Very oldfag here. Back in my teens I thought I was going to be some kind of comic book artist or some shit. Unfortunately for me and probably fortunately for you I had to face up to the fact that I just wasn't very good. I would have had to invest a lot more time into it and I got forced into a work situation so never really picked it up again. However I hung onto some of the stuff I created. Krita is an awesome piece of software and I think a couple contributions could show that we appreciate them. Even if you don't use Krita, having open source competition makes the devs of paid software work harder and provide more tools to justify the costs.
Has anyone tried out Watts' online school? I'm a beginner and was wondering if the drawing classes help. He claims Loomis and other things will be incorporated into the lessons so you only have to do bare minimal reading.

Although, I would still give books like the Loomis ones a read though regardless. There's no need to be exclusive about it, and doing one thing simply to avoid having to do the work of taking time to read a book is probably not the best mindset going in.

Anyway, I haven't taken a thorough look myself at the Watts online, but I do know that they have lessons for those starting from the very basics (like rendering basic shapes).
You could also just shoot an e-mail with your questions to the atelier itself, I would guess.
