Paul preached a number of doctrines that were considered disgusting and pagan by James and Peter (who had actually spoken with Jesus).

Just been thinking about this alot lately. Not really talking about any specific god, just any being whos supposedly perfect and all powerful. The way I see it there's basically two reasons god could have created life. 1 It wants something 2 it needs something.
I don't think it's the second one, since if it was all powerful it would never need anything. But isn't the first one kind of selfish? Even if you give it the benifit of the doubt and say it created life so it could see it prosper. Isn't it kind of selfish to do so knowing all of the pain and suffering involved with survival in this world. All just so god can be happy. Admittedly life has its high notes. But if I were creating something and I knew that 95 percent of it was going to be awful for everyone other than myself and a lucky handfull, then why do it at all?

Keep in mind they aren't one uniform group. Different Amish communities have different standards for what they will or will not tolerate. This allows many Amish to have businesses where they sell things like furniture to "The English" which is their word for anybody who is not Amish.
Well-meaning people but misguided. They rightfully recognized the degeneracy of modern society and decided to cut off entirely from it and do their own thing and completely disregard new technologies. But they fail to realize that certain new technologies and structures in the modern developmental world can be greatly beneficial. Also you can't ever isolate yourself from the world at large, you will always be part of it no matter how much you try, they will eventually be forced to face the reality like everyone else, the world isn't like it used to be. I think they will be gone within 100 years entirely, when they realize the huge advantages of modern technology.

Depends how you define "conspiracy" theory. I mean, there was a concerted conspiracy amongst Southerners to kill Lincoln. That's proven at this point. Same with Nazi scientists after the war "defecting" to America with Operation Paperclip.
But as said, the NSA is a big one. The whole of the military industrial complex is another. My only really crazy one is that UFOs are fake and pretty much the whole UFO craze is created and kept going by the government in order to conceal the real shit they do.
