hi /ic/
how to practice drawing when you are in class ? (highschool/college)
Draw dicks on your worksheets.
I'm in high school. It isn't that hard.
That is of course if you're willing to make an academic disappointment out of yourself and spend an extra one or two years making up credits. But hey it's all worth it to be at least ok at art.
>>2378688
Focus on class white you are in class. If you get bad scores on SAT/ACT and shit grades getting into college for anything becomes a lot harder. Draw at home.

i rate 9/11

>>2378821
i didnt notice it was pillow shading till you said that
I want to be a successful studio artist in the entertainment industry. But I want to avoid California if at all possible, despite the industry there being huge.
What other locations are hot spots for 2D/3D entertainment art?
>>2376556
But you can lane split through traffic and get home four times as fast to do your art.
Shit posting aside, doesnt Washington state have some stuff?
Canada
I think there's a few studios in Austin, Seattle, New York, Toronto, Vancouver...
Basically any liberal-oriented city.
Opinions?

I almost wish you finished that river. But it still looks great without it.
Personally, I would have given the small bits on the bottom more details, but this looks fine like it is
Really enjoy this. Well done
how true is this!

Eh. Why watch this when you can be drawing instead? People like different things. I saved you the time OP.
>>2369390
absolute boss
>>2369404
good point i agree but also see that one one side even at art schools its a dumbing down of creative free thinkers and in away trapping them into believing that they are free and making forward progress in art meanwhile its actually a degradation to society, but your totally right tho seriously.
A drawing of the moon I just made

Newfag here, also poorfag. Last time i drew something was probably 3 years ago, but i'm willing to work hard to get good. I got only 30 dollars to spend on art supplies, but don't know what to buy. What supplies/brands does /ic/ recommend? There are no art stores around here where i live so i thought i might aswell buy it online.
>>2380206
stacks of printer paper and biros
Charcoal and chalk. Read loomis, practice form. We're all gonna make it brah
>>2380206
the guy that made the christ chan comics drew on printer paper and a dollar store lead holder
stop giving excuses
I don't know about artists, painters or sculptors but I like art and I watched a youtube video dissing modern art for being garbage, pretentious and complaining about how stupid it is. I just don't agree, I think they're looking at art by how long it takes to make it / how much effort is put into making it instead of just letting themselves feel it. I definitely see why most people would think it's stupid, and I am going to sound pretentious but they really just can't understand it. Probably because THEY are the ones too far up their own ass to appreciate...

bait harder, maybe you will make an art out of it
I went to art school for 5 years so I've kindof gotten a taste of what it would be like to be in the mindset and setting of a flaky gallery artist. I think it would actually be really interesting to be into modern art or the gallery scene in general. Looking form the outside in modern art seems like the dumbest most pointless thing in the world... and it is... but being in that world is a whole different story. There's a constant development of concepts and people all over the world are participating in it... It sounds neat actually.
Modern art is like memes,...

>modern art is pretentious
we know
To all the non-"professional porn artists" here...
In case you actually draw nsfw stuff on the side:
Do you post it online?
Do you choose to only post mild ero art, or do you actually post hardcore or fetish porn?
How do you keep it seperate from your normal art?
Are you afraid of other people to find out about the nsfw stuff?
>>2378936
No.
No.
I don't.
They won't find out.
>>2378936
I usually just post all my adult content on here. I don't sell it or have a patreon for it because people torrent that shit anyways, so my only real motivation is I'm either drinking and want to see naked bitches or I'm just in the mood to just post it and ignore when anons ask for my tumblr. I usually do sfw shit, and would rather not be known for my nsfw shit, due to trying to maintain a portfolio which I can use for everyday customers.
I go by only one name, I don't fucking care anymore. I gave maybe one shit about people finding out when i was 16 and tried to attend an art school, they didn't take me, man. They didn't want me to be with "normal" 16 year olds because I forgot to rip out a drawing of a teenage gril getting dicked when i showcased my sketchbook.
Life is pain man but know what helps? Money. And you make good money with half decent, half assed fetish porn. I'm bitter and the world is ugly, I don't feel the need to hide my fetish porn anymore, everyone knows.
Just do it
Can we all just acknowledge the amazing talent, creativity and imagination of this amazing artist?

Jesus fucking christ people.
It looks fine
Your thread is still complete shit and obviously doing one of two things:
Promoting yourself in a really hamfisted way
Intentionally promoting somebody else in a hamfisted way, possibly ironically, to piss off /ic/.
I'm guessing option two - fuck off either way.
>>2376972
Get back to me when you find someone that has the ability to successfully stylize a believable figure from imagination without relying on reference for how form is affected by light, referencing hands, faces, etc.
Then and only then would I be impressed.
>>2376972
are you hating? did that guy get hired over you and now you are mad as fuck? boyo you should see the people that get hired over ME, THEN you would understand...
>look through old computer
>find this

the fuck
Post how you draw now.

Are there any current day artists out there who are good at imitating the Frank Frazetta style and are willing to take commissions?
Just curious - how much are you expecting to pay?
>>2376956
only the guy who paint doto2 comics but i doubt he will take commissions
>>2376956
500-800$ please, half upfront after approving sketch, half after delivery of low res file, after full payment is made full res file is sent your way.
This is presumably a painting by Michael Jackson. Do you know any other singers/actors, who do/did art as a hobby?
>inb4 John Lennon

John Lennon did some nice modern art
