I'm a Christian now so I believe that my life has purpose, but when I was a militant atheist I thought life had no meaning or purpose. It blew my mind how people could attach importance to things if we were just the product of a clusterfuck of atoms. So I would take every opportunity I could to spout my half-baked ideas to every unwilling ear I could, which pretty much became my purpose in life.

Do you think this is why so many atheists are so vocal about their beliefs? Do their beliefs "fill" that same spiritual hole to give meaning and shape to their life? Do we as humans have an inherent need to do this?

Christians and atheists are both plebs. They need a purpose to be predefined to their lives. The truely enlightened man makes his own purpose.
>>
>vocal
I have never seen a vocal atheist who is not either adolescent or a celebrity. In my experience, atheists are if anything quiet types.
>>
Why can't atheists be allowed to be enthusiastic about a humanistic lifestyle? Just because they find happiness through non-religion, doesn't mean you one-up them if they congregate to discuss society, politics, philosophy, etc.?

Also genuinely disappointed if mental gymnastics caused your conversion, instead of a love of Jesus.

Why didn't they just walk around it?

When and why did "Mad Queen" chess take off? Why weren't people happier with the older piece movement rules? And why did Chess, as opposed to some other game, win the premier spot of the "intellectual game", at least in Europe?

People just like variety. If you play chess all of the time, you will begin to notice patterns, and while this is part of becoming a good player, it also causes some of the mystique and excitement that one might have had when they first started learning to dissipate. It's why Go earned some popularity in the west in the last several years. I for one enjoy the sense of confusion and not knowing exactly what the expect when playing games.
>>
>>688122
What the fuck is Mad Queen chess?
Also none of the chess variants are truly popular. 99% of the games are still traditional rules.

>I for one enjoy the sense of confusion and not knowing exactly what the expect when playing games.
Don't kid yourself. Unless you are a GM, you are not even close to knowing even most patterns. If you know exactly what to expect when playing chess, you need to stop playing your 4 year old sister and move on to tougher competition.

Hi, we are a new religious cult based around the unification and evolution of mankind.

We are seeking to grow our number and our ideals, they aren't as far fetched as a lot of other groups you see out there. Take a look at the long description on our Facebook page, it's work the read even if you don't join us

Will answer any question that you have.

We are in a very early stage, prototype if you will, hence why so far there isn't much about us around the basis of what we stand for.

Undoubtedly the Brits, the only issue was that it was full of Soviet spies, which is probably the only reason Soviet intelligence was half decent

ok i am not white. so why different nations hate each other in euorope , i only have a little idea. but whats up with jew hating?

where i am from jews are also hated.... though no jews live here. most of the population hate them cuz there its in the root of their religion, islam. most of them never even saw a jew in his life. this religion has evolved around, keeping "jew hating" in the center. but dont feel special they, also hate all other religions.

i grew up in a christian family. so from bible i understand its also have a lil bit "jew hating" inside. so its possible for christians, in right condition, blow up that hate as a religious rage.

but when i look at ww1, ww2, and even till today(no one is killing them, but), there is a strong "jew hate" feeling, but it hardly feels religious. i understand when muslim world hates them, mainly religious, some political.

why nazi/euorope/other white people hates jew? is it religion? doesnt feel like. political? plz explain senpai

Nazi ideology conflated Jews and Bolshevism which they saw as directly opposed to their own goals.

Anti-Jewish feelings in Europe in general and throughout history are caused by the Jews being "the Other", that is a group that is sufficiently different (customs, religion, but also food, clothing, language, work etc.) while at the same time being a part of the same broader society - as opposed to being distinct but forming for example their own state. As such they were convenient scapegoats and frequent targets of oppression.

They were not alone in this, for example the Roma people have a similar history of being hounded out throughout centuries.

hitler wants power > easiest way to get power politically is populism > populism needs a scapegoat to shit on to work > jews are historically a scapegoat in europe and fairly wealthy while the rest of germany was poor

Does the true enlightenment not come once you realize you need to be red-pilled about having been red-pilled? That atheism, nihilism, opposing progressiveness, etc etc is in fact just babby's first questioning? That it's just passivity and pure laziness that prevents you from going even further?

True patricians stand above it. They continue to seek meaning, to question their own morality, to truly face themselves with their own mortality, etc etc etc.
Red-pill philosophy is just a lazy excuse to continue being a fat pathetic cynic neckbeard who parasite off others, is too lazy to care about the outside world and the true matters, and who spend all his time at trivialities.

Muslim Hagia Sophia looks much better desu.

I've been there. I'm Orthodox but I was tempted to convert to Islam because it was so awe inspiring. Sort of makes you question the fact that Allah might not be real compared to Yahweh.

Did the united states play a significant role?

I don't know jack shit about, which is odd, considering what i know about d-day and the battle of the bugle. was it just brits and grits, or did the americans really go all out on the germans for the first time?

American land involvement in North Africs proper was fairly limited. The fist action you see them in is Operation Torch, in November of 1942, only about half a year before the Axis were driven back to Italy.

That being said, there were some battles, most famously Kasserine, and the Americans were quite involved in the Tunisian campaign.

I would recommend The Path To Victory by Douglas Porch if you're interested in the subject ( and just the Mediterranean theater in general)
>>
>>685437
I don't know much about anything, but from what I gather North Africa was American forces' testing ground in the European theater (it might not be, but I always grouped in the North African fighting with Europe for simplicity).

It didn't do so great at first, with the Battle of Kasserine Pass, but it got better with Patton taking over. Montgomery was able to hold out until until outside aide came in, and once Rommel's forces were defeated in the region, the Allies were able to move on to Sicily.

Also, I can't even think of the trials those men faced at the Battle of the Bugle. So much musical brass.... fallen..... wasted, musical, youth.

Is Communism/Socialism tenable or plausible at all, /his/?

Humans are too greedy in nature
>>
Socialist structures have been in practice for the past 150 years and current socialist-leaning countries are still holding their own today.

But eventually something like true socialism/communism will have to take hold as resources become more scarce. Capitalism banks on a plethora of major resources to accumulate, produce, and sell in a market, but that market goes into a full panic mode when the product becomes scarce.

Take whale blubber for example, as whales died, blubber for lanterns became extremely hard, forcing people to ration it and divide it among people so that it could still be used, until it was replaced with the rise of fossil fuels and oil.

Once major resources become depleted, rationing and dividing what's left among the people for common use becomes a necessity until a plentiful substitute is found.

but Capitalist markets have always survived because a substitute was always found to replace the depleted resource, I don't think we've come into a situation yet where a resource became scarce with no alternative methods to replace it. should be interesting to see when it happens.

Your argument makes sense but I feel like in modern times except for something really really hard to make like oil gasoline society will find a new source of resources.

Iron, copper, silicon, uranium and coal are all plenty abundant.
