How can I improve this painting and my painting skills? (ignoring its unfinished state)

Can you see what I need to improve on personally?

I think it's basically good enough that /ic/ isn't going to give you much useful advice. I can't really see any flaws at this stage except maybe the focus of the image isn't clear enough and it's a fairly dull concept overall.

I'd recommend pushing it to the next stage, filling in the detail. If you can keep the standard that you have put into the rough going all the way to the end, this should be a professional level piece.

Hi! I've wanted to do this for a long long time, so here it is, I guess! I'm gonna start a skype group for people from /ic/ looking for new friends to either help with critiques, or even study buddies. The only thing I ask though, is that you're remotely interested in art and improving your skill. The last thing I want is a circle-jerk of people who wish they could draw and do nothing about it. I'm willing to host some video calls if anyone would like, too, as i draw better while I'm talking to someone.

As a young man with not much money lining his pockets, i look for good ways to avoid forking out currency for things that can be found for free. As such, for my Note 5, i need a new app for drawing. I currently use ArtFlow and have tried MediBang Paint. I enjoy ArtFlow, but it restricts making more than 2 layers, 90% of brushes, and the amount of undos. The layers part really grinds my gears. Could i get any help here? I have enjoyed this art board very much, and look forward to further interaction with you guys.

If i might add, my friend has access to a full version of an app called something along the lines of Clover Paint, which requires money for that but he's said that he got it for free. He's kind of a dick about helping me out, so if anyone has insight on that, it would be very much appreciated.

I'm actualy ok with these modern art hipsters calling actual artists that try to improve their skill 'ilustraturs' instead of 'artists' to seperate themsellves from people with skill.
and there is always something to laugh at aslong as these snowflakes are around.

I don't like how the term "artist" is used these days. More than anything it's used for musicians I think which doesn't sit right with me

I've an art problem

I can't make money from my art which I can cope with. I have met somebody that tried to help me, and they did, but there's an embargo on my head. This person still wants my art, which is great, it has never been appreciated before (well, when it was it always turned out a poor show).

They do not have a great deal of money so I'm happy to let them own my art for free, I re-touch old works so they are fitting for their new owner, the slightest changes.

They do want to pay me for my work, and this is where it goes queer.

Been browsing every pages and couldn't find something quite related to what I'm looking for, so here goes:

I used to go on dA as a teenager and moved on to Tumblr and Instagram as I grew tired of the whole circlejerking tendency of dA.

I've gotten many followers and whatnot, but nobody talks to me, or critiques my work. I want interaction with people and a sense of community, as just posting art to get as many reblogs gets incredibly boring and unstimulating.

Where should I go to have actual interaction with people without having to constantly draw fan art/whore my everyday life and post selfies throughout my blog to make myself more relatable?

You could join a Skype group, if you're looking for more interaction

I happen to mod one. We have a weekly drawing theme, so you'll actually have to draw to stay in, which prevents lurks.
Post your skype ID if interested.
>>
>>2593418

I never heard of that before, is there something to do with video/audio?

Definitely interested though, the pressure to draw would be a great incentive.

You don't even need a lawyer if it's just some kid. Find a fancy C&D template online with scary walls of text and send it to them. They'll freak.

Cringe thread.

>TL;DR This thread is basically giving the idea of creating field journals of fantasy creatures and also asking where I could find some.

I've recently found that I have a bit of an obsession with giants, humanoids to be more specific. There's just something about the wild but gentle protectors of the wood that always fascinated me. I also love the idea of finding an old journal in a forest filled with anatomical sketches of beasts and descriptions of their behavior (I can't remember where I got this idea from and I would very...

I had a similar idea of wanting to make my own illuminated bestiary from scratch some day, binding and all.
>>
>>2589837
That sounds pretty cool actually. I kinda want to make one that's like a world war journal filled with charcoal sketches of guns and tanks etc. Any idea where you can buy an old timey journal thing?
>>
>>2589906
Honestly the best option would be to make your own. But if you're lazy or feel you want a stylized one, just Google "old leather journals". That's how I got the OP picture.

I plan on one day showing it to my children, I would have loved that myself. Just imagine clippings of exotic fur, drawings of massive birds and stories of adventures. This could be my life obsession, aside zoology.

Tantalizing paws upon her finessed bust
Potent mindful deception over her anatomy
Forced wrench of her vibrant razzmatazz cowlick
A metamorphic transformation within
Dissonant mar amongst her collar
Whomping breeze out of her bronchi
Writhing towards that holy grail
Orgasmic passion trickles down her spine
Contortionist psyche without a footprint of regret
A Woman brimming with a phobia of reality
Demands to be exposed to her rightful residence
In this hideous terrene around her

2 MB,
I've been practicing thinking in 3D on paper, but I keep forgetting how to think in 3D after I switch to drawing anatomy, etc.

How do I strike a steady balance between 3D studies, and anatomy studies? I only draw for one hour a day, but shouldn't that be enough?

Should I amp it up to 1 hour of 3D studies, and 1 hour of anatomical studies?

There's a big issue with me doing this though. By the time I'm done with 3D studies, I'm mentally burnt out. I don't see the point in studying anatomy if I don't put it into a good 3D...

answer to all drawing questions is draw more. There's no secret formula senpai.
>>
>>2598655
I think I'll just draw more 3D forms, and do them until I have them completely down, and then I'll split that between anatomy until I can fully transition into anatomy.

This might take a year even with 2 hours a day though.
