Is it ethical to have children if you're not happy with your genetics and social class?

Yes, hence why you need to upgrade your social class and genetics by getting a good spouse.

Unless you're a serf, you at least have the prospect of improving your social class.

Serfs could just go away and they wouldn't be serfs anymore.
At least, in western Europe it was like that. If you were living in eastern Europe then you were just a slave.

My English teacher said today that France got squashed in both the First and Second World Wars. I argued against him about that for a bit, but now that I think about it, they did lose at Verdun.

What does /his/ think? Did France 'lose' the First World War, even though the Énténte Powers won overall?

They won, but lost so many men that the UK took over the leading role in the Entente.
>>
>>583224
No, they won.
They started badly, but they contributed to the final victory more than Russia, the US and the british empire.

Partially correct. External globalist influence combined with internal treason by everyone's favorite tribe. World finance has been ruthless with Argentina.

Does anyone have any good info on the Protestant Reformation in Iberia and/or Portuguese and Spanish settlers in North America? It's sort of a genealogical query for me.I have this ancestor named Domingo Mederios (later family spelling Maderas, Maderio, Medeares, etc.). He lived in Virginia in the 1600's, but no one knows anything before that. His neighbors in the area he lived in seem to be mostly French and Dutch Protestants so we assume he came over with them, so maybe he was from the Spanish Netherlands. Mederios is a Portuguese name meaning "wooded place" but maybe he was a Spaniard of distant Portuguese ancestry.

He's recorded as being kind of well off, owning 3,000 acres for cattle ranching and tobacco and he imported some indentured servants, but his estate mostly went away when his heirs couldn't maintain it. I don't know if his good fortune was a result of coming to the colonies or if he already had money to set up shop when he came here. So in short I guess my questions are, aside from if there are any good sources on the history of Protestants in Portugal and Spain, was Protestantism at all popular among the Spaniards in the Netherlands (were there even that many there or was it just part of the Hapsburg empire?) or alternatively, was it at all common for Iberians from Brazil or the Caribbean to for whatever reason decide to try their luck in the British colonies up north? Though I figure they'd be more inclined to find somewhere Catholic like Louisiana to settle if that were there case. I'd ask these on a genealogy forum instead but while those people are good for asking about records and naming customs and that sort of thing, it's harder to find people knowledgeable about the overall historical circumstances. Thanks.

Those countries (Portugal and Spain) had very little Protestanism. Not saying it was impossible, but it was very unlikely.
It's much more likely that your ancestor was a regular Alberto Barbosa who just decided to try his luck in the States.

Basically some Protestants existed in Iberia. However, these Protestants did not expect the Spanish Inquisition. This, paired with the Counter Reformation and historically staunch Catholicism in Iberia, removed all signs of Protestantism.

Japanese, Chinese lived here alongside natives.

The early Spanish colonial army here consisted of just few thousand Europeans, another few thousand Japanese exile soldiers, Christian Chinese marines & sailors, and majority native warriors who were still armed in their local gear but had Spanish Coat of Arms/Crosses all over their shit.

Spic had-for a short time- Samurai and Kung Fu cunts under its command.

Question about greece and the greeks under roman rule.

After the macedonian wars and the roman conquest of greece, am i wrong for stating that the greeks seemed to have gotten used to the romans and in general, didnt mind being under roman rule? Am i wrong?

Did they resent the romans? Were there major revolts in greece 50, 100, 200 years after the conquest? I dont think ive read about any.

Did they just not mind the romans as much? "These guys are similar to us, they admire us and have adopted many things from our culture, why not just get along?". Was that the case?

Pretty much asking about the relationship between rome and roman controlled greece in general, and the average greek during the peroid. If a greek travelled west, would he have found rome and other cities quite different from his native greece? Were there any roman practices or aspects of roman culture that greeks always found "weird"?

Thanks in advance.

>the greeks seemed to have gotten used to the romans and in general, didnt mind being under roman rule? Am i wrong?Did they resent the romans

Dude, there was this massive revolt where all of greece united against their roman overlords. The one initiated by Pontus and where based Sulla fought.
Pretty much every roman living in greece was murdered there.
also there were lots of smaller uprisings and bloody sieges of cities (theben comes to mind) before.

Though probably 50-100 years later there were indeed no more resent, because rome itself became hellenized. You know, all the "Graecia capta ferum victorem cepit" stuff.
>>
>>582313
>Did they resent the romans?

Mostly just felt a sense of superiority over them.

>Were there major revolts in greece 50, 100, 200 years after the conquest?

Not really.

>If a greek travelled west, would he have found rome and other cities quite different from his native greece?

This was the case with the entire Roman empire. People seem to be under the mistaken impression that everyone became the same under Rome with a single uniform culture, each city was a nation and each region had its own sense of identity. The Greeks particularly. Instead of finding gymnasions, libraries and theatres in abundance, and Greek style agora marketplaces, they'd have been shocked to find an obsession with gladitorial fighting, beast slaying etc. Food was very different depending on where you are in the world, with the Romans preferring pork. Both liked wine though.
>>
>>582313
Well i small fact is that the greeks eventually came to call themselves Romioi and the byzantine empire Rhomania as did other people under Roman influence (modern Romania).

If England / Britain wasn't so aggressive for North America, there would probably be Swedish and Dutch speakers around New York, Dominant French Speakers in mid-America and all of Canada, and most of the south west and Florida would be Spanish.
