I feel like i'm slowly losing interest in art recently. And by recent, I mean for the past 3 months. I spend only about 10 mins on something before I scrap it and try again in a few days.
what does /ic/ do in times like these?
>>2442777
jerk off and play dota.

please be week one

I'm actually on the same boat as you anon, with the exception that sometimes I spend 20mins on sketching random shit and get bored afterwards. Sometimes ending up slowly building one page with a sketch a day, makes me feel quite autistic desu.
Perhaps do a day of what theme you like to do (e.g. people, creature and/or paleo art) and try to fill a couple of pages of ketches or, if you do digital, do more than 3 speedpaints or observation studies. All of this while listening to calming cinematic music scores sometimes helps.
What do you guys think about how I drew my girlfriend? Does she looks alike? How can I make it better?
now do it from memory
>>2441605
its flat and the nose and mouth are pretty shit
This is a silly question but, does anyone any tips on making a good and legible.
>>2444221
yes is called "you don't need a signature"
>>2444221
a watermark of your signature
>>2444243
Then how will ADs find you when they see your work on some random interwebs site? Because apparently ADs are too fucking stupid or lazy to use tineye or google reverse image search.
What software does /ic/ use for face modelling etc.? Or do you use perhaps some games instead of it?
blenders sculpting tool with dyntopo and symmetry mode enabled
I've also used zbrush in the past, which is pretty popular
I don't think it really matters what you use, as long as you can sculpt the thing you want to sculpt using your tablet without too much trouble. At least I'm not using the results directly anyway.

It doesnt really matter on how late you start but how many hours you spend and how you spend them
So, I'd like to share this and listen to some critics, what do you guys think?
If you can't be bothered to correct the orientation of your image correctly why should anyone care about giving you helpful critique?
>>2443748
>correctly
Dude I have a damn phone that has become self aware so I struggle a lot and i currently dont have a scaner! Could you bear with me?
>>2443745
>not in the draw thread
>sideways image
>gives lip to people the people who are going to take time to critique him
took a little too long to realize this was a bait thread to be honest family
I went to the art store today and bought like +$300 worth of art supplies I dont need (pic related). Not the first time I do it. How do I fix this problem /ic? cant walk into an art store anymore... sigh got me some prismacolor and carbothello, and some cheap oil pastels too

You use it. Fun fact, wheat paste and watercolour pigment mix very well. Use for coloured transparent paste in collage.
have a budget
only take a certain amount of money with you
ask yourself if you really need it or can it wait

Want to hear from you people with ADHD and or dyslexia. There’s a good chance this post will give you anal cancer. Fair warning.
TL:DR; Got ADHD? Tell me if/ how it affected your drawing progression.
Part 1
Aspirations for traditional style animation (think Avatar LAB, Samurai Jack, etc). Part of the skillset I’m working on is to be able to draw figures from any angle with little to no reference. Started drawing ~3 years ago, went hardcore about a year ago; 8+ hours each day, no videogames, no boyfriends, no bullshit distractions. Saved up enough to live...

Part 2
-Are you still improving at a decent rate despite having a lot of thoughts that have little if nothing to do with what you’re drawing during practise.
-Is just the act of drawing a shit ton enough to improve at least somewhat? Or is it pretty much time wasted as soon as you zone?
-What techniques are you using to stay present in the work?
-Do you think your progress is on par with the average practitioner?
I will. Suck. Your. Dick. If you can produce some relevant peer-reviewed articles on ADHD and drawing. All the articles I’ve seen have been...

As a person with severe depression and reading that you committed yourself to this is incredible. There are countless consecutive days where I can't even look at my art supplies. Good on you for sticking with it, and good luck with your replies.
Drew a lot as a kid was considered prodigy. ADD helped me hyper focus on whatever was obsessed with at the time and block out teachers, parents etc and draw on everything and at times it was not appropriate. Life got shittier around 12 and gave up drawing since, trying to get back into it Currently and wish I hadn't let other things get in the way. Keep at it and don't lose it. Become as obsessed as you can with something and finish sketches if possible. Your ability to detail and sketch is probably superb but the rest is likely shit. Try focusing on the boring parts...

Hey /ic/,
I'm mentoring this guy who's a newbie in drawing and he asked me why he should draw on traditional media first when he can just do everything digitally (He even bought a fucking cintiq when I told him NOT to but hey, it's his money)
Any answers to his question? I can't quite find the right words to reply him :U
>>2443201
Simple.
You can't build a house if you don't know how to make a foundation. It's always better to learn the basics on the simplest format possible, because then you can apply those same basics to any piece of work, and just learn the new specific techniques that come with using varied mediums.
>>2443213
He wants to only draw digitally, (which I find a really dumb thing to limit yourself to just 1 media) so any answers I might give him is just "Why don't I learn it digitally instead of figuring how to transfer it to digital media?"
>>2443213
Exactly what I was going to say
I want to work in the animation industry. Doing graphic novels, working in places like Cartoon Network, Disney and networks like that. Right now im studying Graphic design cause is the closest thing my university has to an Art Career. Eventually once i get to finish college i will go to a Basic Art School and later to a French school or who knows maybe CalArts . Anyway I would love to get into Animation from the get go but i can't quit College, so I'm stuck in Graphic Design for now. I'm on the right path?
>>2437794
1. Start animating now "you only need sai/ps/flash/easytoon and huion tablet"
2. Do your research

just get good honestly. make a few cuts for your portfolio, move to japan, and then die poor. that's p-much all m8.
>>2437794
>Want to learn animation
>Takes graphic design
>Am I on the right path guise?
Obviously you know the answer to that is no. Graphic design and animation are wildly different things.
Just start drawing. Quit college, you don't need it if you're not going to do graphic design moron, and i doubt those credits will transfer to calarts so you're wasting your time.
You could die tomorrow and...

RRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Is permanoobs dying? I don't go there anymore but it still makes me kind of sad to see that community go down the drain. /ic/ is just /ic/, it's in a league of its own, hate it or love it.
I guess that's it for me then. Neither reddit nor fb feel right to me...
Where to go to get critique and a competitive collective environment?
This place is also dying, it is slow as fuck, there is more shitposting and I just can't stand nose bro.
>>2442414
It's always been this fast
>>2442425
The post rate maybe but the ratio of shitposting has skyrocketed. Makes everything feel much too fast.
It seems like no one bothered to stick around.
do you like my paint? Do i have future in painting? Rate my paint
>>2443603
no, probably not, 4/10
>>2443605 How about a drawing then?
>>2443624
no, probably not, 5/10
you only have a future if you put in massive hours like the rest of those who have a future.
