help me /ic/ I don't know what to do to improve. its been a year since I've started drawing but it feels like i am progressing too slowly.

I know people online say draw from life, but am I really suppose to hangout in a subway like a bum doing drawings too mediocre to show to people passing by?

Right now the only practice i do on a consistent basis is the requests I get from a thread I have on /i/. I never went to school for art or taken an art class. Most of my knowledge comes from things i remember off the show art attack when i was a kid, and also google "how to draw X".

any and all tips appreciated. please don't tell me to read loomis, I downloaded the pdf and got 30 pages in and the only "new" thing I got from it was, and im paraphrasing, "art is hard, don't be discouraged, just keep drawing". Please don't recommend books that have more words than pictures, reading books is torture to me.

If possible, can you tell me some of your favourite drawing excercises to do? I have difficulty putting lines over construction lines without it looking "rigid".

Here is drawing done with construction lines http://orangecast.tumblr.com/image/146215872523

here is drawing done without construction lines and just drew it straight from the get go http://orangecast.tumblr.com/image/147004420573

both drawings I heavily abused ctrl+z to get the lines I wanted but the one where I didn't use construction lines looks a little smoother.

Thanks in advance, I feel like i'm stuck in a rut and the only exercise I know to do is "draw". I use paint tool SAI and a bamboo tablet.

Dude i've been drawing since I was 13 and I'm 25 now, and I'm still learning. Remember that. You never stop learning or improving.

Also, people say read loomis but mostly they mean "Do the exercises in Loomis." So start there, do all of the exercises.

Also don't draw without construction lines. Get off digital drawing and use paper and pencil. Draw loosely, use your whole arm or at least the elbow to draw and not your wrist, you'll get better looser lines that way. Don't worry about doing lineart like shit yet you're nowhere near needing to finish works like this.

Furthermore, stop drawing stylized. Draw from life and try to draw what you see, not what you think you see. Draw a still life and make it look as close to that object as possible, draw people and draw them how they actually look, don't stylize them. You have to learn what things actually look like before you stylize or it's going to look, well, like shit.

Good luck bro

You can do anything you want and desire.
You dont have to believe in yourself, believe in the man who believed in you when nobody else did!

In about a few months I will be an intern in a social enterprise that’s located in a non-western country. The company crafts bikes that are made from bamboo, which they cultivate and harvest themselves. As an extra, I want to make a small documentary about this, the goal is to make it useful for the company’s marketing. Unfortunately, I’ve got no experience at all and a shitty 8 year old toshiba filmcamera.
Where should I look if I want to connect to film-making enthusiasts, who might even be open to help me with editing?
I still have questions like: What editing program should I use? What elements should I avoid when making an informative product-documentary? What is the best way to write a script? Any more advice?

Hey /co/ I'm thinking of making a comic based off of /fit/'s culture. The main character is a dyel who wanders from gym to gym aimlessly (giving me a chance to make fun of planet fitness and cross fit gyms) until he meets Louie, who seems to be hardened and the biggest guy in the gym only for it to turn out that he's just a scary looking but very awkward yet mildly arrogant sperg. It starts simply at first with Louie looking to becoming the strongest power lifter in the world (already being able to squat 400 pounds at 17) and Danny being dragged into adventures such as Louie trying to get a thick gf or the gym beingattacked by gains goblins or accidentally drinking creating and almost destroying a whole city or not wanting to get a job for the sake of the NEET lifestyle. Louie's weapon is a barbell that he throws around with a few weights almost with complete ease that he uses to attack roided enemies like scooby and rich pannini. Towards the end of the series They begin getting attacked by interplanetary enemies only to find out they've been attempting to kill Louie because he's been expending and using up so much energy that it's actually speeding up the end of the universe by 100% due to entropy. Louie begins to put on his angry face after being caught in space jail and is resolved to lift away the rest of the universe by himself. Danny is unsure whether to interfere or not but later on Louie actually does not lift the universe but he's lifting the burden of everyone's lives and as the dark circle encloses around him he finds himself in a complete blank room squating a theoretical barbel with millions of human fears, hate, sadness, despair, as everyone begins to finally ascend via neon genesis evangelism. However Danny does his best to come back to Louie and snap him out of it. Louie is appalled that although he is lifting everyone's feels.

Thoughts? I'm still trying to come up with a solid ending

Have a schedule and stick to it.
Alternatively, read something about art, but really I think it's important to stick to it if you can.

Would you say to a client that you don't feel the spark today?

I need somebody to make some covers for my new album. It should be have somewhat of an Autechre touch or totally it's own. I dunno. Does anybody fancy helping me out?

What's the value of Dynamic Sketching if you can pay for it? What about CGMA as a whole the other workshops/classes out there? I'm a beginner who's looking for a structured course for learning the most about the basics of drawing in the shortest amount of time. My plans to study in study in LA didn't work out due to issues with travel and living expenses, so I need online alternatives. I have around $3000 in savings I'm willing to spend on art education.

look into the foundation patreon, it's a few concept art guys who were taught at art center and I think some taught there, the teach these sort of sketching techniques along with design, rendering and some other stuff, I'ts much more affordable than cgma and you can get feedback.
>>
check out some john park gumroads. i'm not sure if he added sketches yet but he taught me to do basically what you posted.
