gee, thanks OP for linking the trailer

>not IT'S HAPPENING
Anyways, Breaker is the game where you make Gunpla and fight against other Gunpla right? Also no localization, most likely.
>>11264442
Correct, beaten the last game, only needed to know which stat guage was which and I kicked ass just fine without Japanese
Crossbone sure has been getting a lot of RD love lately, and now X1 is getting a HG. Wonder how much farther it will go in the HG direction?
half of them will be P-Bandai exclusives just saying.jupiter empire HGs Never ;_;
>>11261644
F-FINALLY
The Crossbone Core Fighter always looks kind of hilarious with the thrusters that are three times its size.
Anyway, this was to be expected after pic happened.
>>11261654
I'm pretty sure Maoh isn't the only reason why we got a HG X1 gundam. they've been making Crossbone suits for years.
I've come back from my trip with way less than I hoped, but more than I could've had (which is nothing). I've got a few stories to tell, but the moral of the story is that being subject to your family's dickish whims and California's shitty prices tends to combine at the worst times. But I did get $10 debit card out of it, so I have some extra money to spend on bulk buying stuff on Amazon.
Also, the next post is going to be a list of all the ePubs I've made so far. Also, I've found out that there don't seem to be legal ePubs...

good to have you back bro. Sorry to hear about your trip. What will you be scanning in next?
The TNG Nitpickers thing must be a beast if you're still not done with it.
But welcome back!
Why there aren't more /m/ related hentai? There is lots of fantasy hentai for example, and magical girl hentai, but almost no mecha hentai.
Meanwhile, normal mecha anime always have the lewedst girls. Why doesn't japan realize mecha is a goldmine to produce hentai anime
>>11210045
it's a lot easier to have the boob ninja get attacked by the rape demon
mecha means you have to come up with reasons for the robots and the people in them to fuck
maybe something like a lewd Yuna
>>11210047
>Female mecha pilot

There is a metric fuckton of that stuff. Learn those runes and hit the games.
hey /m/
I'm in the mood for something like Giant Robo
is the 2003 Astro Boy series any good?
Absolutely nothing to do with Giant Robo other than both being based on old properties, but yes
>>11224853
I thought it would have a similar... vibe? Mad doctors, adventure, mechas, old school ass kicking. Plus I really like Pluto
would you recommend anything else?
>>11224859
The newer Tetsujin 28 series, maybe? The immortal cop guy even shows up there, too.
hey /m/ guess im here to tell you guys that i found 2 new games on steam that are mech that i didn't know about before/never heard discussed. one released like 10 days ago. http://store.steampowered.com/app/266470/ and this one http://store.steampowered.com/app/313980/
this one that didn't really interest me because frankly it looks stupid http://store.steampowered.com/app/298520/ finally this one too http://store.steampowered.com/app/313730/ which i also have no interest in.
Didn't know about Dark Horizons. Mite be cool.
I'm actually waiting for Sunrider to finish. I got to about 3/4ths of the game until I quit out of sheer frustration. Apparently, I needed to git gud some. My tip: kill everything on sight unless it's an escape mission (otherwise you'd be swamped eventually) because money for upgrades is a big ass problem later.
>>11250942
yeah makes me think of chromehounds and mechwarrior.
Post "original" mecha. Nothing like fan Gundams or Macross or whatever mechs, just pure original stuff from an artist on Pixiv or one of the boorus.
I like this guy's stuff personally. Kind of reminds me of a souped up version of the White Glint.
A favorite from the last thread.
NINJA MECH WITH A LANCE COMING THROUGH
here goes
Why has the mecha videogame genre been dead in the West since last generation? Especially if you take PC into account
>>11209220
>Especially if you take PC into account
What is Mech Warrior Online? What is Strike Suit Zero?
Also, because Mecha just isn't that popular in the west. Same reason CoD type games aren't popular in Japan.
>>11209220
You could argue that this is mechaeven though it really isn't
's fun though
>>11209265
Those are two games in how many years? One is a F2P MMO for christs sake.
If we are to build real combat mecha, energy source size/weight will be a limiting factor determining the size of mecha itself. What should be the size of real combat mecha? Odaiba Gundam is so big it's not practical in urban warfare and its size probably makes it an easy target for guerrilla counter-attacks. What energy source can we use, is portable nuclear reactor feasible? Are small reactors available? When will they be available?
Power armor is the limit, I think. 8-10 ft. tall.
there are small nuke reactors out there: but they can't even power a hairdryer.
if it ever becomes a thing, and i am not sure why it would, it'd be small. like patlabor small. or power loader small. or pic related.
it's got a diesel engine
>>11235079
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OK-900_reactor this says typical ship has 2x171MW reactors, how much power would a Gundam need to move and power its energy weapons (presumably laser tech at this stage)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Small,_sealed,_transportable,_autonomous_reactor this says size depends on power output, would 20MW be enough for a mecha?
Why aren't tanks more popular?
When talking about mecha, it's always giant robots.
Tanks need more love too.
Tank thread.
I know it's rather too early but I need to ask where you can get information on Argevollen setting (especially the mech names). Any official site/dedicated fansite?
Oh well, Argevollen thread
I'd like to see mecha scans myself.
>>11215822
>Any official site
http://argevollen.com/index.html
http://argevollen.com/contents/world/trailkrieger/bloodyhopper.html
to be more exact for the vehicles/mechs seen so far. They even show the transport vehicles/tanks
There's been something that's been bugging me about Dunbine, and I wanna know two things.
1. Is it true that the license for Dunbine expired?
2. If so, then is it possible to give this show newer, better subs?
I'd also like to know.
bumping.
I'm not sure about the license, but getting better subs is never easy. Unless you have the resources to get it done yourself OP.
>>11216530
>1. Is it true that the license for Dunbine expired?
well ADV held the rights and they went out of business so..YES?
>2. If so, then is it possible to give this show newer, better subs?
It is technically POSSIBLE yes

Slave Wrath is going to be an GM Ground type (Assault Equipment) with stats btween it and a Ground Type Gundam,. Zaku II HMG is going to be a Zaku II HM (3S) upgraded in a similar manner. You can look at both units and see roughly what you'll be getting. It gives the Federation unit a free BZ+Cannon with a side of Dom Flash. Zeon gets a Giant BZ and CBZ user, which seems to be giving them a free 10K BZ user. It depends on which you view as stronger.
(A CBR user would have been a better choice. Zeon is getting...

Classic Western design aesthetics for giant robots tends to focus on blocky designs with recognizable mechanical elements. They're usually ponderous, to reflect their weight and mass, as well as inflexible - big walking weapon platforms, really, which fit the stories about them since they're usually more grounded in actual war-fighting.
Classic Eastern design aesthetics goes in the opposite directions. Designs are usually covered in artistic flourishes and built impossibly lithe and flexible. On the whole they tend to move faster and more gracefully, with a...

Well, Battlemechs are heavily based on the Destroids from Macross and the Combat Armors from Dougram, so there's that.
>>11238488
>Any Japanese mecha designed to look weighty and heavy?
Japanese mecha design usually subscribes to both camps, with a preference toward standard humanoid designs.
This season's Argevollen is one such example. There are also a large number of games that use such ideas too, like Armored Core (which is a combination of both camps) and Chromehounds. There was also Steel Battalion, which is still the only mech sim to have a full mech sim experience, controller and all. I would...
