Over the last 2 or so months I've been making this comic. When I started this I had absolutely no direction and almost no experience with storyboarding; I just spewed some shit out in my sketchbook when I was feeling terrible. Ever since then I've occasionally been making some more strips and I feel like I've improved drastically and I'd like some feedback and to see some other people's work.
1/8, hopefully more to come
Haven't seen one of these in a while. Post the people that influence and inspire you the most! Following the rules in the picture is not necessary.
STOP TRYING TO TRICK ME INTO MAKING THIS TUMBLR COLLAGE SHIT WHEN I NEED TO BE DRAWING GAH THIS FUCKING WEBSITE

Just made one for the first time in my life. Already considering changing it though.
What does /ic/ think of him and why is he one of the most important artists of the 20th century?

I wanna commission an artist to draw up a bunch of headers for my stream page, in a cartoony style.
Something like pic related, maybe higher quality if possible? I would give $50 for it. Would I have takers?
There's no actual artists on this board anon. Don't bother. I've been trying to get hentai commishes here with no luck
>>2303399
I take commissions, and I'll tell you that reddit tumblr or pretty much anywhere else is a better place than here for commissions.
Also, $50 is only going to be enough for maybe 2.
maybe more if you higher a teenager or so.eone of equal skill to a teen

That's because you won't tell anyone what the fuck you want.
Dumping my works for critiques. DA doesnt help me and i made these in my phone. All of these are my works transitioning from just copying stuff to drawing from my imagination. (before, i cant draw if i dont have anything to copy from) thanks in advance!

>have friend that showed interest in drawing sine he saw me drawing a lot
>shows me his sketchbook
>its full of graffitti and nothing but graffiti
>he asks me what do I think
>I respond with "Anyone can draw words"
>he goes silent
>hasn't drawn since
I can't help but feel like im responsible for this
>anyone can draw words
I'm not fond of graffiti but this is still a retarded perspective. It's like looking at art and going "anyone can draw lines"
It's turning words into something visually appealing. Not everyone can draw good looking words. Graffiti / calligraphy has an element of design, regardless of whether that design is appealing to you.

Complete dick move on your part. But at the end of the day it is him who decided to quit.
Hey /ic/ please help me understand my client, pic related is the kind of work i'm doing for roughly 13 dollars.
he's been requesting changes since last week, but now he asked me to change the expression and the background of this piece, do i sound like a little bitch or is this really bullshit?
theres another 18 pieces to go.
Lol why are you painting over a photo? Don't accept work if you don't have the skill. You're a faggot.
>>2303193
because he is only willing to pay 13 dollars for a piece.
also ur mum
>>2303196
Why are you doing work for 13 dollars.
Post your art references here.
excuse the animu
Is this a good background, /ic/? I really want to know, because I don't think it's anything special if you look at the painting techniques and take away the bloom effects
It's a great background. The painting techniques are solid and the effects they used are well executed.
This is assuming it needed to be pumped out fairly quickly.
yes, it's good. you're paying too much attention to technique, which is sort of a rookie mistake tbqh. it's good because it's drawn well and composed well and has a consistent lighting and to some degree even tells a story. sure, it's deceptively simple and you could pick out any individual element and say "well I could do that," but it's the gestalt of it that makes it good.
it's ok.
i don't really like the edges

Haven't seen one of those threads in a while.
If you could go back in time and give your former self art related advice what would you tell him?
>Stop looking for shortcuts and 'smart' learning methods

Nothing, Im quite happy with my current progress and fear anything Id say might diminish it.
How do I git gud /ic/
By reading the sticky.
what does /ic/ think about graffiti?
It's the lowest form of art made by degenerates and children.
>>2301545
I contend that it is a high form of art, as it is true expression with the sole intent of "making a mark" and it receives no tangible accolades.
I agree that it is made by mostly degenerates and children though.
>>2301551
well graffiti is a post-modern art that deconstructs the concept of ownership. it's making the statement that ownership is so absurd all someone has to do is scribble their name on it, and that's all it takes to "own" it.
graffiti is prevalent in poor areas with a lot of crime, areas lower on the pyramid that see more of the dark side of wealth and ownership, so it's pretty easy to see why it's fallen into the wrong hands.
I know its a little offtopic but can we have this thread ? I want some recommending on good movies. Have a nice week /ic/ and good luck with your painting
