hello /ic/ this is my first time on this board so please go easy on the bully.

I was kinda of in a situation where I had to force myself to cut down time on hobby for the sake of maintaining my grade. Sadly between drawing and language study, I dropped drawing because I didn't see myself improving, or it would benefit me on the long run. anyone got any tips for drawing mechs and vehicles? I'm currently grinding my way through scott robertons book and drawing machinery/hard surfaces from life and reference images.

Ya warhol had a lot to do with his success. I personally really like his art because its fun but also has a message. His style is almost impossible to imitate as many artist have tried and failed miserably as I'm sure you've seen. If you think he's shit you have to sort of look at the context of the time. Theres always going to be movements that are anti traditional art and anti establishment, the key is doing it correctly and many artist can't do that like he did.
I feel this isn't finished, there is something I could add to make this.. better?

I think this would benefit from more contrast in your values. Your environment is looking a bit boring not because it's missing stuff to look at, but because it's mostly midtones. I made this to show what I mean. I'm sure it'd look even better with actual attention, not just some quick Photoshop fiddling.
It's helpful to check things in greyscale occasionally to make sure your contrast looks good. It's a lot easier to lose track of it when you're using color.
