low budget animation.
What programs do I use?
What format should i stick to? Is flash viable option?
How long would it take to create 1-minute animation with 2 different backgrounds and about 6 moving characters?

I have posted in on /co/ but they are just quoting karl pilkington.

Adobe Flash is a good start. Look up some tutorials on how to accomplish what you want. As for how long it would take, it's difficult to say. What are the 2 backgrounds? What are your two characters doing? It could take anywhere from a day to a week, depending on how good you want to make it. Animation is arguably one of the most time consuming and least rewarding work processes ever, meaning it requires a lot of patience.

This is of course assuming you've got a tablet and know how to draw.

How do you draw from imagination? I can draw or paint anything in front of me and make it look like a photo on paper. I can't however draw anything that's not in front of me or without reference. I can't do anything really imaginative or otherworldly---no dragons or hot babes in from Heavy Metal. Any exercises or tips to fix this?

By virtue of how deliberate the light is going to be in the piece in order to pull it off, you'll have to consider it it's own character. The sketches are hard to compare because they both evoke different moods - think cinematography. How does it feel if a character is spot lit versus lit softly from behind?

That said, your draft colors are extremely dark. It might just be because it's a rough idea, but look to Cornwell, Grimshaw, or Levitan to see how they handled moonlit situations - a lot of it is about keying your piece, and the color of the light and the shadows. It all depends on what special thing you want to say with the piece; if high contrasting values don't fit the mood, then find out what it is that evokes a feeling of moonlight and go back into the piece with values that fit closer.

Hey creators! I'm a beginner ish artist looking to step up my game and purchase pencils etc so I can improve shading and overall my drawings obviously. Do you think this would be a good buy? http://www.amazon.com/Pro-18-Piece-Sketch-Draw-Pencil/dp/B000HTBBO8#immersive-view_1457537477998 thanks!

I've never heard of the brand Pro Art.
I'd recommend going to a local art shop and picking out a few loose pencils above buying a set like that.
If you're anything like me, you don't end up using half the things in the set.

Hi,
I'm thinking of doing some modeling for an art class. The only problem is I don't know any poses.

Can anyone help me out and post some images of good poses?

Wrong place to advertise, weirdo.

this ridiculous art
of which we're all part
of striving to strive
or pretending to care
that something is there
it's light and it's dark
what a foolish remark
to think we all live
through the same bullshit dream
we don't understand
we don't give a damn
