After reading Max Stirner's, The Ego and Its Own
The God Delusion may be the spookiest thing ever. Dawkins is still a based asshole and witty as fuck.

>The God Delusion

Dawkins isn't scholarly qualified to talk about religion. It's like a dude writing a book 'the third trimester and what to expect'.
>>
Dawkins is spooked by 'evidence'?

Do you even know who Max Stirner is?
The guy was atheist
Unfortunately, other atheist hated him
Looking at you Marx and Engels

Philosophically, should you do what makes you happy with not a lot of money or should you make a lot of money at the expense of your happiness?

Asking for uhh, a friend.

The latter option is more spooky than the former.

I've never read Stirner, could you summarize this "spook" thing?

What would you do with a lot of money? Humans work to live, not live to work.

Sikhism develop as a synthesis of Hinduism and Islam during the Islamic conquests of India as essentially an islamists resistance organization. To this day, one of their compulsory requirements is keeping a knife for public security (Muslims again) and they are the de facto soldier class

How did this dull-eyed hickish peasant who looks like your typical rural village drunken sleazeball become the 'red emperor' of the entirety of China?

Because the vast majority of China's population at the time consisted of dull-eyed hickish peasants who wanted one of their own in charge.

Most Americans refuse to learn about history of the 19th Century because European imperialism is deeply upsetting to them. Intellectually, US academia is stunted by ideology and is not open as the rest of the world. In comparison, there is intense study of the colonial experience in other parts of the world.

Americans are reaching a point where in the study of history, they are starting to fall behind due to lack of academic freedom. I come from a third world country with heavy government interference, and even then it has freer history departments than can be found in an average US college.

Can someone explain this image to me
>>
>>821831

I can try. It's a symbolic portrayal of America that's probably a little more telling of the artist than it is the United States.

The top left is a distracting record. The top right big nosed(jewish) patriarchs hiding behind their money.

The women are portrayals of glorified women. The head is a symbol of the Ku Klux Klan. Holding a noose and a club to beat the drum with a tommy gun one arm of a politician the other of a criminal.

A jewish flag where the crotch should be. One leg is obviously a missile attached to some kind of faucet (oil?) and the other leg is defining beauty standards.

The drawing screams "America is some crazy giant monster coming to FUCK our SHIT UP HARD".

>philosophy is useless!

While true, philosophy does deal with many "useless" things as far as the average and even above average person is concerned, how come people don't realize that philosophy is a natural, inevitable product of cultural health at its peak?

It doesn't matter that it's useless, when a culture is at its healthiest peak in history and courageous and ripe enough for serious contemplation, philosophy always happens naturally. Useless or not, it is a sign of the highest health.

A culture and even an individual that never engaged in philosophy never reached that peak of health and natural born strength like the Greeks did.

are laws a perversion to evolution, are we impeding ourself through government and certain rules and eventually regressing our true potential. for many things like eugenics and...using 100 percent of mind and being less restricted unable us to leave and progress to the point of immortality

Evolution doesn't mean progression. It just means better at fucking out loads of little guys to fuck out their own loads and so on.

>are laws a perversion to evolution

Evolution has no goals, it's just a process, and it often involves trade-offs between multiple interacting factors, such as between natural selection and sexual selection.

There are tremendous insights to be gleaned by people who managed to see things needle-like.

However, I'm on your boat of seeking out a sum of the most "helpful/insightful"

Honestly, I'd be good with just Marcus with healthy incursions into Heraclitus and doses of Epicurus (Plato and Aristotle are both maybe just a bit too deep for practicability)

If you're willing to adventure beyond the Greeks for a reconcilable group that'll set you up for life

Marcus Aurelius, "Meditations"
Lev Tolstoy, "Gospels in Brief"
Ludwig Wittgenstein, "Tractatus" & "Investigations"
The Tao Te Ching or Te Tao if that version floats you
The Collected Writings of Abraham Lincoln (read this in conjunction with the Tao)

Dashes of Schopenhauer, the Bhagavad Gita. A slim volume on Zen
