>Reality is stable or else we couldn't even be here right now
>There is no truth/absolute knowledge
Pick one
> Reality is stable
It isn't. That is why miracles of God happen all the time.
>>1307225
lel what
>>1307196
absolute knowledge can't exist because of our distorted perception of reality, or even the possibility that it could be distorted.
plus there's no evidence on reality being stable, and there will never be any.
Could you dig a tunnel to a moat to draw the water out?
Not without being barraged by missiles I assume.
Sure you're just going to have arrows shot at you the entire time and will only succeed in making the walls taller
How similar is the old testament, the Bible, the torah and the quran are?
What is the connection and links between these abrahamic faiths?

Why did segregated Japanese units in WWII perform better than Buffalo Solider units even though negro-americans were not put in concentration camps during the war?
>>1306560
>Why did segregated Japanese units in WWII perform better than Buffalo Solider units
According to who?
>>1306561
military records and eye witnesses. Black units were notorious for cowardice and fleeing in the face of the enemy

Was the South as glorious as they say? Serious question since I know little about Southern history and I haven't traveled much.
As glorious as who says? Glorious when? Regardless, probably not, since it had really never been "glorious."
>>1305500
Glorious in what?
>>1305500
If you owned a plantation it was probably pretty fun. If not you were probably a slave or a small hold farmer. Not much industry or non agricultural buisness opportunities. Hard to compete with slave labor.
So like in any society if you belonged to the wealthiest and most powerful class of folks, things were good.
What was prehistoric humor like, /his/?
This is tangential, but chimpanzees have told jokes by putting shoes on their head and repeatedly signing the word "hat" while laughing.
>>1305247
Lots of rape, probably
>>1305247
Shit and piss jokes. These are the most relatable, regardless of background, which is why even children find them funny.

It doesn't matter which tribe wins, all chimps are savages

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but were obtuse writing systems like Chinese (and by extension, Japanese) developed to keep the general population illiterate and to ensure only the rich and royalty could afford to learn to read, and through that maintain power?
You're wrong.
>>1305015
I doubt it. The character's that are in the written Chinese language developed from picture symbols. Eventually they became more complex over time until the government had a simplified version created to make it easier for everyone to learn. To the Chinese, it is not as complicated to learn as it looks to non Chinese, so I doubt they made it hard to keep out peasants.
Here is an example of how it developed over time. I know ri isn't the most complex looking of words but it shows how the words came from pictures. For ri, it started out as a drawing of the sun, and now today looks more like a box than a circle.

If the atom bomb could never and would never be invented, how would this have affected the end of the pacific war and more importantly, the cold war?
>>1304380
For starters, there wouldn't have been a cold war.
It woulda been WW2b: Allies vs. Commies, within a week of the end of WWII.
>>1304380
The war would have lasted years longer and millions of Japanese would have died in the bomb and blockade strategy the US would have adopted. The Navy would never have supported an invasion, as Admirals King and Nimitz made clear. How many American and Allied casulties are unknowable.
>>1304380
> how would this have affected the end of the pacific war
Not that much, desu. Japan was on its last legs, and what was keeping them from surrendering was internal uselessness as much as anything else. If nothing else, starvation would bring them down.
>the cold war?
While I"m sure you'll hear the line that nukes kept the peace, that's probably not really true. Modern industrialized states are fully capable of enormous...
