Hey guys I was wondering if I could start a daily/weekly thread which focuses on learning form and developing form.

After being here for years lurking and posting anonymously, I've found that a lot of beginners have major problems in developing/seeing form, I've noticed many other artists that are highly skilled in certain areas also lacking in this area.

So I thought, lets make a daily/weekly thread that focuses on simplifying and teaching the topic of form, this thread can be contributed to by the intermediate level anons in the board.

Its ultimately to help people learn what form is, how it works, how it affects painting and every other question related to it.

I'm thinking of making general tasks and guidelines. The goal is for beginners and intermediates alike to work together to complete said task and learn from one another.

For example, an intermediate level artist will complete the task to a good standard, then a beginner might look at the study and then reply to it asking how he/she did the study or certain elements relating to it.

Ideally, intermediate artists should also try to make a process, using gyazo or something to take screenshots throughout doing the task.

Pic related, I did a plate study from a reference provided in an old draw thread and found that it was very useful way of rendering out a solid image. The thread can also be contributed to by posting relevant reference material.

I'm only really going to put effort into the thread if anons would like to have something like this.

So who's up for it, would like to hear your comments?

Beginner here, slowly working with line and feel like getting less shit (well, by beginner standards anyway). Terrified as fuck of form through value.
As such, incredibly interested in what happens with this thread.

Selling shit you made and/or own is not wrong, but depending on the country you live in it might be illegal.

Just came across this and since I know most of you are lazy unmotivated fucks who need discipline, I though it would be perfect for a study thread. So:

Hey /ic/,

Fine arts painting major (I love it to death) going out into the real world in May. As obvious as it sounds, it is frightening to know there isn't a 'job' for fine arts majors. A toooon of "experienced graphic designers with 3-5 years of experience."

I am interested in design. I know /basic/ photoshop and illustrator and a little bit of after effects. I /can/ draw digitally but it just isn't as natural to me as using a brush. I don't want to get another degree, but I am interested in taking more classes or something towards the digital world ($$$).

I dunno. Anyone else graduating soon? Any professionals with advice? anyone? : (

pic is a mastercopy I did this semester

that painting. kid, youre fucked.
>>
Your degree should open doors for you as far as like, graphic design and so on goes; you'll just have to make a portfolio of some sort. As critical as I am as far as degrees use when pursuing actual art jobs, a fine arts degree sounds great for a normie job like that you can do while daydreaming about the painting you're going to do when you get home.
>>
>>2350051
explain?

>>2350052
all the normie jobs want experience too. I know this sounds stupid but how do I prove that I can use Microsoft Office Suite?

how likely am I to become a tattoo artist if I'm 22 years old and I've never tried drawing before?

I mean, not creative drawing, I've tried replicating existing images in the past, the results were satisfying but I've never drawn anything original myself

why is it that faggots always look for validation from others instead of sitting down and putting in the work ?

Idiot, if you want to do it then just do it. Do you really need fucking statistics and be like "Oh well if it's gonna be hard im just gonna go sell burgers at McDonalds". Fucking grow a pair and stop bothering people with your insecure bullshit., or just fuck off to your mother's basement and let her find you a job at her firm for you stacking paper.

I've recently been offered a chance to join an art school for the rest of my high school life.
The thing is that I have to submit 10 drawings, 6 still life drawings/sketches and 4 other drawings showing my art style and such.
I can get through the 4 drawings just fine, heck id say i'm done with them, but with the other 6 i'm having a block of no inspiration.
If I could ask that you could give me some pictures, be it panoramas of landscapes or people, It would be great!

Rules are:
>no drawings
>no sketches
>no videos
>no paintings

I am reading book 'Vanishing point' and encountered a certain problem.

Author wants me to do 'tiles' excersize. Using diagonal vanishing point we build a floor in numbers of pefect squares.

I understand the mechanic and I successfully managed this excersize.

However, in the next chapter Author explains about 2 point perspective and give another excersize, which i understand up to the part where author wants us to utilize DVP in the same manner we did in our 'tiles' excersize.
