-heckler calling cheat on deviant.
-someone else prove heckler just is a butthurt by using logic and his other works.
-heckler too stupid to admit he is wrong.

Seriously this guy is a god-tier hyperrealistic
artist. Can people stop shittposting on his deviant and admit he is just good?

Why is being Good not trusted nowadays?

How can artist give back trust to common people?

I talked to Nadar, he is a nice guy. There is shittstrom on him for no reason.

When you see his step by step it look clearly hand painted.

When I look the industry a lot of things could look fake but in fact it is a matter of skill. I bet Davinci art was called cheat during his time. Ignorant people just can t understand process and still believe magic exist.

There is no magic just skills.

Can you believe how pleb they have become? Some guy went as far as to color a Nagel illustration in yellow to say it was the same style. I'm outraged.

How do you make an object look 3D/not like symbol shit with just line art? Even drawing with a 3D mindset/drawing what I see, it comes out looking horrid. I've watched Prokos vids a million times but I still seem stagnant. Especially when it comes to "building form". I thought I could do that, but apparently it still seems like symbol drawing garbage.

Start simple. boxes, cilinders, pyramids. Once they start to look fine, use different perspectives. (pick not related).
>>
>>2380031
The trick is drawing a lot (and mainly from life) and trying to make it either realistic or at least simplified in a geometric way (not in a cartoony or anime way because you want to break your bad habits at first). If drawing is becoming frustrating do some sculpting with clay or plasticine from anatomy books (i recommend Peck for this)

>>
>>2378632

The intuos3 9x12 is the best tablet on the market. Not kidding. A lot of pro artists have a couple of those stashed under their beds, out of fear that their current one might break and they have to buy one of the crappier newer models. I have never tried the Huion h610 pro, but personally I would not buy chinese knock off quality products.

1) You don't need your own thread
2) It's clumsy, you didn't even bother with the hands, and your "focusing" on rhythm and gesture failed and there's zero form anyway.
3) Don't put filters on your drawings you fucking dolt.
4) Don't fucking do the drawabox exercises in pencil jfc the dude reminds you every single lesson

I want to fill the whole page with a neat "garage" scene. How does it look so far? any critique?

I'm away from home and most of my materials and I need to order a set of acrylic paints for an upcoming university course. Preferably from the Blick website. Which one is the best/should I get?

cheap shit or student grade, no point in getting the best of the best when skill matters far more than what you paint with...

remember, frazetta did his watercolor work with a mickey mouse paint set.

I got a list with recommended materials.

I've recently discovered his work and bought one of his artbooks, it's the title in the OP.

I've begun scanning it as I want some of his pictures without paying tons of cash, but the thing is that the images will need to be cleaned among other things. Any Nagelphile up to the task? Or know how I would do it?

Scanning a book is a really hard job.
You need to despine the book or else many pages will have a blur because of the spine.
You need a very good scanner and some twers in phtoshop.
So unless you want to trash your book don't bother.

First time posting here, alarmingly nervous.

Long story short, I have been teaching myself to digitally paint for a couple of years. I started with the 1-layer approach, painting everything clumsily as if the image was a canvas, like how I oil paint. I moved on to the one million layer technique and found it frustrating.

Now, I sit on this technique: Sketch, make a half decent lineart, underpaint in greyscale, then use a multiply layer for color, and an opaque layer for highlights. Background gets its own layer or two as needed.... Problem is, the figure always looks like its disconnected from the image. Is this just a side effect of the selection border I use? It seems like a mask would have the same problem. How would I go about softening the edges? Should I just abandon the idea of using separate layers for figure and background, and render them simultaneously? That would be a little more headachy, but would do better results I imagine...

Work on your shading/coloring in order to blend him in. Look at the leg and tail of the dragon in this example and compare it to yours.
>>
Yeah, I see it. The crisp edged highlights from the light bouncing off the ground around that dragon-chan. AIght,t hat would certainly be a start. I've always found my figures look super hard edged... I think maybe matching the palette a bit more would be wise too, the background of my dragons is kinda mustard-y compared to him.

Yeah I see your problem. The layers you're using to make selections have too hard edges.

In photoshop you can right click a layer and select "Create clipping mask" which will make the layer you're on use the one below it for its alpha.

Notice how my dragon has blurry edges and then when I turn the clipping mask on the purple bits take on the blurryness. You need those soft edges so that your dragon will blend into everything behind it a bit.

Obviously you still also need to study lighting and form so you can paint something really convincing but hopefully this solves your problem.
