Have you practiced your circles today, /ic/?
Is this a meme or is this a legitimately important/useful excercise?
>>2294116
yes, but not doing it for hours upon hours.
>>2294117
Okay, so I guess 1 - 2 pages a day should be enough?
And do you also draw them in perspective or do other things with them?
Or is it LITERALLY just pic related for a few pages?
Hi. I'm new to /ic/ but not to drawing, and artwork. check it out! 1/many. This is all my own work. What do you think?
Can you do it /ic/?
I want to now.
>>2293122
put an "or" between each of them and maybe
>>2293122
100 value studies and 100 colour sketches are impossible in a day. Even if you only spend 5 minutes each (which is pretty useless) you would take like 20 hours to do them all.
How can I put this...
Reference sites and search engines have become too artificial for me. Everything is extremely symbolic, stereotypical, posed.
I want to find natural-looking images of regular people.
Does /ic/ have any solution for that? The best I can think of is stalking some Facebook public accounts.
>>2292966
Don't even bother, go outside and sketch people in their natural environment. Sports games, transit cafes anywhere really.
Fucking can't even use photo refs anymore, I can reproduce from them but making a piece contain life is a ton harder.
>>2292966
G-go outside?
> The best I can think of is stalking some Facebook public accounts.
Why do you think this would be any better? It's all people knowing they're being photographed or photographing themselves, there's nothing natural about it.
I do get sick of a lot of reference images looking stiff and posed, though. Or are just in really impractical, stupid poses to begin with. I get it when you're trying to learn anatomy these can be useful but they're shit as references for anything else. I notice this most when I'm...

Keys to drawing exercise
The light was weird.
My hand twitches a bit if I try to keep it perfectly still in the air. Hands.
What is a good tablet upgrade from cheapo Chinese knockoff Huion?
Is intuos 3 better or about the same?
>>2292389
>getting this memed by brands
The Huion is fine, what you get for the extra you're paying for Wacom it's nowhere near worth it. Wacom is literally the Apple of tablets at this point.
>>2292805
at least it's guaranteed quality.
i was thinking aswell to get a huion 1060, but dunno if it would better to get an used intuos 4 or pro (i've seen some for 150 bucks)
How can someone with no knowledge of mechanics whatsoever avoid making awards mistakes while drawing machines from imagination?
Also, references on the subject would be appreciated.
By studying mechanics.
>>2291905
Who did those robots in the pic?
>>2291905
All you need to study is joints. I'm serious. That makes or breaks the believability of mech designs. Assuming you are at a level where balancing the weight is not an issue for you anymore. Because if you draw a T-rex mech with a gigantic cockpit popping out forward, but no counterweight it will look so awfully wrong.
lets get a graff thread going post yours or anyones work

We need a new Self Portrait thread
Just did this one in 25~30 min.
>ic self portrait thread
>half of them try to pose edgy and the other half does shitty cartoon portrait
>>2294234
I seriously did not tried to pose in any way. I was just looking at the mirror.
>>2294264
With a cigarette in your mouth.
Even if you're always smoking the fact you spent 20-25 minutes looking at yourself in a mirror with a cig sticking out of your lips is telling.

I bet you were so excited to put your work as the OP image
>>2300568
Too concerned with the rendering. You've lost sight of the whole thing--just look at how nothing relates to each other, how awkward the pose is, how the proportions are off, the face doesn't match the body, the feet aren't planted on the ground etc.
>>2300570
maybe if you draw, you'll have something that you'll be excited to share with us as well :^)
Ask all of your art related questions in one convenient thread!
I don't have the FAQ, pastebin thing, so if someone could post a link, that would be great.

How do I stop myself from chicken scratching? I can't draw a line the way I want to without drawing it like 3 times and then merging them
Does it come with time or am I supposed to consciously avoid it
Is there something like a recommend pencil grade for beginners? Or rather something to stay away from?
