What is this drawn with?
Why is it so brown?

Sanguine pastel?
Just a guess based on my own experience with the medium
terracotta pencil
conte crayon. you can get em in stick of pencil form.
How do I git gud at drawing a pose? should I just practice those 1-2 minutes gesture/ pose drawing everyday?
>>2466404
Just draw a lot of poses. Try not to imagine poses just use some kind of reference because imagination poses tend to be shit and uninteresting and have no gesture in them. U can try imagination after u become somewhat okay with working from reference.
gestures motherfucker
>>2466406
>use refs cause imagination sucks
You literally just described every single skill you learn in art.
Why do so many amateur artists have explosive amounts of followers? I know it's the fanart, but I've seen good fanart not get the same amount of attention as the worse stuff, and I don't know why.
They know how to market themselves. Doesn't matter how good your art is if you don't know how to sell yourself.

This pic is not amateur, 99% of /ic/ no cann´t draw something like this
>>2465909
>no cann´t draw
Imma try this again. Picked this painting up the other day and it's signed "Kent." Is it worth getting it cleaned and fixed for value sake? I bought the painting because i like it, but if theres money there I'd like to get it out of it.
what kind of stupid fuck are you, the only valuable art is modern art.
Go on with the meta, if your not buying trash and loundering money with it, its not art.

Manben is a documentary series that is currently in its second season in Japan. Japanese comic book artists are filmed up close while working for a few days and then they discuss the footage.
Fujita Kazuhiro whites out and redraws a face 7 times. Asano Inio photoshops the hell out of landscape photographs and draws over them to make them look hand drawn. Saitou Takao goes straight from outline to a fat permanent marker. I get a kick out of seeing how each author ends up with a finished work.

i think i saw this on youtube . i liked it . it is very interesting to see how the whole process of making a page from different artists
Was this the documentary series that was being discussed and got a ton of requests for subs a long time back in that thread about the author/artist of Princess Jellyfish's autobiographical manga? I'm glad it's got a team on it.
Is there anything like this with western artists? It seems like (American) art relies entirely on independent publishing. There's never any sponsored projects. Only ever small podcasts with guest artists.
>>2457751
It is exactly that. Her episode (and the rest of the season) is subbed now.
If there's been a western equivalent I've yet to see it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGb6uSccNDo I thought this was a really great video, she usually doesn't get very many views except for this one but I think shes really deserving~

Not your personal army. It's become painfully obvious what you're trying to do. Go back to /b/ you underage retard.

How do I come up with a good/clever artist name for myself?
first thing on your right hand side
Take your favorite object/place
Take your favorite color
Take your favorite movie/anime
combine the 3.

Be creative. Don't think green, it's not creative.
Is the best way to learn anatomy from life without model to draw yourself naked in a mirror and break down the shapes of your body?
>>2462310
Only if you want all your figures to look lumpy and autistic.
Uh, I think I would be too focused to pose. Also, that picture you posted is fantastic.
>>2462310
Not really because everyone's body is unique. You have to learn and understand how a general average body looks so you can change it to your liking later on.
Hi dudes. I really need some advice.
I feel like my style has lately been moving towards something i don't want at all. My skill level has improved at a good rate, but the finished work turns out too clean.
What i want to achieve is something like Jeremy Mann, Benjamin Bjorklund, Mckeans joker stuff, Theo Prins etc. But with just a tad more detail. How do i go about learning to make my stuff less detailed, more painterly and impressionistic, but still make it seem finished and "clean"?
What and how do i study in your opinion?
>>2463414
i'll post some examples of where i want to go with rendering.
This is a bit stylized though, but still a level of rendering that i find really satisfying and interesting.

How do you feel about Sycra's Iterative Drawing technique? Is it legit or a meme? He speaks as if it's the greatest thing ever. I'm a beginner and enjoy drawing heads but to draw 20 of the same in one go must be draining.
>>2457101
>I'm a beginner and enjoy drawing heads but to draw 20 of the same in one go must be draining
Never gonna make it.
>>2457104
this.
Drawing should never be draining.
>>2457105
>Drawing should never be draining.
Go do 3 hours of figure quick sketches and then come back and tell me you still believe this.
What /ic/ think about crossed comic?
Well, any opinion?
>>2462896
Haven't read it, and I'm sure it's good.
Don't think there's enough detail put into the cover art though.
it makes me a juvenile plebeian but super edgy comics like this really capture my interest. Its not like its good or anything, I just want to see what kind of fucked up shit happens. Maybe its because I actively avoid all irl gore but theres still a part of me that wants to see fucked up shit so I just go the lukewarm route.
sorry for the blogpost
Looks like shit
Nah, honestly though, like most modern comics, would look better if they just didn't colour it at all.
I'm fucking triggered by this modern fad of stupid unnecessary blending everywhere.
