Try searching, seriously, artists do a great deal of things besides making art and most of it consist of finding people that can give you a job.
Also try Upwork, I saw some fat fuck with red beard called David North there charging $22/h for his illustrations and I'm suspicious he is also owner of this site and portfolio:

What is the best portable, compact and with replaceable ink type of drawing utensil that does the same job as either a fine-tip brush or a pen-and-ink type pen? If I'm being unclear please say so
judging by his thumbnails, the anatomy in his older stuff seems off and the quality seems variable but his newer stuff seems alright. stuff that he posted within the past 2 years seems decent
should I make a tumblr and post studies daily and the original piece once a month? I'm by not means good or anything, but I'm starting to grasp the fundamentals Permanoobs is a shit SHIT place to upload because it takes AGES to upload a single image, tumblr is much more fast?
does anybody does this? or is it better to just not tell anyone about it until I am decent enough to showcase online. I mean, I don't want to lose my progress and all that

His women are starting to looknice but he can't do backgrounds to save his life. I do have to give him credit for pumping out new content every couple days. That's impressive.
Anyone want to try to start a virtual community of artists? Its way easier to meet people and discuss in a virtual 3d environment like that and you can upload your work and get feedback etc.
If your interested get a SL account and go to a place called "MAGE Sandbox".
It's not about second life it's about a 3D place where you can talk about shit. The environment is more conducive to discussion and meeting people than image boards
I think this thread is an appropiate place to ask, is Matte Painting very hard compared to regular painting? I have a job interview tomorrow to do matte painting for a TV ad, but I don't know if it will be too hard for me, I can paint properly, usually get praised a lot in draw threads, any advice?

Quality matters, but you can draw with anything and you shouldn't be blowing lots of cash if you're just practicing.

I was mostly thinking about graphite; because to me it really seems like the small differences in shades, especially the ones with more lead, are irrelevant to anyone that's not an architect.
I mostly use it for sketching and practice but I was curious if general quality has some bigger significance I might be missing.
