>if it dosen't go on at first just push till' it goes on.
BAM. You are inside a Computer
I keep hearing how emulators, even for very old system like the snes are inacurate.
How come? Is there a vĂdeo showing said inacuracies? I cant notice no matter what
Depends on your definition of 'inaccurate' and what kind/degree of inaccuracy you give a rat's ass about.
Honestly a lot of the people who bitch about inaccuracy are just trying to justify the hundreds if not thousands of dollars they've sunk into muh original hardware and muh genuine cartridges.
The emulators are that, emulators. Your PC doesn't have the original hardware parts older consoles had, it's all done through software and reverse engineering.
There is no emulator that is 100% accurate but many come pretty close you wouldn't normally notice a difference, NES and Genesis are mostly pretty well emulated. SNES too, although some games still have some hiccups (FX chip, etc) and it doesn't work too well in some systems (PSP SNES emulator is famous for being shit).
The real stinker comes with 5th gen consoles, with that you're...

>I know a lot of people who claim the PSP SNES emulator isn't bad and I'm sure some people here will also claim that
I haven't used it before, how bad is that emulator exactly?
>renaming the characters in Japanese JPRGS
It's ok if it's Aeris->Aerith.
Other exceptions may exist but that's the one I encountered.
>naming the main character after yourself
>living vicariously through your characters instead of guiding them like a wizened sage

>aerith
You're making me really fucking mad right now
I just got Shin Megami Tensei If from mail. Any tips for the game and for a guy who does not speak Japanese very well
Also a General Shin Megami tensei /SMT/ I guess

>Any tips for the game and for a guy who does not speak Japanese very well
You're in luck, you don't have to speak Japanese at all to play it. You just need to be able to read it.

No seriously, you see this game is from a time before voice acting in videogames. So you can play with just the 50.000 kanji in the Dai Kan-Wa Jiten.
Where will you be when the Mega Drive turns 30?
>>3223975
that's in like 2 years
so most likely, pulling my pud right here

Hello!
I have a few SEGA hardware pieces whose behavior I can't fully comprehend...
- A clone Genesis model 2 that's able to play Virtua Racing (US)
- A CDX (US)
- A 32X (US)
- A Mega Drive / Mega CD 2 combo (Euro).
When I first tested the 32X, it didn't work on anything, till I got the CDX a couple nights ago. I'm guessing the 32X is not compatible through regions (which is reasonable). Is there any hardware based reason why the clone Genesis can run Virtua Racing but not make the 32X work?
And on terms of video... oh boy.
I...

emulate
retard.
>>3223913
So thats a standalone sega cd?
Grab a pack of cdrs and burn every game. Its not copy protected
>>3223913
Did you try other games besides Virtua Racing? Virtua Racing has a special chip in it that helps with the 3D. I don't own the game but what if it doesn't work with the 32x?
Btw, there is an actual 32x version of the game. I have a lot of questions about what you tried and didn't try. It'd just be a bit much to post.

Stop being such a little shit.
Is there a better sci-fi 4X game than "Stars!"
I haven't found one, but hoping you wonderful anons have opinions on the matter.
4X general as well, I suppose
Well, Stars! is definitely the very best of the genre. First GalCiv was quite good, MoO 1 and 2 were fine. However, mind you, any of these games were nowhere near the Stars.
>>3223914
That's what I thought.
Used to enjoy the first MoO, but after discovering Stars! in 2012 or so, never looked back.

It's not better, but try Warpath 97 for a bit of fun:

Name games that depict toys or similar environments like those in airfix dogfighter, micromachines, army men and re-volt.
thank you

Super Smash Bros.
Toy Commander on Dreamcast Nigga
games where your environment is a hour or children's room and your perspective is that of a toy or of a very small character.
Were they in the right?
In a parallel dimension

Unlicensed software is unlicensed software. Atari was salty af for blowing their chance to distribute the Famicom in the US and wanted a piece of the action. Tengen Tetris and Fantasy Zone are worth playing though.
>>3223754
>Atari was salty af for blowing their chance to distribute the Famicom in the US
Atari wanted to release the Famicom in the US???
Most popular Sega system in South America.
>>3223456
You forgot to put "3rd worlders General" as the title, OP.
Please fix this.
>>3223456
>>3223467
I know you guys like to be ignorant, but I must inform you that Brazil is just 1 country from latin america, not the whole continent.
The actual most popular Sega system in south america is the Sega Genesis.
>>3223456
i understand there's a lotta microcephaly down there
This console was release exclusively in Taiwan.
12 games were made for it.
It came out in '95 so it's no wonder it failed going up against the 3D PS & SS.
It looks like a SNES but the CPU inside is more like the one in a Genesis.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqH6Ck4_AHI
How does it compare to other 4th gen consoles in terms of graphics, sound, controller, build quality, how good are the games, etc?
Where does it fall in power level between SNES, Genesis, TG16, Neo Geo, and CD-i?
Does it have a mascot character like Nintendo...

My friend has/had one. I remember it being in his parents closet growing up, and I would beg him to bring it out because it was mysterious to me. Never did. I doubt they kept it as they moved and were unlikely to keep it. I'll ask tomorrow.
>>3223359
>an eject button for carts
Huh. Neat.
>>3223447
its exactly like the pal snes/super famicom
What's the best looking 2D fighting game and why is it The Last Blade 2?
>>3223350
Eh, 3rd Strike looks better than Last Blade 2.
>>3223379
I like 3rd Strike a lot, but these backgrounds...
you mispelled vampire savior: the lord of vampire
well i can seem to find any kind of old school shooters thread but what are some good mapping utilities for wolf 3D?
find the doom thread / retro fps thread
look up ECWolf
>mapping
>wolf3D
whatever you're thinking of making, it's been done a thousand times by now.
Wolf is too limited. Every worthwhile design possibility has been exhausted.
>>3223541
Basically this.
Look at Totenkopf SDL for a very well realized and detailed levelset.
AWW YEAH It's PSX time motherfuckers.
>emulation a shit
>MM3 master race
>>3223152
Ok have fun!
>>3223152
Are those CDRs good ? I've gone through 5 current brands and the only ones that seem to work for me are the VERBATIM cdr singles you buy at Dollar Store.
>>3223157
They definitely feel better. The disc tops are plastic coated, so you dont have to worry about scratching off the foil. Also they are literally blank. No branding, coating, or nuthin. Just a nice mirror finish.

Anybody else play Iron Helix? I miss it. As a kid it scared the hell out of me. Had a really creepy atmosphere to it. It was different too. Only other game I played that was like it was Alien: Isolation.
>>3223125
Never heard of it, OP. Looks pretty good.
You reckon I could run it on win7?
>>3224949
I haven't tried in years. I think the last time was on XP and it ran fine.
>>3223125
From the screen, reminds me of Space Hulk.
