Were there any superstitions for/against Left-Handed People?
Asking this because I watched an episode of American Dad a few years back and the mom there grew up in a catholic orphanage run by nuns and spanked her whenever she used her left hand, making her a righty.
>>1368925
The Aztecs believed that a left handed warrior literally had superpowers.
Because most cunts trained to fight versus normally right handed people and here comes a chump with his Macahuitl in the "wrong" hand, screwing up everything you ever trained for.
I recall similar stories with the result of making one ambidexterous.
It has nothing to do with theology, and everything to do with the purpose of education, and discipline, being conformity.

Which is sort of incredibly seeing how one in ten people is left-handed.
The Romans were a Nordic people. Why are people trying to hide this fact?

What Christian denomination requires that women always wear dresses? They're are a couple of families around my town that subscribe to this belief and I can't figure it out.

I'm in the states and we don't usually have gypsy"s. My first instinct is to say Amish, but these people are driving cars, using modern tech, etc.
What's up /his/, happy 4th of July.
could one of you guys point me in the direction of the best damned biography on my main man right here, George Washington?
I'm talking like Andrew Roberts' Napoleon good.
>>1368479
The all time best biography on him is Washington by Ron Chernow. It's lengthy but unbelievably good.
>>1368683
Probably not the smartest idea to spend money based on nothing but an anons word but I went and did it anyway, thanks mane
I've never read Napoleon, but I'm reading Ellis' His Excellency: George Washington right now and it's pretty comprehensive. Give it a try too, OP.

Well the kingdom of Kush was real... But they weren't west African.
Also, isn't there more diversity amongst Africa?
Like you have Browns to literal blacks.

But it is true. There were empires with sub Saharan Africa.
Also, a great deal of Islamification.

I don't know much of the specifics of the civil war, but if the South was successful in their push for independence, I think they'd end up as an English speaking Brazil.

We all know you think that, because you post it in every single thread about the Civil War.
Let's look at these four Jew cult creators
(although Abraham probably isn't a historical figure so let's just focus on Paul, Mohammed, and Joseph).
If they were to be brought to the present day how would they likely feel about how their cults turned out?
Paul would probably be baffled and angry that gay people are accepted, and that the world is even still around.
Mohammed would probably not be too pissed off. After all, he was a conqueror.
Joseph would not be able to stop laughing. "What a joke I pulled!" he would exclaim,...

Reminder that if you aren't Mormon, you are not a God fearing American patriot.
Mormon's have the best families, the best girls, and the best meme's.
Joseph would be proud.
How old is globalism? Some Orthodox identify the Tower of Babel with globalism, and this Orthodox article identifies the globalism of the EU with the Catholic Church, which in a way was the cause of the schism: http://www.events.orthodoxengland.org.uk/on-conquering-nationalism-and-globalism/

So I saw this game (pic related) on a video game thread on here a week ago and I just played it and it was actually quite good but there were some things that were really bothering me, in some maps the titles are wrong like having an Emperor instead of a Vogt and a Sovereign instead of a Mayor.
Also women holding offices and certain is another thing that bothers me. The voting system ain't bad but can be improved to be more historically accurate for each map, the same can be said for the office titles.
And another thing that really bothers me is that there are...

Why would Saul of Tarsus throw away wealth and prominence in Judaism and stop persecuting Christians to start preaching about Jesus as Paul, and himself be persecuted, imprisoned, and ultimately beheaded?
Also, any general thoughts on him? He seems to be somewhat divisive amongst Christians for some reason
>>1367818
Depends on whether or not you believe he was actually persecuted or not. There's sweet fuck all for independent confirmation of what happened to the apostles.
Even without that though, Paul is very easy to explain, he either had the sun bake his brain or fell off his donkey and hit his head on a rock or some shit.

Britain can't ever hold on to a colony, everytime they refuse to enfranchise the population.
By making the colonies self governing and having the crown only take care of foreign policy.
Americans were so isolationist at that time that they wouldn't care.
But having policy made for them from across the ocean is retarded, even more so during the age of sail.
