Is there a legitimate modern case to be made for Monarchism? I haven't met anyone in person that actually believes this is an ideal way of governing, but I'm sure many exist somewhere out there. I feel like it's hard to argue because frankly the idea of giving somebody almost absolute power based on their bloodline or something similar is inherently flawed.
Are there any monarchists on /his/? Is there any argument to be made for monarchism that wouldn't rely on historical examples, considering arguments could also be made in the other direction through...

Franco had to consolidate his power after the Civil War. No way was going to war for a second time, against France a good thing for Franco, especially when a large portion of your population was sympathetic to the French and still antagonistic to your rule. If the Spanish had gone to war and pull troops out of Spain to fight in the rest of Europe, those Republican and Anarchist elements still licking their wounds would no doubt return when you are weak domestically.
