HI there, I literally am the only person who can not improve from art. I've tried for years and I can't improve. I'm the rare person who can't ever get better at art no matter how much I practice.

Is there hope for me? I've tried and tried, but to no avail has anything worked.

You're not either not practicing right, or not practicing hard enough. Don't mindlessly copy, try to apply lessons to personal work, read the sticky.

If you keep doing the same mistakes over and over again you'll keep doing the same mistakes over and over again.
>>
>>2299237
I've done plenty of tutorials, read plenty of art, looked at loomis.

Nothing works.

>>2299238
And, how come I can't learn from these mistakes. I've tried and tried and i'm constantly told that I never improve and that art isn't for me. What am I supposed to do with this?

Can you make a living as an illustrator while keeping your personal life out of it? It seems like internet is filled with weird nerds who like to invade people's personal lives the moment they do or say something they don't like.

I'd like to make some cash on the side with my illustration, but I don't want people going after my facebook or my friends or knowing who I am.

LOL no. your work only has as much value as you manage to inflate it into by self promoting and become an e-celebrity.

Simply operate under a pseudonym. It's been working for me so far. Just be careful not to have any connections to your rl information whatsoever. Don't put your real name on invoices and be careful not to give out TOO specific information and bam. I draw porn, so I don't want this coming back to me at all. I'm so paranoid, people aren't sure if im male or female-- which suits me just fine.

Basically, if you keep doing the same thing, you become good at one single thing. No more.

I'd call him "100 sameface portraits painter of the generation" easily.

I have read tons of Loomis but I still don't get how you are supposed to draw figures in extreme perspective angles. There was something about arcs of movement, but even there it was said that you should try to draw them until they "feel right".

It it really the case that you first memorize anatomy and then based on that knowledge try to imagine how it would look like in perspective and keep drawing and fixing until you will gradually learn to draw it right?

To clarify I meant drawing from imagination, not real life where drawing what you see is enough so long as you can get in the flow.
>>
>>2298890

Also I know about perspective already and that figures should face the vanishing points/eye level etc.

I'm not really in a position to comment considering I've only just started with figure drawing, but it seems like thats the case. You figure out box/spherical/cylindrical forms and how they look at any angle and pair that with an understanding of proportion...

Have you been thinking about stopping the whole thing? Like, we will die, all of us. Why should we go for that suffering and go through all that hard ass shit. If you really want to enjoy life, just draw mediocre but enjoyable art. There is no reason to force that pain upon yourself, as I said, you will die eventually, what's the point of improving your skills?

Expressing the suffering in the pointlessness maybe even giving the tools needed to rise above the suffering of the mundane.

Art isn't about getting good, is that why you play games?

good? no.

good enough? probably.

Study some pixel art tutorials as well as anatomy. A dedicated pixel art forum like pixeljoint would be best for you.

depends on how it's animated

if you animated dog shit well you could have a decent fg character
>>
>>2298383
Right now I quit on the idea of even animating this, is too much effort.

Right now I just want to download spriter and see what I can do.

I'm not even a pro artist and I'm hoping some coder will help me.

It really depends what style you like and what qualities in art you value. Personally I like people such as Van Dyck, Velazquez, Kramskoi, Serov, Repin, Franz Hals, Boldini, Rembrandt, and Freud. Do some research and see what artists you like and what time period they are from--usually there are other artists from the same school or country that have similar styles.

/ic/, is there any market at all for non-sexual character based commissions?

I'm in a bit of a deadlock right now because there is nowhere in town I can get a job (you can't get a job without experience but can't get experience without a job) and am thinking of starting to do commissions. Problem is I'm still living with my parents, who are rather prudish, abd they monitor my bank account, and sexy (not always porn) art seems to be the only thing that sells. If I draw "hot" women I'm sexist, if I draw "hot" men I'm gay,...

Yes there is, especially for no-talent writers on Tumblr, but you should be open to tasteful nudes. Write up a commission sheet that specifies your dos and donts, as well as prices, and shop it around.
>>
>>2297447
I think they'd be concerned that people would be jerking it even to "tasteful" nudes. I'm worried they'll think I'm a failure if I "resorted" to drawing teh secks.
