hi /ic.

i´m sure some of you know what is shown in the picture. does anybody know which artist actually painted this piece of blotter art? and when has it been on the streets for the first time.

Respost of the last pic, since it was the last one in the thread and I'd still like some feedback if possible.

The view on the screen is the one on the phone, so yeah, the one she sees is the exact same pic we see. I hope you are trolling, cause if you are not then I'm very stupid and I don't even realize it.

You say she's on the floor, but her pose suggests she's standing and leaning on the wall.

Apple product. Painting on glass.

I tried one briefly the other day in the apple store. It's quite nice and if I already owned an iPad pro I'd get it in a heartbeat, but getting the iPad and the pen doesn't feel worth it.
I didn't like the feel of the screen (as the other anon said - painting on glass). I dunno if there's any textured screen protectors around which might help.
The software also seems limited, particularly not having an easy way to use shortcuts and stuff.

If I got one, it'd basically become a glorified sketchbook, I don't think it'd be any...

Pretty simple thread, i would just like to know your opinion on art schools. In the future i would like to be an artist and i've heard some popular artists say that they just wasted their time in art college (I'm talking about drawing and painting). The thing is i feel like a shit, because everyone else plans to go to college(I'm at final year of high school now). I had a vision that i would work in some electro shop or helpdesk or something with computers that doesn't include programming or networking after high school and i would still focus on my art,...

If there is one name that deserves to be remembered from the XX century painters is his name.

He will be one of the names in history.

When you have absolute confidence in your ability to correctly copy proportion and value* for any number of lighting setups using the comparative measurement method.

To be frank, I think it's a good idea to fuck around with it in traditional media a little all along the way, just for familiarity's sake. However, this should all be kept separate from your real study/practice, just more for 'fun'.
>>
Whenever you're happy with your forms and values. There isn't a defined spot.
Color is tricky but once you've got a good idea of value it's a lot more intuitive. Do some studies of stuff with good colors to improve your eye for color (namely: recognizing when something you assume is red is actually brown, purple, etc but just looks red in context).
>>
>>2356824
oh and on value, value is a little tricky, as there really isn't any media, other than maaaybe digital on an amoled screen, that can truly replicate the full range of value you can see. So you kinda have to make decisions on what range of value you're going to choose to represent accurately. You'll have to sacrifice either the upper end or lower end usually.

Life's not a video game, it's not only about studying. Some nuances take more than a year to grasp, and some elements like creativity you might never get.
>>
>>2356815
This, basically.

Though strong draughtsmanship and the ability to draw from life are important, CalArts seems to be more interested in your potential as an artist. From what I've seen, they're looking to see how you are as a storyteller and an illustrator, and how open you are to experimenting. If you're looking for an animation school that you can easily grind your way into, check out Sheridan.

I don't have any money nor much spare time or skill, but I designed several characters in anime style and also drafted up a story. Like I said I just can't really work on it right now, but I'll be posting some of this stuff if anyone's interested in taking ownership of it. Its not licensed or anything so if you like anything you see its yours to use. If not I'll just leave the thread alone

The drawings and characters were designed by myself probably at least 10 years ago. Recently I got into One Punch Man and I was sort of inspired...
