Why did the supposedly morally superior allies invade neutral Greece, instead of directly invading Bulgaria in the first world war?

Holy fucking shit, this has to be exaggeration. There's no way people could have gone through that without saying "nope, I'm out".
try reading about Stalingrad, it was basically Verdun with better weapons.

This faggot belongs in a forced labour camp for making shit tier digestible "history" courses monetizing on the fact that people are lazy, ignorant, and have low fucking attention spans.
Go to class and read faggots, don't listen to this liberal nonsense. The best part is his attempts to be le impartial man is that it is anti historical and a political position in of itself.

They would chain their prisoners together so that none could slip the load of three heavy goods which he or she was forced to carry. On one of these occasions – and there were many such – of the four thousand prisoners who began the journey loaded down in this fashion not even six ever saw their home again, all the others being left by the roadside where they fell. Is the Monty Hall problem an idiot detector? Like, anyone who cares about it is just a try hard deep thinker right? Not even trolling. I was just thinking to myself, "I'm pretty sure if I explain the Monty Hall problem to someone and their first reaction is 'this is stupid,' then I'm probably not going to get along with them."
>>576266
Honestly it's just a really fucking stupid argument either way.
>>576266
>caring a solved problem
what does this even mean you fucking tryhard?
>>576266
The whole argument was stupid. Probability would adjust itself. I wouldn't say that it's an "idiot detector", as it is a "pretentious deep thinker detector".
what was the Cathar tresure at Montsegur?

Was South Africa really a first world country or is just a meme?
>>575945
Meme. It was first world for white people and absolutely nobody else, which means that the vast majority of people were not living in first world conditions.
Even today, white South Africans live much better lives and in first world conditions compared to the shithole that is the rest of South Africa.
>>575945
>first world
refers to US allied countries during the Cold War.
>>575945
If you were white.
Now they're equal, and it's a shithole for everyone.

Is suicide morally acceptable? If so, under what circumstances?
Unless you're religious then it obviously is morally acceptable.
>>575563
why is that obvious? are you suggesting that only religious people have moral objections to things? or is that only true for suicide in particular?

Try telling us why is suicide morally unacceptable according to you.
Why most of third world countries are in the Tropic of Capricorn? Is it the hot climate that influence people?

Go read Wallerstein on world systems
Warm climate favors the development of life.
In a single Brazilian tree, you will find more insect species than you can have in all of Europe. In warm climate, resources are plentiful and thus life is easy.
Cold climate is related to less life essential resources. It's simply harder to survive there.
Cold climate, therefore, favors the development of intelligence and other skills. You'll need to learn how to use tools, the envorinment and, more importantly, your mind, to survive.
So now we have a tropical area where there is no natural selection for smarter...

Hello /his/, I need your guidance/advice.
I'm fairly new to this board and to history in general. I know the basics, but I want to know more. What really interests me is the general history of the 20th century (e.g. wars and everything related to them, literary and philosophical movements, important figures, politics, etc.). Nevertheless, ancient history seems very interesting also.
Basically my question is: where should I start? As mentioned, I'm new to this. Should I still start with the Greeks as everyone recommends?
Also, do you have any book...

Do you know what hermeneutics are? The difference between Althusser and EP Thompson on the nature of history? What Marxist class is? What "performance" of gender means?
Probably not. So you're below the basics.
Wallerstein on World systems theory
Kuhn / Lakatos on scientific revolutions
Needham on Chinese science
Unbound Prometheus on the industrial revolution
EP Thompson & Hammond and Hammond on the enclosures and production of class in the United Kingdom

Is Analytic philosophy the only credible modern philosophy?
>>575311
No. There are a wide variety of respected philosophy journals that print continental articles.
It's a label that means little these days.
No.
