History and information on Christian Zionism and apocalyptic beliefs of Christians today and in the 20th century

>Christian Zionism is a belief among some Christians that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land, and the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, is in accordance with Biblical prophecy. The term began to be used in the mid-20th century, superseding Christian Restorationism.[1][2]

Some of my relatives sent me a Jimmy Swaggart Study Bible. It is stuffed full of nutty commentary from Jimmy in red, apparently oblivious to how this can be seen in light of bibles that have the words of Jesus in red. If you wish I can quote some stuff from it. Just request a verse that you want to see his interpretation of.

Ezekiel 38:18
Once again, this is the Battle of Armageddon. "My Fury shall come up in My Face," corresponds to the statement of Zechariah (Zech. 14:3)

Ezekiel 39:9
to think that something being burned "with fire seven years" allows us to know the extent of the destruction
39:10-11
No doubt, several millions of men are going to be killed in that which is know as "the Battle of Armageddon." Even employing modern equipment to hasten the burial of so many bodies, still, the stench will "stop the noses of the passengers."
39:12-13
The Lord links this spectacle to the sanctifying of His Name

Both.

I like the German Empire, and I think history would have been better if World War I hadn't happened. It's very sad that so many people died on both sides and many states disappeared afterwards, like the German Empire or the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Do you agree with me, or do you think that the II Reich was bad and World War I was necessary?

Nothing makes me happier than dead and suffering Germans, regardless of the era, location, or circumstances.

LOL, you are just being ironic, right?
>>
>>920606
Those before world war 1 are generally fine, it's when the rest of Europe wanted to play it peaceful and the Germans didn't I start to hate them.

Violence creates dead people. Dead people are weaker than any living person. The most violent and powerful empires in the history of the world are now nothing but a memory/legacy if they no longer exist.

Why did the Stalin allied with Hitler in 1939? And how was the relation of Stalin with the western democracies in those times?

>>919756
she's a real qt
>>
>>919756

Before that, Stalin tried to get on the good side of western powers, but came across as a twisted fucking psychopath so they didnt like him

then he allied with Hitler because they both wanted Poland, but Stalin deep down didnt trust Hitler.

The war might have been very different if it werent for fucking norway and sweden. While Stalin still was on team Hitler, he invaded Finland, and England and France were actually planning on sending help, but Norway and Sweden used their neutrality to deny them path, so Finland was on its own.

Hitler invaded Denmark and then Norway when he heard of this plan to make sure they wouldnt get a good position above them. Then Hitler turned on Stalin because reasons, forcing him into the arms of the allies

sorry about tangent
>>
>>919756
Stalin was well aware that Hitler wanted to destroy the USSR (public knowledge, since he said as much in Mein Kampf) and extend his make-believe empire all the way to the borders of Imperial Japan (unofficially aligned with Germany and also wanting to cut into the USSR), so he attempted to rally Europe and America around opposition to Germany. European "leaders", especially Churchill, didn't like Hitler but they in fact knew that Hitler was going to invade the USSR and that's what they wanted him to do, while the USA was in full isolationist ideology mode after the shitfest of WWI. Completely isolated and knowing that the USSR was not ready to face war, certainly not on two fronts, Stalin took the only means of action available and agreed to a //non-aggression treaty//, which is not an //alliance//, with the Nazis and a peace treaty with Japan in 1941.

What was his fucking problem?

Why did the United States choose not to resettle its population of blacks in Africa or South America?
40 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>918851
They did.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberia
>>
>>918858
But im talking about the entire population after their value disappeared after the civil war
>>
>>918891
There were states where slavery was already outlawed before the civil law. The government couldn't relocate black citizens any more than it could relocate any other citizens.

Some went on to be valued tax-payers like those of the Greenwood District, so it's not like the government would oppose their continued presence.

And blacks were still as valuable in the work force as poor whites. They just used to be more valuable because you didn't have to entice them to work for you. Now they had the right to be compensated for their work and could change employers as they saw fit.

pic unrelated.

do you ever feel like this government imposed on you as grown so powerful we cannot rid ourselves of it, especially in such a large population, do you feel like the IRS is racketeering you. How do you feel about the statement "taxation is theft"

As a minarchist, I feel taxation is fine, but it is being so abused in our current system, especially so the senators and so on in their triple digit salaries.

Taxation is theft, but so is property.

>>918182
How is property theft? Ownership of property, in of itself does not imply coercion.
>>

You reap the benefits of a taxed society by living in the country. The way things are now taxation is needed to keep the infrastructure going but not needed at the level it is done in my opinion.

Morals.jpg

There's a growing amount of literature in moral psychology that argues peoples' ways of seeing the world differ starkly across political divides.

Conservatives, strangely enough (and as you can see in pic), are said to have a more egalitarian spread of moral considerations, while those on the left are apt to consider care and fairness above all.
They also have different conceptions of fairness. Liberals want everyone to have the opportunity to reach a certain level - i.e. short person needs higher chair to be level with others - while conservatives respond with "if he gets a high chair, everyone should!"

Jonathon Haidt has also argued that, much in keeping Hume, it is our passions and not reason which shape our moral judgements. And as such it is those who experience sympathy to a greater degree that become liberal (supporting political policies that support the "little guy"). Whereas rightists are usually people more prone to feeling pride or disgust. These people are more patriotic, consider societal order the ultimate achievement, and are much more likely to oppose acts they don't like the thought of (sodomy, anyone?).

What do you think of this? Do you like the idea that it is our feelings, and not our reason, which are shaping our political stances?

And, if you have the time, please attempt this short academic questionnaire on this topic:
