Lads, the spooks ate closing in on me. If I don't like Dickens then someone is there to call me a pleb. If I haven't read Shakespeare then someone is there to call me a pleb. Similarly for all sorts of authors. If people actually read all that shit people say that people should read, they'd spend fucking years on it.
And they never mention the F word: fun. Why the fuck do I have to pretend that "PENETRATING INSIGHTS" are hidden within novels? Hey DeLillo, you senile fuck, why not you write something enjoyable to read? Hey Pynchon, am I being paranoid...

Are you just blogposting or is there a point to your whining?
I read most of Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, and Kafka by the time I was 19, in addition to 1-3 books each by probably somewhere in the dozens of authors. Also in addition to the shit they make you read for school.
Its really not difficult if you put in ~1-2 hours a day for a couple years. If youve gotten through a wide variety of acclaimed works and still dont find yourself appreciating them, you probably just dont have a mind for literature and there is no sense in wasting more time on it.

Maybe audio books will help.
Why have British and German culture been philosophically opposed for so long? The analytical/continental philosophy is the most well known, but the Sturm und Drang literary movement follows the exact same pattern. It seems like Germans are chronic feelsposters, while Brits tend toward autism.
The Jews hate Germans.
The Jews own Britain.
It's that simple.
The analytic/continental began with the Vienna circle's explicit attempt to break away from European philosophy. It isn't an Anglo philosophy. It's perpetuated by a ruthless international clique dedicated to the domination of the German people and the preservation of the Jewish people.

Otto Weininger pls
The empiricism goes back to the English Renaissance and the hard materialism of the Tudors. Then the scientific revolution: Newton et al. Then the industrial revolution: Bazalgette, Brunel, etc. Then 20th century logic.
Germans have severe autism and a laughably precise autismo-language that lends itself to opaque and convoluted ramblings about their own personal beliefs (German philosophy). English is a very flexible language which is one of the main reasons the Anglo Sphere has the greatest literary tradition. Austrians managed to counter this with music, and being...

Share your coat of arms and some /his/tory about it.
I'll start off
>Allen clan
>Irish and Scottish
>the motto was Strong and Faithful
>>1095172

I just find it odd that the folks over on /int/ have a thread for it and we don't.
>that guy literally stabbung a guy in the ass with a falchion
>no ref call
Lmao french apparently cant pierce polish armor
>>1095167
What is the point of this shit?
They're jumbling together weapons and armors from different centuries.
They pointlessly use blunt swords as shitty maces (then what's the point, just use a fucking mace).
There doesn't seem to be proper refereeing happening.
I mean, I'm sure they have fun (somehow), but it's such a shitshow that it hardly warrants a thread anywhere but in /asp/.

It's pretty hard to reenact mortal combat if it's not mortal
Tbh, it's just NEETs having a field day
When all is said and done, one philosopher has to be right. Plato, Heidegger, Lacan...
but why is it Icycalm?
Yeah, but then what's the point? Why don't human beings seem to care at all that their own existence doesn't make sense. That there is no afterlife and if you fuck up here, there is no consequence for doing so?
Everything he's right about has already been said before, and everything he came up with by himself is garbage.
Was Falkenhayn's plan really to whittle away at French troops at Verdun or did he just make that up to after failing to take Verdun?
>>1095014
talking through my arse, yes it to kill off french infantry and possibly supply
/v/ is talking about WWI if anyone is in the mood for condescension
>>>/v/336682359
>>1095014
He made that up. The point of his offensive on Verdun was to crush the french spirit, by causing a slaugther, causing seddition, and forcing the frogs to make a peace who would be advantageous to the germans. Back then, Falkenhayn knew that Germany could not win the war, but it could also not lose the war.
However, he completly failed at this, because, instead of breaking the french spirit, it renew it. The french propaganda turned Verdun in some kind of epic battle against the disgusting german war machine...

ITT we write a hardcore history episode one line at a time
>I want you to think back to when you were a child
>imagine a high-definition panoramic view of your childhood home, now imagine it on fire.
>the people who did this are entirely foreign to you, so unlike yourself that they might as well be from a different planet, think H.G. Wells 'War of the Worlds' aliens.
>I'M NOT SAYING THERE'S A JFK CONSPIRACY, BUT MAYBE THERE'S A JFK CONSPIRACY
Who's your favourite British King/Queen?
Pic related, I was just reading about this lad.
>The problem of the Prince of Wales's debts, which amounted to the extraordinary sum of £630,000 (equivalent to £58,700,000 today[6]) in 1795.
How the fuck do you spend that much money?
In spite of only ruling 6 years, I would say edward vi. Very intelligent boy, ruthlessly cunning. He would have made an excellent king if he survived.
>>1094904
Just how intelligent, ruthlessly cunning can a 9 year-old boy really be? C'mon now.
>>1094904
is this a meme? he never even ruled
Ask me what you want about Sardinian history and I shall answer.
Can any traces of ancient nuragic languages be found in sardinian italian*
>>1094849
What do you mean by Sardinian Italian exactly?
If you meant to say in modern day Sardinian, then yes.
There are some words of pre- indo european origins, on the top of my head the words usai (forest) and the word mògoro (cliff).
Some scholars have made parallels between proto-Sardinian and Basque or between proto-Sardinian and the Etruscan language.
>>1094871
>mògoro
gara means mountain in various slavic languages
Why do schools make us worship this guy? He was a dick.
gotta worship someone
>>1094835
Because he will make America great again
Because he won the popularity contest and your early schooling gives you a one dimensional cutout of everyone.
Then: Sex with a man is just an act.
Now: To have sex with a man you must identify as member of a group that has sex with men. Thereafter you shall forever stay member of a group that has sex with men.
Who created identity politics around homosexuality /his/? At first I was sure it were the Christians, but now I more and more believe it's the Germans. Unwashed barbarians with no sense of aesthetic, no wonder they never understood the appeal - if you're into men, certainly "something in your head must be wired differently". Fucking idiots.
>>1094717
I kek'd but your right, the fact that people make it qn identity issue is ridiculous.
>>1094717
Just fuck a dude already.

most countries nowadays are run by cucks so he was ultimately right

didn't he mean that even the common man should have remedial knowledge of how the state works? instead of just public school rich kids who are groomed into leadership positions?
Do you tend to discredit the leadership potential of an individual based on what they happen to do for money?
