I am a gaming artist. I have tried to make art both at work and at home while high or drunk. It might improve creativity a bit but it lowers skill by A LOT. Only thing that sems to improve my art is ONE beer because it helps me drown out the office noise and focus better.

The watermark on the image tells you where to go. His gallery is sorted and has those tutorials in one group. I went there just now to find out if it was that easy.
What's the easiest way to see through a form?
I always imagine what I'm looking at cut in half.
I do the same thing whether I'm looking at a reference or when I'm drawing from imagination. I always pretend some one ran an imaginary knife through whatever I'm drawing.
Does anybody have an easier method than that?
Once you master drawing simple shapes in 3d objects (in any perspective), seeing through forms is second nature.

I don't draw a lot of fight scenes, but it has happened on a few occasions, it's pretty fun and challenging. I collect refs pics when they pop up and martial arts films are pretty good for them too. Also, some mango-artists are a good inspiration.

I used to work at an antique furniture shop and my favorite part of the process was staining. I considered it an art. Getting fresh untouched furniture and putting a whole new coat was the best. But what is your favorite type of stain?

I like pickled oak, natural, and ebony, depending on the colors going with it. Idk if that helped or not..
Does the pickled oak stain lighten the wood? If so I shoulda used that shit. I built a music instrument out of spalted beech and it was super sexy and white but the linseed oil I finished it with darkened and yellowed it a bit.
