In this picture, CMYK is shown to be subtractive while RGB is shown to be additive, simply because their colors are reversed from one another. Is there potentially any additive equivalent to RYB like RGB is to CMYK? Some sort of, mythical GPO or something that creates white when it's colors are combined?
Are you fucking retarded? The primaries are arbitrary. The reason RGB is white is because you're mixing light an additive process. RGB pqaints would still mix to black/mud just bwith a bit wonky of a gamut. I mean the Munsell model has 5 for that reason. No need sacrificing your gamut size.

Does being emotionally invested in art makes it better?
Whenever I draw things that I'm not emotionally invested in they come out looking much better than those which I do.
I believe that this is because I can just cut and delete and edit without caring too much about the subject. I can see it more objectively. I believe that this is why doctors are discouraged to treat family members.

Having personal or emotional investment is what drives me forward in my art.
When I make something personal, the stakes are higher. The piece or subject now has meaning that I connect to directly. And when the stakes are higher, I tend to put more effort into it. My person is in that art. Failure will hurt much more, as the art now has a part of me in it. Success will feel even sweeter though, as the accomplishment and victory is both an artistic one as well as one of personal growth.
That is just me though.
Lately I've been thinking, "I am who I surround myself by." I'm tired of posting on mainstream art gallery sites because what I want to create isn't getting me enough attention or critique to improve my art. I'm not super special or anything, but I feel I must try and move someplace else focused on art.
My question is, is /ic/ really a good place to move to? Are there any long term artists here that felt like this is a good learning environment? Are there enough access to resources, guides, and honest critique that you feel were changed by...

the composition is off, too central. there are too many colors for such fragmented planes or at least it feels that way since their contrast is not pleasing try to define a set of colors that are nice to look at maybe use the color you had on the backgroung for those apples
