Is it ethical to have children if you're not happy with your genetics and social class?
Yes, hence why you need to upgrade your social class and genetics by getting a good spouse.
Unless you're a serf, you at least have the prospect of improving your social class.

>implying
Serfs could just go away and they wouldn't be serfs anymore.
At least, in western Europe it was like that. If you were living in eastern Europe then you were just a slave.
My English teacher said today that France got squashed in both the First and Second World Wars. I argued against him about that for a bit, but now that I think about it, they did lose at Verdun.
What does /his/ think? Did France 'lose' the First World War, even though the Énténte Powers won overall?
>>583224
>they did lose at Verdun
???
They won, but lost so many men that the UK took over the leading role in the Entente.
>>583224
No, they won.
They started badly, but they contributed to the final victory more than Russia, the US and the british empire.

Can you provide relative information? I'm curious
What happened to Argentina?
British imperialism.

Wasn't he the president who helped Iran bomb a Jewish centre?
Does anyone have any good info on the Protestant Reformation in Iberia and/or Portuguese and Spanish settlers in North America? It's sort of a genealogical query for me.I have this ancestor named Domingo Mederios (later family spelling Maderas, Maderio, Medeares, etc.). He lived in Virginia in the 1600's, but no one knows anything before that. His neighbors in the area he lived in seem to be mostly French and Dutch Protestants so we assume he came over with them, so maybe he was from the Spanish Netherlands. Mederios is a Portuguese name meaning "wooded place"...

Those countries (Portugal and Spain) had very little Protestanism. Not saying it was impossible, but it was very unlikely.
It's much more likely that your ancestor was a regular Alberto Barbosa who just decided to try his luck in the States.
t. portuguese who had ancestors living in the USA then came back with gold

Basically some Protestants existed in Iberia. However, these Protestants did not expect the Spanish Inquisition. This, paired with the Counter Reformation and historically staunch Catholicism in Iberia, removed all signs of Protestantism.
Can we have an interesting historical photograph thread?
I will start with a bunch of photos from the fall of the Soviet Union

Is there any historical relevance to Tarot cards? Any examples of significant people relying on them?

Japanese, Chinese lived here alongside natives.
The early Spanish colonial army here consisted of just few thousand Europeans, another few thousand Japanese exile soldiers, Christian Chinese marines & sailors, and majority native warriors who were still armed in their local gear but had Spanish Coat of Arms/Crosses all over their shit.

>Albanians
>every scientist, general, artist etc ever was Albanian
>Hitler himself called Albanians the master race

You can apply the same logic to Serbs, Croats, Bulgarians, Hungarians, almost everyone in the region.

Question about greece and the greeks under roman rule.
After the macedonian wars and the roman conquest of greece, am i wrong for stating that the greeks seemed to have gotten used to the romans and in general, didnt mind being under roman rule? Am i wrong?
Did they resent the romans? Were there major revolts in greece 50, 100, 200 years after the conquest? I dont think ive read about any.
Did they just not mind the romans as much? "These guys are similar to us, they admire us and have adopted many things from our culture, why not just get along?"....

Dude, there was this massive revolt where all of greece united against their roman overlords. The one initiated by Pontus and where based Sulla fought.
Pretty much every roman living in greece was murdered there.
also there were lots of smaller uprisings and bloody sieges of cities (theben comes to mind) before.
Though probably...

For alternative history - How to get a more diverse North America? So not all speak English, greater cultural differences between countries, etc.
WW2 kinda made it hard but there used to be newspapers in the Midwest in German. You can probably guess why that stopped. Makes you wonder if it would have stayed diverse
>>581908
If England / Britain wasn't so aggressive for North America, there would probably be Swedish and Dutch speakers around New York, Dominant French Speakers in mid-America and all of Canada, and most of the south west and Florida would be Spanish.
look at more diverse portions of the americas for examples
