Let's get a historical fun facts thread going
Three of the six soldiers raising this flag would go on to die in this battle.
The first battle of the American Civil War was fought on the farm of Wilmer McLean.
Following the battle, he decided to move his family west; so far that the war would never touch them again.
Four years later, the last battle of the civil war was fought on his new farm in Appomattox. The surrender was signed in his home.
In later life he would say "The war began in my front yard and ended in my front parlor"
Supposedly, the Faroe Islands had a civil war involving a single longboat over who should build a church.
Canadians of /his/, what do you think of the weed man's father?
I just read his biography, and he seemed like a total alpha. It didn't really touch too much on his policies, though. Do you think Justin will measure up?

Regardless of whether he was alpha or not he started the process of flooding the country with third worlders and gave us useless forced bilingulalism.
They're not berbers. They're not semetic, and god knows they're not black or white. Where the hell did they come from?
They were a mix of hunter-gathers coming in from Africas horn and early farmers coming in from the Fertile Cresent?
proto finnish
Not sure we will ever know, but who knows? There is a shit-ton of information that we cannot yet access or even imagine. Probably not so different from indigenous europeans or etruscans.

Going by my Vicky 2 games Brazil needs to invade Uruguay and aggressively fund it's industrial base to strengthen that.
Both still possible, if you countenance future industrial tech prowess.

I've been reading on Islam recently, and I've got to say Islam seems to be the most barbarous ideology ever conceived and led to the death of the various civilizations it conquered.
Convince me otherwise, /his/
>>1319449
Historically wise or theologically, and we're gonna need some examples of what's upsetting you here as this is pretty vague.
>>1319458
All right.
Theologically wise, the complete disregard for reason, the dogmatism, the intolerance, the horrible treatment of women and gays, slavery, pedophilia, and most important of all, the duty to wage holy war against the infidel.
Historically wise, the arabic expansion, the invasion of India, the Ottoman expansion, the barbary slave trade, the nogai slave trade, the african slave trade.
Probably forgot others.

>Islam seems to be the most barbarous ideology ever conceived
As far as religious doctrine goes, it's pretty standard for an Abrahamic religion.
As for secular power, it lead to one of the greatest empires in history.
It's all bullshit of course, but I can't help but think Muhammad was bad ass for starting a cult and using it to found what would become an empire.

why have the poors been poor through out history? I consider it facile that the rich had to be the ones to grift them all the time instead of other originators.
Do you honestly think there's one answer to that question?

“Prior to the Druids Western Europe was undoubtedly inhabited by a squat Mongoloid race”
- H.P. Lovecraft
Is he correct? Who lived here before the arrival of the Indo-European stock?
>>1314444
No, Europe was mostly inhabited by Anatolian farmers.
Proto-Indo-Europeans might have even been a little Mongoloid looking themselves, their closest modern relatives are Finns.
Supposedly the Basques are a remnant of the pre-Indo-European populations. They don't look terribly different from other Western European peoples.
>>1314444
>Who lived here before the arrival of the Indo-European stock?
1. YOU "ARYAN", NOT "INDOEUROPEAN"; THE FORMER IS A DEMONYM, THE LATTER IS A LINGUONYM.
2. PRIOR TO THE ARRIVAL OF THE ARYANS, EUROPA WAS INHABITED BY THE DESCENDANTS OF THE CROMAGNON, AND OF THE NEANDERTHAL; ID EST: BY CROMAGNID, AND NEANDERTHALID, PEOPLES.
Do you fear Hell?
Turn to Christ, senpai.

Sometimes but generally no. I often consider the future with in my life. Heaven and hell are simply afterthoughts that I might think about before I go to bed.
No, since heaven would be hardly any better. Meaning comes from variation, and without it, anything you're subjected to is meaningless. Suffering feels bad because of its difference from bliss. Take away bliss and you also take away suffering, and are left with meaninglessness.
The same thing is true for heaven. Bliss is altogether meaningless without the possibility of suffering, so if you go to heaven, and have any and all suffering taken away forever, you wouldn't find yourself in a state of eternal bliss, but in a state of eternal meaninglessness

So is Central Asian history essentially just Mongols > Turks > Soviet Satellites? Anybody here knowledgeable on the place?
Before Genghis Khan mongols weren't active so much in Central Asia. most of people was turk in there . Then mongol guys came and took the Turks under their rule but in time their became Turk too. So most of Central Asia history belongs to Turks actually. If I were you I would say Turks > Mongols.

Isn't it other way around?
Turks > Mongols > Soviet Satellites?
