The original order is fine. I guess the back story is way too long and they want to show a gundam fight in the first episode so they redid the story into a flash back.
That's not the problem. The script writing is just horrible. It's not even B rated movie, it's more like F rated. As bad as that "omg it eats her and then they are going to eat meeeeeee" level of shit writing.

So recently I bought the hd collection because I heard it was really good. I've never played any of the games in the series before and wanted to try it out since it was cheap. I wanted to know can i skip the first game and play the 2nd game without getting lost in the story? I overheard the first game was crap compared the 2nd game and I needed to know I'm not missing out on anything by skipping the first game.
The first game is kind of a tech demo honestly, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't play it. It's great, it's just missing some features and not as deep as the second. You'll miss some of the better emotional moments in the second game if you skip it, and if you play 2, you'll never make it through 1 if you go back.

What the fuck? Is "Zeta Gundam is good" just an elaborate troll? I finally finished forcing myself to watch this shit and it is worse than 0079 in every way.

It also ruins every returning character from 0079, mostly ruining Char and Amuro.
Overall, Zeta Gundam is a complete clusterfuck and I can't imagine ZZ could be any worse than it. I can't really explain in detail why Zeta is shit because I am still in complete shock that people consider this better than 0079 or good at all. The only worse mecha show I have seen is maybe MOSPEADA.

Yeah, I just finished Zeta not too long ago. Too much of the character motivations and plots were either too thin or made no sense at all either because they either didn't portray the situation well enough or they tried to explain everything with newtypes. Lazy writing regardless.
The animation was good for it's time, been when the rose-tinted glasses come off, the series has aged terribly.

Second season is digital, though it's framerate didn't seem to suffer (it increased if anything). The art style itself DID suffer tremendously though.Sunrise will never properly rescan S1 in 1080p.
