Could anyone give any criticism or any ways that I could improve on this concept

PSA: Don't forget to stretch after every hour of work.

Thanks for this. I literally just discovered I've developed carpal tunnel three days ago. I've been working for over a decade and never imagined it would happen to me. So I knew nothing about it really, including the most ideal hand stretches. I will try to do these often. Thanks again.
Everyone should get themselves a wrist brace to wear while you're asleep, so you could recover better. This shit helps greatly, as well as taking frequent breaks and doing stretches.

Use Krita if you want free software
Buy SAI if you want to use it. It's an affordable software, and other softwares should follow it's examples.
Clip Studio Paint is pretty good, and has been at discounts rather often. Keep an eye out.
Animation Software:
Krita is free, and has an animation plugin.
EasyToon is free, but it's almost like the MS Paint of animation. Good for fucking around as a beginner.
TVP is expensive as fuck. No torrent for 11 afaik. It's the objectively best...

>Lastly: Fuck photoshop. Use a software made for drawing.
I don't think photoshop deserves the hype of being "the only worthwhile program" that some retards give it because it's industry standard, but it is industry standard.
Many very good artists who produce very good art use photoshop. It's completely functional and has a lot of useful tools. It certainly has some flaws that other programs address, but other programs also have flaws / missing features...

Her advice on art school. To be fair, she was already immensely talented during high school. She didn't even really need college.
You're not going to learn much unless you tackle some really good personal studies. In the end, it all comes from you and what you can do. Sure, SVA may pave a pathway for you to tackle, but it isn't going to make it any easier. What's worse is, when you find out you've already been taking the path they are teaching.
Ok, so I'm an aspiring game artist, and I need an opinion on my art. As of now, you guys are my only known resource.
I need to know a way to create a chain along the dotted line quickly. I can't think of a way to do it as of now that won't take at least an hour.
Also, if you see anything else you think might need changing, please let me know. This is my first time posting here, as /b/ would never give me a straight answer.
Is this a joke?

Why the fuck is she naked? How the FUCK is a naked chick going to be a valuable asset to someones video game? Where the FUCK is the design?
I want you to rip that paper up and go to the beginner thread.

no, it makes your art look better and the process faster and more pleasant
Dear art guys, I've recentely started studying urban spaces and mobility, and would like dearly to sketch them, crudely, for further reference for my studies. I wanted to do really simple stuff, with just a pencil and paper, really.
Is there any beginner's tip, or do I just try to do it until I get good? Also, any tips for general improvement or whatnot are mostly welcome.
Thanks a lot.
ps: pic unrelated.
Study perspective and how basic shapes work with perspective and that will get you 80% of the way there.
Check out Perspective Made Easy for a good intro to it. I don't know about books more specifically tailored to your goals but I'm sure they exist.
Like >>2429939 said, Perspective made easy is very good, important to learn especially for drawing buildings n shit and easy to digest.
But here are 2 good books on top of that 4 u my nigger. The first one is an introduction to drawing with the urban sketching as the main subject. The second one is more of a collection of urban sketches from a bunch of different artists. It's good to learn from the pieces of other artists.

>The Art of Urban Sketching
This is my favorite art book.
It's pretty useless for a beginner to learn how to draw, but it has great tips on how to draw urban spaces.
Great information on materials, which can be very useful to beginner urban sketchers.
Anyone saved that leyendecker pic of a guys face where was smiling/grinning in a slightly goofy manner?
It was an attractive blonde guy. I thought I had saved it bc it looks 100% like a buddy of mine (who grins in the exact same way) but now I can't find it anywhere on my pc.
halp??? it was posted on here a week or so ago.
bump??
This? Literally on the first page of a google search for 'leyendecker portrait' Did this really need its own thread?

yes! GOD thanks man!!!
>sparkfags will never know the pain of not being able to get a line in the right place
>sparkless fags will never know the joy of being able to place perfect lines every time
You've mistaken something anon.
The "spark" isn't some metaphor for creativity or passion.
The "spark" is your ability to keep on going despite the challenges or despair. The "spark" is what keeps you drawing when everything turns out as shit. The "spark" is what keeps you going, through thick and thin, in sickness and in health.
You don't make it without the "spark", however, there are some who go their entire life without realizing they have the "spark". The "spark" does not care...

Is there a light source we're supposed to be working with?
Never seen this thread before might be interesting.
So, what makes your art different anons?
Alright I'm gonna get all touchy feely on you nosefriend.
Commercially, as a beginner, probably nothing sets me apart, nothing stylistic or technical. I'm just chugging along with basic exercises and occasional little goof offs where I try to apply what I've learned. I hope that in the way I'll find my own language, but for now, it's not anything original at best, or not anything decent at worst.
But for me, it's just mine and I own it. So it'll always be different in my eyes simply because it came for me. Just like baby garbles...

Not intended to be funny. I'm convinced that other "abstract" forms only exist as other artist's excuse to compensate for their lack of abilities to draw realistically. Most "abstract" art like pic related has no meaning. It takes no effort at all really and is only known because the composer was an aristocrat and generally gained credibility by his nobility, not for any sort of talent. That's how it has really always worked in the art field.

Do you think it's right for me?
I appreciate how good looking a piece of art can be. I appreciate all the different textures, shading techniques, and line art etc. I find the improvement process interesting.
Sometimes when I look at certain pieces I just get really excited, especially fantasy or fantastical art that has breathtaking landscapes or worlds you are viewing. Art can really serve as a great reality escape for me. I can just suck myself into the worlds I viewing.
I'm nervous about the networking and self promotion involved to be successful...

Why?

Well, you still can make a living without being a marketing whore. You just have to be good enough so people actually cared about your stuff, and not your persona. Sure, you can get yourself to a better jobs with a shittier skill level, if you know the right people and don't feel any shame in self promotion. This doesn't mean that it's impossible to get those jobs by being good. It is slower though. You will build up a network of clients naturally over time, just by being an okay person and having good work ethics.
