Create/find the most pretentious and shitty artwork you can. I want to see some garbage that probably would sell for millions in a modern art museum. Pretentious descriptions preferred

I'm trying to start doing commissions, but I have no idea where to start. I have no online presence and don't have any social media accounts, art-related or otherwise. Where do I go to start conning people into buying my shit? Where do YOU go?

If OP pic is your art, then you are way too much of a beginner to start thinking about things like this. Also this is an 18+ board
>>
>>2286316
Deviantart
Tumblr
HentaiFoundry
Furaffinity
Twitter
Picarto
Livestream
Twitch?
Patreon

you NEED at least one of more social media for it to be easier for people to reach you and for them to be able to see all your prices and when you stream art etc.

you can always make a non social media site but i'm afraid your success rate might be limited that way

Not sure if it's ops art but it's a joke obviously, it shows that commisioners or consumers in general usually have no standards and are willing to pay large sums for shit (sometimes literal)

you're right this is a 18+ board maybe when you are of age you can join like the rest

Well, I downloaded some Kim Jun Gi sketchbooks and I gotta say, what a hack. He can draw from life, but at this point...why bother? Might as well take a picture with any camera made in the past 20 years, it'll turn out better.

His "imaginary" stuff is just furry. No good designs. Thank god I didn't actually BUY any of his sketchbooks.

If you're gonna try to bait people at least make an effort to disguise it properly. This is probably the most heavyhanded bait I've seen this year.

I Need help you guys.

Well, Not me, but someone close to me, a good friend needs help, but I know she'll never ask for it. For a while now, she's ben making art, but she gets really depressed and such. she wants to make a career out of art, but lacks the confidence to actually do it. I've been trying to encourage her for months to no avail, but I thought she might take real artists more seriously that someone who doesn't draw. So what should I do? how can I help her? it really hurts to see her so torn about this.

pic related, it's an example of her art.

You and your friend have the resources to learn how to progress. Why don't you use them? How is this not obvious? Literally google search, check the sticky, YouTube.

You're probably bating with that image anyways. And if you don't have the confidence to share your own work online or figure this shit out on your own you're a fucking failure period.

Buddy, I keep telling her just that all the time, but she will not listen to me anymore. I keep telling her how successful she COULD Abe if she just puts herself out there! What can I do?

Some insights and reverse engineering on the value structures them chinese wizards do that I found on facebook.

TL;DR It's all about comparison of values and their relationship to each other, rather than absolute values.

-shadows are lifted (A LOT)
-clarity is put all the way down
-darkest midtones are darkened, lighter midtones are lightened up.
-the black areas are filled with tiny value shift and large scale hue gradients (lighten mode in PS)
-hair is made entirely of soft edges, skin/hair transition is very very soft,
-light-on-dark value...

The reality we observe and experience can be restored into shapes of the different mental intensities on the plane. This point can be used as the ultimate basis for judgment when the reproduction of shape on the plane is conducted. There are two key words here, namely, are shape and mental intensity.
1. Shape can be either deep blocks on the light background or light blocks on the dark backgrounds. No matter what does it look like, it can be taken as a shape as long as the shape can be detected from the backgrounds....

Now you can find that every area of the world is combined by neighboring or interlocked shapes. If you compare the intensity of them one by one in pairs, the overall reality will be presented. Can you understand what I mean? The comparison between the weak and strong is most valuable. The absolute value of the tone equally matters as any decrease or increase of it also affects the color gamut. The package will be crushed, but the relationship may remain. Thus, those who are good at adjusting half tint can draw a very flat but perfectly formed package in a very narrow area. This...

Here is something more about shape and mental intensity.
1.Shape is the projection of structure on the plane. Thus, if you want to change the shape, the change of the structure is a must. So, please be cautious. In addition, the edge of the shape may be either clear or blurry. You can’t say here there is no shape if the edge is blurry just like you cannot deny that clouds have shapes. The shape is infinite and it can fade into lines and points gradually until it is difficult to observe.
Mental intensity is also influenced by the way you observe. For instance, if you

Why do normal fags/none-artists hate loose art work/drawing styles so much? Like, the type of art that focuses on the big picture instead of small details. They'll often judge the skill of an artist based on the small meticulous details. Know what I mean?
28 replies and 2 images submitted. Click here to view.

>>2285835
Like stripping away an assload of detail for nice simplified planes and push color to absurdity to abuse contrast? Because anyone can create an orange circle, it's where that orange circle is placed that is a reflection of the artists skill. That's a ton harder to judge, instead of tiny brush strokes and delicious gradients along with apple-looking apples.

I'll take tasting an apple through a green over looking at a juicy real-apple over there.
>>
Because they have no concept of the history behind it. People hate modern art because they don't understand it. They don't understand what preceded the modern era and WHY artists abandoned traditional concepts of aesthetic to push the boundaries of art.

They're ignorant, basically. Not in the i-just-want-to-sling-insults way, but in the they-truly-have-no-knowledge way.

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make stylized work in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.

Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, have fun.

Hey /ic/, is it weird to not feel anything while looking at the porn you draw? Or is fapping to the stuff you draw considered incest-y?

Pic may or may not be related. Yeah I know it's shit but eh

I think it depends on the artist and what theyre drawing. I mean if your just drawing porn for the sake of porn and nothing else then i dont see why you would have to wank to it. But like if your drawing a fetish you like then i think its reasonable to pop a stiffy at least, unless of course your artist instinct is just too powerful to let you see anything past all your mistakes. I personally find myself jacking off with one hand and a pencil in the other hand to fix any mistakes i see. It just really depends on what kind of detachment you have with your own work i guess.
>>
>>2285532
Hmm, that's true.
Though jacking off while drawing is quite the multitask I've yet to experience, lol
>>
>>2285528

Usually you're looking at your porn with an artist eye. You can't get aroused because you see the faults and thought process behind the picture. If you wanna make your own porn for jerk-in try to look at your art objectively when your done. Turn your mind off a little bit and act like someone else created the picture.

photoshop is for editing photos.... thats like using flash to animate.

true, the tools are broad enough that you COULD do it, but there are better suited programs to say the least...

im of the opinion that you shouldnt use commercial software when quality fos alternatives exist... of which there are plenty when it comes to drawing software.

to name a few: "Krita", "MyPaint", "Paint.Net", "GIMP"
