I'm from /tg/ and need to know everything you've got about the Minoans. Is the theory that they became the Sea Peoples utter bullshit or no?
Nobody knows. I think the sea peoples were Vikings.

Could have been an antediluvian civilization drowned in the flood. That would kind of cover the whole underwater thing.

They were never used in actual battle, even by the Arabs, who preferred horses for their cavalry.
They were mainly used for supply lines and transport. Khalid ibn al-Walid made excellent use of them during his conquests of Roman Syria and the Sassanid Empire.

Camelfags, when will they learn?
>>741391
>They were never used in actual battle
I thought there was one instance where horses or some other proper war beast were found to be afraid of camels and they were used to spook them.
Why should we do good works if we're already saved?
I don't think someone who actually internalized Jesus' message, and was saved, would question the point of doing good.
Why not sin all your life and convert on your deathbed?
>>740786
You answered your own question, "good works" literally mean "things that one should do".
Is the modern backlash against Andrew Jackson's legacy justified? Was he overzealous and bloodthirsty, or was he just damn good at what he did?
>>740735
He was just Damn good at what he did.
No, they just finished destroying the confederacy so left wing historians need another American figure to destroy. The real question is who next? My guess is TR or Jefferson.
>>740735
Just that damn good
Where do you think we would be had the Firearm not been invented? Better or worse?
more pikes, less shots
>>740095
Things would be a hell of a lot worse.
The invention of the firearm allowed for many of the big societal institutions that had been staples of human history to finally come to an end. By making it easier to raise and train large numbers of fairly effective troops, it signaled the deathknell for the warrior classes that formed almost everywhere. Individual martial skill became less important, and the lower aristocracy that generally made up the warrior classes were undermined. Popular uprisings suddenly become...

Was America justified in the internment of its citizens who happened to be of Japanese descent?
Was there ever a real possibility of a Japanese-American "fifth column" undermining the US war effort?
Does this deed, and the subsequent heroism of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, shame the United States?
American internment camps were not that bad. There was no skeletal figures like that.
But the 'reparations' the US paid them was laughably small. If you're interned when you run a small shop or business, your whole life is ruined.
>>740403
America is pure scum though, especially in WWII. No one knows (in America) that they pardoned war criminals who conducted disgusting experiments on other human beings, both Japanese and Germans. But they 'won', so they are the good guys.
>>740414
my senpai had a mid sized business which was sold for pennies when they were interned. we had nothing when we got back out. our house had been burned down.
my family was angry, but rebuilt. we're rich again. reparations would be nice, but what would be better is if people left law abiding citizens alone, and PUNISHED criminals.
I don't want no punishment just because we were hurt. I want more punishment, but only for criminals.
japanese were and remain models citizens because we're...

The year is 2016. Man has peered into the darkest corners of the cosmos, and observed the universe on its smallest scale. You walk around with more computing power in your pocket than was available to all of NASA in the 1970s. You live twice as long as your ancestors ever could have dreamed of, you have food in abundance and the future is brighter than ever. Humanity has achieved more in the last century than it ever has in its entire history. People are happier, freer, crime is lower, you're safer, more secure, and the entire wealth of human knowledge is available to you...

Do you agree with the pope, /his/?
I think he is right, but I also think he is just sticking to fights that will please liberals. For instance, while he opposes abortion, he will never be this vocal about it.
>>731818
Eh. I think he is picking something he knows he can accomplish. If it succeeds, I don't see why he can't go for the same with Abortion.
I would love nothing more than to see what world leaders support one and not the other.
>>731842
>If it succeeds, I don't see why he can't go for the same with Abortion.
Uh, no. Liberals are working, successfully, to abolish the death penalty nation by nation in the West. They're also working to unrestrict abortion, and doing that successfully. The Pope supporting them on the former and it continuing to work, doesn't meant the same would happen with the later, and I doubt he'd even attempt it.

What is this recruitment drive bullshit.
No one cares about this irrelevant ethnic cult.
So is it actually bullshit or are Diamond's theories sound?
I don't know what's so revolutionary about "people have advantages based on their environment". Seems like common sense to me tbqpfhwy lad
>or
is the problem. Many of Diamond's observations are pretty much incontrovertible, others aren't, but people want him to be all right or all wrong.
he's a reactionary against the great man theorists and he wrote a book attacking the idea that whites rule the world due to an inherent racial supremacy, an idea taken seriously by no one who is taken seriously.
