I've been painting designs on wooden boxes with oil paint and I've been trying to figure out the best way and type of varnish to put on them. I tried google but didn't really find an answer.

What kind of varnish should I use? I want to give it a glossy look like the wooden magnets in pic related

Anyone interested in a daily drawing challenge? Last artist standing, no end date. Requires daily blog updates.

Grand Prize
>You drew everyday for a long time, longer than anyone else. Congratulations. You are the best.

Rules
>Update every day
>Miss an update and you're out

Shitty Internet Token
>Everyone starts with a shitty internet token.
>If for some reason you are unable to post you are required to double post the next day at the expense of your token.
>After one month of no missed posts you get a new token.
>You cannot have more than one token.

I can make a quick bootstrap site to keep track of it. No login or anything, just a custom url that you'd have to save and too bad if you lose it.

Any interest?

I would also be interested. Whats the minimum amount of time per drawing
>>
>>2338248
maybe no minimum. how long do you think someone would fake it with shitty 30 second posts before they lost interest. i guess a minimum wouldnt be a bad idea to be able to DQ the most determined shitposters

i'm really sorry in advance if this isn't the right board to post this but, im not really sure where else to put it
I got adobe after effects the other day and I started adding some sfx to an illustration to make it a bit more "alive"
I have no previous experience with this kinda stuff at all, so my first project looks kinda shitty, and I rendered it kinda badly as well, but I want to improve, so I started with another image;
heres the WIP so far: https://my.mixtape.moe/hnohjm.mp4
im not sure what to add next however
also im not good at drawing/animating AT ALL, are those things needed to "get good" at video effects?

Seriously, i mean the first is okish.

But why did you turn smoke into bubbles? Also it looks a bit wrong because the different ammounts and the way bubbles go up from the orb dont really reflect on the lighting on the plague doctor.

How did you get into woodwork? What experience with drawing (or sculpting) you had before you worked your first project?
>>
I like it, do you ever do any printmaking?
>>
I had a lot of experience drawing, and minimal sculpting practice. I have done lots of screen printing, but want to get into doing wood block!

>>

You traced a hand and had the revolutionary idea of putting a flower on it. To make it 'look meaningful'. And you post it here in 2 threads, asking for critique.
Oh man.

What do you want to hear, exactly?
Comments on how the hand looks? On the design of the flower? On the colouring? On the idea?
Because there's not much to be said on what you've done. It's hard to care about something that was done in 2-3 minutes for an English project, the anatomy was traced, so it's slightly off in places, the idea isn't particularly interesting or new, and the choice of colours isn't particularly pretty.

Sorry if you were expecting a pat on a shoulder or a "you sure did a good job on that project there, anon!".
Move on with your life from this goddamn English project. Make something actually cool and worth showing. Nobody's saying you can't.
