The nub on my Huion tablet just off and disappeared. I dumped the contents of my bag and it's nowhere to be found. With the fucking 8 dollar shipping, a new set comes out to 16 bucks.Yeah, I'm a poor bitch, I don't have the money. You guys have any acceptable ideas on a cheaper alternative to jam up in there that may work?

Pic related, that's the tablet.

Does your huion have any removable parts, like for the wireless kits and other stuff? the bastards were well hidden there in my Intuos, not under whatever the piece was covering but on the actual piece itself. Try looking there.

Do any of you all have vitamin D deficiencies from not doing art outside? Apparently being an artist is a risk factor for having severe vitamin D deficiency my bud in Medical school told me.

I was suffering from depersonalization, having this horrible feeling like this life and world weren't real and just having a really negative outlook on my own life that would come or go for a year or so. Nothing was really wrong in my life, it was just a feeling, like how sometimes you might be happy for no reason.

I randomly had a physical and it turned out I had extremely...

I had a vitamin D deficiency from being a basement dweller. The witch doctor put me on an ultra high dose for a week and left me on 1000 IUs of D3 once a day. No changes in mood
>>
>>2597119

Can confirm. I have clinical deppression, which has gone better after getting vitamin pills.

They said those who spend more time on the sunlight are happier. Talking about this and the general mood of sunlight i guess.

I still feel unhappy as fuck, but no longer gloomy or sad.

So, the key for a happy artist is: Take vitamins and leave your mom's basement.

Does anyone here had to force themselves to learn how to draw humans (or whatever you wanted to draw)? I'm more or less OK with non-live stuff (pic related), or at least I try to learn and improve the parts that I suck at. I've been doodling mechanical stuff/landscapes since I was a kid. But I can't bring myself to seriously learn anatomy to save my life. I started so many times and never went past basic skeleton anatomy, proportions and basic portraits. live stuff is so flexible and shape-shifting that it gets me all confused and nervous, so I go back to drawing...

Huh, I don't get it anon. You can't draw humans? But you can draw architectural stuff? So you can draw forms, just use that. It really shouldn't be too hard if that is your actual level skill in the pic. Just use that knowledge to abstract the human figure into simpler shapes. Start with that and as you get comfortable start adding more details etc. There are a huge number of books that explain this process. Studying anatomy so you actually understand what you are seeing will fix a lot of that as well. You will understand all that "flexible shape shifting" stuff because you'll know the muscles and bones that are creating those shifts.

That's what I'm doing at the moment. The problem is that I hate learning how to draw anatomy, but I want to draw anatomy. I had no such problem with architecture/landscape/mechanical.

Since I asked people to share their struggle stories, I guess this thread is motivational in a way, shit. Don't like being in this whiny mood, I should just suck it up and draw.
>>
>>2596193
Hah, you're the total opposite of me.

I feel like I have an okay grasp on humans, but architecture/landscapes are beyond me.

Shut the fuck up and get yourself a tablet.

If you don't or can't afford a tablet, then draw on paper and scan that.

If you don't or can't afford a scanner, then take picture of your paper with your phone or something.

Get lost, mousebreather.

Why you hef to be mad is only mouse
>>
You made your own thread, so you fucked up.

Also, why waste your time drawing with a mouse? Seriously what's the point? It's just generally a shitty medium for art and lacks any sort of precision or flexibility, and you don't really gain any useful transferable muscle memory in the way you do going from pencil to tablet.

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.

Model Head.jpg
53 KB,
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any good physical models for drawing? Particularly a model head and even more particularly I'm looking for one that shows the angles of the head kindof like a polygonal model that's a good size to hold in your hand and use as a reference. I've been searching on ebay and google but pick related is the best I can come up with and it's a bit expensive and not exactly what I'm looking for.

Help!

Is there a easy/good way go make leads smooth into ink or should i go digital?
4 replies and 1 images submitted. Click here to view.

If your skills were better the ink and pencil would look a lot better. There's no way to make the eye you drew look smooth or correct.
>>
There are specialised pencils which produce blacks almost as strong as ink, but generally speaking ordinary graphite will always look light and shiny compared to ink.

I'd recommend moving to paint if you want to go beyond pencil without going digital. Modern paint is convenient enough that everything else is basically just too much trouble.

Contrary to what most people on here are likely to say, I'd also say going digital is a perfectly valid next step. Digital painting offers some opportunities to develop your skills that traditional work doesn't...

65 KB,
Anyone ever try these? Apparantly they're alcohol based markers that blend and all that but this 36 pack was like 12 dollars at Wal-Mart. Do they compare to copics (I know they don't but would they be decent for practicing before going in for the kill with copics)?

>>2597135

Oh and it had a lot of colors like skin tones and greys I wouldn't have expected.
>>
They're kinda like Sharpies. I wouldn't say they blend much, not that I've tried very hard.
>>
the mark-its were my go-to markers when i was budgeting years ago. imo they're slightly better than sharpies, but some of the colours appear much more dark than the cap suggests. a small handful of markers did dry out a lot faster than others in the same pack, so i guess watch for that.

for what it is & the price/amount, they're not really that bad if its the only thing you have on hand

There is Premier and Buisness.

Business Account

I use a business account. Suits just fine for commission needs. You don't need a company for it.
